Awesome song. For the lady talking over him, I'll never understand why go to a show if you're not there to listen and appreciate the music. ❤ The song is very powerful and hits close to home. Thank you for posting!
He wrote it during the cancer. He played it Saturday before in Vegas. Last night in Santa Barbara was the best so far. His son Julian played it with him and Mike got emotional. It hit hard. So happy he’s still here and I got to see him for these first three shows 🙏🏼
Love it Mike you're absolutely right love is bigger than anything in the universe I was one of those many comments wishing you well telling you you could overcome this even told the story the first time I saw you and you were just 21 watch you Blossom through life great inspiration love you Mike Ness forever you're a Timeless classic
I used to have a bunch of oldie cars it was all about me until I met my wife and had my family I sold off the 58 Bel Air the 1949 shoebox Ford Coupe Business Coupe I sold it all to buy a home for my kids and my family
I was born in Fullerton April 4, 1962, a day after Mike. Still have a home in Fullerton. Went to a private High School in Anaheim with the original rhythm guitarist of the Adolescents. I remember going over to the dark hole for a visit and said no, not for me. I wanted to be a Doctor or a Lawyer fat and rich as Mike would sing. Ended up being a banker, still fat and rich. Never attended those early punk shows as I was afraid of the violence, but I always loved Social Distortion since the beginning. Took my wife to the Chula Vista show. She was born same day as Mike, April 3rd, but in 1947. She’s having some issues with AFIB, which is scaring me. I go to bed wondering how much time we have left together. I feel like I’m scrambling to complete things because we have finite time left. So when Mike played this song, my eyes teared up. We’re all going to get there someday, but we never know when. Thank you Mike.
I shed some tears just reading what you wrote. I was once just as angry all day everyday. As an adult I am a lot of the time still. Music is the only thing that can get my mind right. Keep doing your thing brother.
You are so heartfelt and true..you are the guy who knows how to get into this heart and soul and that of your fans like no other.its absolutely enthralling.and almost drops me to my knees
It's so cool how he plays these songs when they're still rough around the edges. I remember them doing Angels Wings at a show then when it came out on Sex, Love and Rock 'n' Roll it had different lyrics. This song was very powerful. Thank you for sharing.
Nice, I grabbed a hat, shirt, and sweater. And it’s almost summer time 😂 Can’t wait to wear it next winter. My next livestream I’ll be wearing the hat and shirt
Great song !!!! We love it so much. It is so relevant to what we feel during war. We never heared such a long and personal speech of Mike on stage before. It speaks a lot about what he went through.
It's a nice song with that middle age (plus) sentiment, and that makes sense. Good for Mike to write new songs. Was looking at cops violate rights and found myself here!
Thank you very much because this song reminded me of my mom's last day alive about 6 months ago. It's so awesome to see this on RUclips. I tried to record it but ran out of storage on my phone and at the end of the song when I went to save it it said error and I lost everything and seeing it on here and its entirety with better sound quality than my phone would have had again thank you so much
Thank you man. I never battled cancer or a disease but I lost my best friend to suicide and for a long time I was contemplating taking my own life. I found Social D in that dark time and they pulled me out of that hole and to hear this song years after that tragic day it reminded me of that time and makes me greatful to be alive and well for the ones that love me the most and pushed me to find help and get in a right place in life. In a short story thank you for posting this. Hope they play it when I see them in may. 🔥🔥🔥
I saw him in DC last night. I cried, and I'm crying right now. Lady next to me was crying, she works in a cancer clinic, i was just diagnosed with brain aneuryson, so I've been warned, don't know how I feel about it. Love Mike Ness
I’ve always loved your channel- figured you guys would be SD fans!😂 I’m going to see them next week here in Dallas Thanks for posting- and the work yall do!
It's That Homeless Scrubbalo on my 2nd channel. I'm watching your live stream on my main and heard you mention this... i had to listen because I too was just diagnosed with cancer... EDIT: This hit me hard

I had to give up a lot but all the love I receive today is priceless

Sorry to hear that Mike. SD is a band that I saw several years ago in a small venue in Vermont and I still wear their T-Shirt I bought at the concert.

Does anyone know where Bay Area transparency is? Prison?
California
The Bay Area
Very similar too the song cheating at solitary
For an 'inspired' song, it sounds very uninspired. They've been like that for years. He's turning into Joe Biden.
