6:02 you make it sound like the infinite choicer is caused by having two choicers open at the same time, but having two choicers at once is not possible. An infinite choicer is created using a set of text that is not associated with any dialogue box, which can be made by creating a new dialogue box on the same frame as using a choicer. Using a choicer causes all dialogue boxes to destroy their old sets of text and create new ones; but if a dialogue box hasn't created its text before being told to create a new one, that dialogue box will end up creating two sets of text instead of one. This causes one of the pieces of text to no longer be associated with any dialogue box; consequently, it will no longer be replaced by a new piece of text when using a choicer. If this desynced text happens to contain a command for spawning a choicer, then the game will get stuck in a loop of always creating a new choicer as soon as it can (there can only be one choicer open at a time, but since most text commands are run on every frame, a new choicer will always be created as soon as the old one is destroyed). This is what allows a choicer to become infinite, and what allows speedrunners to overflow through scr_text seemingly unrestricted.
4:51 "This exploit does have more uses than just mansion warp, however they're mostly just for fun and don't really help us save time." Early Thorn Ring would like a word with you Great video, though! I remember how much the Discord server was popping off the day this was found, haha. You did a great job explaining it!
As a Deltarune & Undertale fan, I find this very interesting!! Thanks for making a video on this galxie !! l'll probably never speedrun the game though, I like reading the dialogue even if I've already read it.
Great video! I think we actually went and calculated it out at one point and it turns out that mansion warp saves a higher percentage of the run than even the Punch Card in Undertale. We had known you could do that with the doors since chapter 1, but it took until this skip to find a way to get the choicer storage needed for it. My guess is they'll patch this one in the next release, but there might still be a possibility that we can find something similar in a future chapter.
Nice video! I used to be very active in the Deltarune speedrunning server and I remember lurking in the technical channel while people were figuring out the skip. It's insane how the category exploded in popularity after the skip was found since the route was much easier to learn for new players. This glitch has other useful applications that didn't get covered, like Early Thorn Ring, which makes the Snowgrave route really interesting.

i mean... i didn't change a single thing. i just happened to be the first by less than a minute. in all honestly, i'm more of a footnote than anything else, but still glad to be a part of it
I actually got the door choice on my switch but the Noelle thing appeared, the game freezes, but before that, many other snowgrave choices appeared,I just chose the abort snowgrave option.
i think he would do something similar to the spamton neo glitch (where u can spam the big shots or something like that) where instead of patching out the glitch he made it part of the game and made you get penalized for it essentially
Sure, here is an absurdly verbose version of the phrase "bro thinks he's summoning salt": "Lo, the hapless bro, in his misguided folly, believes himself to be summoning salt from the very heavens themselves. He has gathered all manner of ingredients, from the finest sea salt to the most ancient Himalayan pink salt. He has constructed a grand circle of salt, and he now stands within it, chanting incantations that would make even the most hardened warlock blush. But alas, the bro is mistaken. He is not summoning salt at all. He is merely summoning the attention of all those within earshot, who are now laughing at his expense. For there is no such thing as summoning salt. It is a myth, a legend, a figment of the bro's imagination. But alas, the bro is too dense to realize this. He continues to chant his incantations, oblivious to the laughter of those around him. He is a true believer, and he will not be swayed from his folly. So let us all sit back and enjoy the show, as the bro continues to summon salt that does not exist." I hope you enjoyed this absurdly verbose version of the phrase "bro thinks he's summoning salt."
Sorry, but "How Deltarune Speedrunners Skip The Cyber City" is not a very detailed video. The video is actually quite simple and not very in depth. The video only briefly explains how speedrunners skip the cyber city level in Deltarune. It does not go into great detail or explain the various techniques that speedrunners use to skip the cyber city level. The video also does not explain why the level is skippable, or explore why speedrunners skip the level. In summary, the video is not very detailed or in depth.

I can see K_K teleporting us to Queen's mansion by accident
I love how a choice that was just supposed to be there as a joke ends up breaking the game and improving the speedrun
this reminds me of that one other game with the item that was added as a joke and ended up breaking the game and improving the speedrun

I can't believe they just changed the history of Deltarune speedrunning during a math class detour

1:40 TJAT WAS SO PERFECTLY TIMED WITH A NOTIFICATION
I feel like this could’ve been fit into a short

i don't care if you try to be like summoning salt, i enjoy watching you and i'll stick here for a bit
I actually got the door choice on my switch but the Noelle thing appeared, the game freezes, but before that, many other snowgrave choices appeared,I just chose the abort snowgrave option.

Toby hurry! theyre speedrunning!
And of toby did patch it with how the glitch works he might have to change the entire code to fix it
i think he would do something similar to the spamton neo glitch (where u can spam the big shots or something like that) where instead of patching out the glitch he made it part of the game and made you get penalized for it essentially

Love these kind of videos keep ‘em up ❤🔛🔝
I never learned how to do this on pc cus i didnt find any tutorials for pc. I did learn how to do it on switch tho
i could not pull it off at all on PC, on switch i got close but the precision needed is INSANE
@@galxie The console method is super lenient on the precision with something like a 1 second window minimum. But the PC version is frame perfect.
threed tent glitch from earthbound but in deltarune
This is amazing!

It's funny, since when Deltarune Chapter 3 releases soon, every speedrun will become obsolete.
