I have been using CA glue for over 40 years, and I never thought of using it for jointing when a clamp is required. Great tip! You can bet I'll be using that in the future.
Another tip (excuse the pun) for keeping the...tip... clear is just before you park the bottle for a bit, with the lid off, stand it upright and GENTLY pump the sides of the bottle. This clears the nozzle. Then put the cap on as usual, keeping it upright. I've had pretty good luck doing that, and don't have to dig crud out before using it again.
I use a ton of this stuff in my woodworking shop. Personally, I love the medium viscosity formula... not too thick, not too thin! Thanks for the sodium bicarbonate tip! I had never heard of this.
For wood cracks, try filling them with fine wood dust/baking soda/corn starch, you get the idea, then apply the glue, works like a charm and saves a lot of glue, thanks for the video!
How do you guys use this stuff without it clogging up the caps and solidying in the containers they come in. I have NEVER been able to use CA more than once it ALWAYS ends up bunging up the container it comes in and almost ALWAYS ends up solidifying inside the container!
I have had no problem using Zap medium thickness glue but have certainly had problems with others. Of course keep the cap on it when not in use and keep it away from accelerators. In other words, put the cap on the glue before you use any accelerator.
Simple my friend... if you're using a mitre bond 2pack version of superglue (which is awesome), with the bottle in an upright position, squeeze it until the glue is almost at the tip, then let go quickly and youll hear it suck any remaining glue back down into the bottle, then quickly clean the tip with an alcohol wipe and screw the lid on. Then store it upright. Lasts forever!
Right On! 🙌Thanks for watching! I’m not sure about food safe! I’d have to look into that. Best way to keep it from going bad is to put the cap on tight and to also put it in the fridge and keep it cold. Seems like moisture and heat are not good. 🙌❄️🔥
Regarding keeping the Cyano glue for as long as possible: I have a large enough bottle of dessicant, remove sufficient of it to allow two bottles of glue inside, completely surrounding them, and place it in the refrigerator... Following that, I have been able to store it for more than five years without too much degradation or solidifying. Out in the warm and moist air, they last less than a few months!
Great vid! I use this 2P10 a lot doing trim work Never knew the tricks with the baking powder though. Will be great for filling holes or crevasses. Thanks!
I have seen people take the Baking soda and add the powder pigments like Pearl EX then the CA glue. That gets a sort of Epoxy pour looking filler on cracks and knotholes. Even saw a Bowtie fill on a crack with this method. It didn't take much of the pigment to color the baking soda and it looked very nice when sanded and clear coated.
TThis is AMAZING! OK, now do we keep the 2P-10 from drying out? Normal Super Glue is only good for ONE use, the glue dries up quickly inside the applicator. I’l look for this 2P-10 at our local Home Depot, I hope they have it.
Another trick is to take fine sandpaper and collect the dust from sanding. Use the dust to fill in a hole and hit it with the thin CA glue. The sanding dust will become like wood filler and blend perfectly. It will also sand like wood because it is wood. That was glossed over in the end but it works really well.
Just remember that it's good for pieces that will either be clear coated or painted. If you're going to stain it, the glue / sawdust will not accept the stain and will stand out.
Here is another one for you. Years ago I chipped my quartz’s countertop and used the ca glue with soda bicarbonate. Perfect invisible repair. To this day I have a hard time finding it. By the way, your showing your NY metropolitan side when you refer to Earl Sheib!😀
That’s great with the countertop! That stuff really dries hard. 💪 Yeah old Earl Scheib! A lot of people may have no idea what I’m talking about?!? 🤪 Right on Tony!
Great video, especially the baking soda trick. Using too much activator creates bubbles, heat and sometimes smoke. Just a quick spritz from a foot or so away, then wait a minute for much better results.
And how do I get it off of my skin if got it on by accident while using?! You also mentioned that you have used the super glue on skin cuts! Is it safe if it come in contact with blood or should be removed on later?! ETC! Please explain. Thanks
Gel super glue works great for propagating my salt water corals. Ya just put a little bit on the rock then stick the coral piece on then once it hits the water it bonds almost instantly. Gotta use gel though cause regular floats off in the tank. It’s safe for the corals also. So I guess I can say I enjoy glueing animals to rocks😂
Let's say you use that on laminate floors where the 6 " joint doesn't lock properly. You can't sand laminate joints so with that said, will SP10 and activator shine after is dry? Shiny repair joints will l stick out like a sore thumb. Hope you can reply.
Hmm, it’s tough without looking at the flooring and seeing what would work. 🤔 If it’s a joint where the glue can seep in and not be seen it could work. Maybe tape off the sides of the joint as to not get glue on surrounding areas. Yellow glue might work here as well. Inject it with a glue syringe. Too bad the joint isn’t locking properly?
Good video. I hear Roland Martin like to put a little dab of this type of glue on fishing line knots. It doesn't hurt monofilament or braided line, by my experience.
I've often used Simple Green to make it set up quickly, However, it gives it a slight greenish tint, If it's in a hidden spot it makes no difference. I like your tips. Thanks a lot. I've used the soda trick often, Works swell.

Nice Jon-san, A great video my man - I picked up some 2P-10 after seeing this and it works great. Thanks! And I appreciate some history on Super Glue as well, nice to know where it evolved from.
I use 2P-10 all the time. Paul at FastCap says he prefers the pump bottle activator because all you need is a tiny little spritz. Using the aerosol can tends to over use it. I use both activators.
I have been using it for years, but never knew all the extra uses you showed, very cool, thanks. When you use it for a repair, can you stain it, or will in not receive the stain. my guess it won't, not being permeable?
Right On Matt 👍 It won’t take a stain. It dries like hard plastic. This same company makes a CA glue that they added rubber to. Makes it flexible. I haven’t used it yet!
I remember using Eastman 910 where I worked in the mid70s. We used it to glue very delicate parts together for heliarc welding. The metals were around .050 thick and couldn't be held with clamps. We also took it home to use in all kinds of repairs. One eye opener was repairing a wine glass that had broken from it's stem. After washing it in warm water, it was found to have fallen apart. We soon found that we could "unglue" our fingers by running them under warm water
Some breaks can't be successfully re-glued because the part just has to take very high stress, e.g. a plastic axel on a floor cleaner's wheels. Drill a hole into both halves and fill the hole with a steel stud that acts like rebar e.g. a piece of machine crew or coathanger wire or nail that has been dented with wire cutters (to allow the glue to grip). If the hole is a bit bigger than the stud, you have enough slop to align the part halves without aligning the stud. Then with your third hand, you spray the activator. Or for extra strength, use 5-minute steel-filled epoxy.
You oughta switch it up by saying 'left' every now and then, right? I keed, I keed..... Great video, I learned something new with that baby powder tip.👌 Thanks!
Few tips to add, that activator works on any brand CA glue so you don't have to use that brand of glue to use the activator. Also you don't need that much activator, it only takes a very small amount for it to work.

How do you feel about filling in all of the cracks with the thin or medium glue to give the soundboard more stability? I have to add that the cracks are not all of the way through the soundboard, only on the surface. Thankyou brother for any opinion you have to offer, very appreciated

No acetone will not work on it’s own. It is just a carrier for the amine that is the activator. You can actually spray the activator and let the acetone gas off leaving the amine behind then join the parts. 👍 Right On!
Great video! Earl Scheib ... any car $29.95! The 70's commercials were the goofiest. I never doubted that the guy's helmet was stuck to the beam BUT what the hell stuck the helmet to the guy's head!
Hairspray after he got it perfectly feathered and all the 8-balls of cocaine made his hair stand up and pierce the inner walls of the hardhat, therefore, serving as a type of anchoring platform for that numb fuzzy melon. Lol. Usually when you watched this commercial, it was often followed by the Master lock getting a 30.06 round punching straight through it without opening. Funny thing is, years later you see dozens of videos of people never needing to use firepower to disable this brand of locks, all that was needed is 2 paper clips! I just read that Sawdust, Cornstarch, Arrowroot Powder, or Talcum Powder can be used as well. I also saw a video where guy ground down to a powder pencil leads and it was amazingly strong
Yes it is! I have a friend who is a luthier and uses this often. He has shown me how he can build up a broken nut with CA glue and baking soda. Also is good on the wood.
When using a nail/brad gun into a thin section, it's better to hold the gun parallel to the long edge as the nail is less likely to "bend" sideways and out through the side of the wood

I use that and I like the black rubber inhanced CA glue. for fun I had a small cart tire that the tube was torn at the valve stem. I used the rubber inhanced CA sealed it up then added the bakeing soda and gluce and put it together has been good for a week now that surprised me. It is use often for RC people for the rubber tires I believe.
Hi! Thanks for watching! 👍✨ The acetone is actually just a carrier for the amines which sets off the CA glue. Acetone is good because it flashes off and dissipates quickly. You can spray the accelerator and let it dry then bond the two parts together. Hope that helps! Happy Holidays! 🎄❄️

Fun informative video. Spelled: Cyanoacrylate
Very Nice tips but maybe remove the high pressure straw from the can for a more gentle misting spray of the activator in certain applications.
Right on! 👍 Yes I agree. Sometimes that tip can blast the glue right out!! Thanks for watching!
Also keep the open bottle of CA glue far away from the activator when spraying it ;-)
Pssst..isopropyl alcohol works fine as an activator.. Use a little spray bottle or some ace tones..
Great tips
Where do ya get that glue?
This is fastcap 2p-10 I get it on Amazon here is the link amzn.to/3J2lg50
Say again?! Baking soda and super glue awesome!! Really
Does the trick! 😃👏
Boy, do I feel foolish. I've just been using it to hang from a board by my hard hat. I didn't know you could use it for other things too.
You got me sold on it ..I can think of many uses where I can mix the powder or baking soda with it
Right On! 👍 It’s one of those shop items where now I can’t work without it!
Does the baby powder dry of clear?!
Man this is an excellent tutorial
BRAVO!
Right On! 🙌Thanks!
That’s pretty cool that it worked on the valve stem! Thanks for the comment. It nice to know uses like this. Right On 👍
Very generous application of the stuff - but it costs a fortune, well, it does here in Europe.
John Walker it's WAY faster for base, crown, window, door trim etc. at any price.
I knew it! Grampa Munster invented Krazy Glue.
Right! Made it down in the basement! 😄
Is the main ingredient in the activator essentially acetone?
Sold 👍. Thanks
Right on Joe! It’s good stuff. Can get it on Amazon and such.
can make water/baking soda solution, spray it (as activator) if finding activator spray is hard (like Australia!)
That’s a cool idea! I will have to give that a try!! 🙌✨
