My ex’s last name is Hairapetian and, he is Armenian. 5 generations of his family have been born in America. Now seeing the surname spelled like this, I’m sure this must be the traditional correct spelling of the Armenian Surname. Was probably changed when the first Hayrapetyan’s came to Ellis Island N.Y from Armenia. I loved going into my ex’s grandfather’s home everything they had seemed to be bright colored and I loved listening to them talk in Armenian. It was really interesting and the stories I heard from them living in the old country were simply incredible. Some were very sad but, interesting and nonetheless very sad and unfortunate during WW2
