hard agree, the best way to use the concept of dark worlds is to have multiple people making them for their own personal reasons. We actually already see a bit of this, with Kris both being confirmed to have made a dark fountain at the end of chapter 2 and having no way to make the Cyber World dark fountain considering it was made after Noelle/Berdly had already sat down in the computer lab before the fountain existed (and they were at school then).

Honestly totally agree. The queen legit said someone just needs to be determined enough and plunge their blade to make a dark fountain.
Personal theory that makes a lot of sense is gaster being one of the knights. Which is why the man behind the tree since (he's literally in the void. The gasters room in undertale in also in-between rooms) he can actually leave that place, if you have gotten an egg before while the place got traffic before the darkworld is open. He will be outside in a car. Will wave to the player and disappear.
But why would he be outside if he could dissappear. Most probably since that place was near the dark world and he created an alibi for himself by pretending to be in the car. (Not to mention the traffic was caused by the annoying dog, the only way to get to the room in between in chapter 2 is to get run over by said annoying dog)
Also the blueprints and alphys was able to use for her research in the determination experiments was dusty and left behind by most likely gaster. Given the true lab seems to be originally owned by him.

Ralsei may also be a Knight, though I believe he's a darkener. He can't leave the dark world with kris and susie and with his red horns. He leads me to believe he's the red horns kris lost long ago that ended up in the darkworld. But hard agree ralsei knows more than he let's on. And his particular interest in the player and dismissing kris dilemma so easily where even susie is confused. I don't think ralsei is bad but he does has his reasons, we would have to wait and see for more info on dat

My crackpot theory is that Noelle's mother is the Knight. The game seems to be heading in a direction where the Holiday family will be very, very important. Carol could have some kind of a "finding Dess" justification for opening dark worlds. It is likely that the lost person in the code is Dess, and that person says it is very dark in there... I can see Dess being stuck in some kind of a funny spooky darker-than-dark world.

Disagree with “the man from the other world” being Frisk for a few reasons: 1) they’re never referred to with gendered language anywhere else in the game so this would be very unusual; 2) Frisk is referred to as a child throughout the game; 3) the River Person is talking TO Frisk at this point so this wouldn’t make sense to be referring to them in third person; 4) even if read in a meta sense, why would the player need to beware of Frisk? Nowhere in the game do they actively pose a threat to the player’s goals

2:21 Personally, I don't think the omission of The Roaring by Ralsei in Chapter one would be an evidence for that theory, as I really don't think this would necessarily imply he is evil...
Ralsei did mention that Kris and Susie were supposed to prevent, well, the literal end of the world and collapse of the reality from happening, and that would involve closing Dark Fountains. He wouldn't need to mention the Roaring directly until they became aware they could open Dark Fountains at will by channeling their "Determination", and that would only really happen at Chapter 2.

I'm glad to see more people getting to know the Alvin theory. Even if he isn't the Knight, I'm sure by now that he will be important in future chapters, maybe as some sort of proxy of Gerson Boom. Just to mention some interesting things about Gerson:
    - One of few names which the voice at the vessel creation thinks is interesting.
    - Parallels to Gaster, since Alphys is a replacement for Gerson in Deltarune.
    - Wrote fantasy books in Deltarune. His memorial mentions he was inspired by dreams, which is a thing connected to dark worlds.
    - Was a knight in Undertale, with the Hammer of Justice. Similar to King saying he has the Chain of Justice, after talking about the Knight.
As for Gaster being the voice at the vessel creation, I think it is close to being confirmed. Mainly because of what the dataminers seem to have found about the "typer values". It seems like the typer value used in Entry 17 is the same that is used for the mysterious voice in Deltarune.
I was wondering if you were going to mention Dess, since she seems like one of the most popular candidates for the Knight in the fandom. I'm not sure about Dess personally, I can only assume she's the mysterious person lost in the dark.

One of my personal favorite theories is that Kris/The Player isn't the protagonist of Deltarune, it's Susie; I might go in more details of this theory but you should be able to find info about it on youtube.
But for two main things I can point to are:
-The battle theme is named Rude Buster, who shares the name as the signature ability of Susie.
-Susie is shown to be the most generally liked main party member, typical of average protagonists in Anime for example.

@@galxie Susie is, verbatim, a direct parallel to the romanticized consept of a HERO from Ralsei's prophecy in terms of their role in the story, which juxtaposes the sheer gravity of the dark drama going on around Susie, JUST out of their notice.
Kris has their shit going on with litterally being controlled by a lil heart, and regardless of what decisions are made by the mysterious entity controling Kris (the player), Kris still prolly don't like being hyjacked.
Ralsei? They seem to be doing everything in their power to "assist the hero's on their journey", even if they withhold information that might otherwise make the journey far more... Unpleasant, perhaps? They generally have been sticking to "their role to the prophecy". Also, saying ralsei, or any of Toby's characters, are "evil" is pretty much a complete and utter insult to Toby's writing capabilities.
Susie, by comparison, is practically an open book. Their insecurities and projection caused her to agressively push people away, which were pretty much dealt with at the end of chapter 1. That is to say, for the chapters beyond that, it puts Susie and Kris into a really interesting position.
Susie is our Main character, a character unimpeded by secrets and weird soul funky business, and pretty much have been having fun, enjoying their role as the hero and as Kris' and Ralsei's friends. *They wander dark world's as one of the fabled HEROs, beings prophesied to stop the the earth's destruction..!* Meanwhile, our protagonist, Kris, is our look into the drama abyss that's JUST out of sight for Susie. We know a just enough that this dark world stuff is serious business, Kris being possessed (by us,) and their reaction to that, and the prophecy info that Ralsei has told us, Kris' relations with Noelle giving us a look into the "Dess" situation, as well as the ramifications that all these things tie into each other throughout the story probably.
If I got anything wrong, let me know, I ain't Dorked lol
      It's all very, very interesting,

actually, i think the use of "beware" makes sense in relation to sans. remember, flowey warns you to not let sans find out ANYTHING about you, and that sans caused a good amount of floweys resets. sans also tells frisk that they'd be dead if it weren't for toriel making him promise to protect them. even if it wasn't a threat, you can tell he really meant it. the only thing that makes sans not a super dangerous foe is his lack of strength and urgency. he lets you kill pretty much the entire underground in one of the neutral endings without doing a single thing about it. but we already see in genocide that when he wants to kill you, he WILL.
but what really sells this theory for me is how sans' dialogue in undertale really hammers in the fact that hes not from this world. the lost souls battle with him saying "you'll never see 'em again," likely in relation to the unknown people in that photo album you can find in his garage. and the genocide fight dialogue where he says "i gave up trying to go back a long time ago. and getting to the surface doesn't really appeal either," there's a clear distinction between wherever he wants to go back to and the surface in this dialogue. and of course, the fact that he researched timelines and knows about them.
while he doesn't necessarily have to be from deltarune, it's easy to draw the conclusions considering he's the only one in deltarune completely unchanged, other than the fact he runs a grocery store. everyone else wears a new outfit and has different lore. the only hole in this theory is that if he is from deltarune, then he should've been able to recognize toriel's voice in undertale. but that's honestly very minor and doesn't really debunk it.
of course, i don't take this theory as canon, but it makes sense when you think about it.
    EDIT (08/04/23):
more evidence for this theory! in the papyrus q&a from the UTDR summer newsletter, papyrus says that his home before snowdin had green grass. you know where else has green grass? hometown! boom. it's now canon. (just kidding, but it does back up the theory a bit!)

with Toriel's voice, i feel like it would make sense either way. it would add an interesting angle to what we already know about Sans going to that door every day in Undertale. There's nothing that would straight up deny the possibility that he just accepts that no one "knows" him in this world, not even the AU counterparts of his friends in Deltarune and just rolls with it instead of explaining to everyone who he really is and what happened.
He GAVE UP on going back after all. So when he realized that Toriel is alive behind that door, he just rolled with it and stuff.

My S rank theory that isn't mentioned in the video is Chess Theory: the theory that all DT bosses revolve around chess figures.
First up, King. Kings in chess can only move one step at a time, which funnily enough, during the ending cutscene after beating King, that is exactly what he does, awkwardly stumbling towards Kris. Kings are also pretty immobile, usually not moving as much throughout the game.
And now, we take a glance at Queen. Unlike kings, queens in chess are extremely mobile, having movement capabilities of both bishops and rooks. In DT, Queen's all over the place: following Kris, appearing out of nowhere, and so on and so forth. Also, in the scene after the Queen fight after you free Berdly, Queen distracts everyone and runs away. Runs. Not stumbles. She moves quickly, like a chess queen.
It seems like each chapter's boss is decreasing in value (first we have the king, the most valuable piece and then we have the queen, which is the second-most valuable), and the next character will somewhat resemble a rook in terms of mobility. I don't have many ideas about how Toby is going to represent a chess rook's movement, but I do know that by prolonging this logic, we're going to see a bishop or knight in chapter 4. A bishop or **knight.** [[Holly Cungadero]], we might meet the Knight in chapters 4 or 5. And chapter 5 is only 2 chapters away from 7, the end of the game; it seems likely that Toby will drop the bombshell somewhere around that time.
Overall, I think this theory is onto something. This seems like the kinda joke/Easter egg Toby would drop into the game. The only problem I see is that there are 6 pieces in chess (King, Queen, Rook, Bishop, Knight, Pawn), and yet there are 7 chapters. Maybe chapter 7 is going to be special somehow? Let me know what you think.

Kris clearly didn't have a very healthly friendship with Noelle, but she pretty much trusted him to the point she basically agreed about him corrupting her in snowgrave route, altrough much cuz she liked the sensation of power. The fact he feels sad after snowgrave route either means he didn't feel well corrupting Noelle, or he felt bad about forcing Noelle to kill her friend trough a mysterious spell (probably).
This means Kris actually has a small possessive side to him, but hide it cuz he still see Noelle as their friend. When you get the ring for her, it seems Kris, or maybe his alter ego, that's it, the thing which keep possessing him, gains the ability to speak in her mind, which is pretty much confirmed when you are able to call her trough a whisper to help you in the route chapter final boss fight, also, she does says the voice which is ordering her is much more authoritative and terrifying than Kris's voice. The moment she wore the ring, Kris, or the thing which keeps possessing him, became able to directly look into her mind and speak with her, as long Kris is not too far alway from her.

I really like the theory of Ralsei being the red headband that Kris had as a kid. With that interpretation, it would mean that Ralsei represents the person Kris thought they had to be to fit in with monster society. All the connections to Asriel could be explained by Kris idolizing their older brother, and the kinda romantic implications between Kris and Ralsei could be explained as a sort of self-love/acceptance. Toby could even do a transphobia metaphor with the change in pronouns with the form Kris wanted to take to "fit in" using masculine pronouns(though it probably wouldn't go further than a metaphor since Toby doesn't seem too interested in tackling those heavy topics).
The biggest piece of evidence for me is Ralsei's pinkish-red horns. Out of every Dreemurr monster we've seen, not a single one has horns like that. It's a detail that feels like it is trying to hint at the fact that Ralsei isn't Asriel and is more a reflection of who Kris thought they had to be as a child.

They make cameos in the Light World and both Dark Worlds. This suggests that they have been there before. Perhaps because they made the fountains? Also, in Undertale, Everyman is the only one in the True Lab who isn’t an Amalgamate. Gaster used to work in the True Lab as well, and I think the Knight has connections to Gaster. This is a very thinly-veiled theory, but I could see it happening. Maybe Everyman was distraught by the disappearance of Gaster and is making new Dark Worlds to bring him back. My theory is that Ralsei is the Current Starwalker. Hear me out.
The Original Starwalker and Ralsei's design in ch 1 match up shockingly well, with their only defined limbs being their legs, with three points in their silhouette and a slim figure otherwise. Also, TOS (as I'll be calling the Original Starwalker) has some strange traits that lend themself to Ralsei oddly consistently. During Chapter 2's opening, you see Starwalker join you like Rouxls and Lancer, leaving you around when Rouxls does as well. But... unlike them, TOS doesn't turn to stone or even come close. They're completely normal. And when you look at what Ralsei does and what TOS looks like, it brings forth questions. Starwalkers are security units that have angel wings. Angels, huh? Like THE Angel? The one that the Darkners fear? Why would Starwalker birds take on the pure white wings if not to reflect that? Well, they're defense units. It's clearly meant to be a scare tactic. But that doesn't really show Ralsei's connection to TOS... right? Ralsei, like TOS, also doesn't turn to stone at all, shares their silhouette when they first meet, and wish to prevent the Roaring by banishing the Angel's Heaven. By studying The Angel and taking on their characteristics, these defensive forces can examine dark worlds and help ensure that the prophecy is fulfilled. You can't win a war without knowing your enemy...
Or maybe... they ARE the enemy? Maybe THEY are The Angel?
...I dunno. This was a braindead thought I had at 3 AM that I took too far lol.

My favorite theory is that Toby Fox uses our theories to create the next chapter of DR /j. In all seriousness, lovely video, I liked it a lot! One of my favorite theories that you mentioned is the Knight Papyrus theory. At the moment, it's pretty hard to say which character is the knight (if we know the knight at all, they could be a new character) but Papyrus has always been so high up on this list because he's so freaking mysterious. I really hope we get to see him in DR (I don't even care if he's just waving at us out the window, show us the skeleton, Toby!) because when I played UT I listened to every phone call with and without Undyne and looked at every video about him because he's just. that. interesting.

My theory is that Kris is the true antagonist of the story. Gaster can travel between dimesion and can see different timeline (at least i think) so he saw when the player had full control over the story a lot people died (genocide), so when he saw a new timeline (deltarune), he decided to limit the players power with the legend, in this way the player couldn't kill anyone, BUT for safety he putted in each dark world a guard (Jevil and Spamton) so if something went wrong he could free the guard. Kris in the second chapter decided to bring a person to kill (Noelle), Noelle isn't part of the legend so she could kill. And when the snowgrave route finish Gaster decide to free Spamton giving him the disk to stop Kris. This theory it's problably fake but I think some part might be true.

One of my theory’s is that every lightner has a darker counter part SPECIFICALLY Susie and Lancer.
It’s seen in chapter 1 that Lancer has quite the abusive father, even threatening to throw him off the roof of the Card Castle. And later in Chapter two, Lancer is extremely excited to have his own room, implying that he shared it with his father.
Susie covers most of her face in chapter one, only revealing the scar when Kris is in danger with the Spade King. My theory stems from the thought possess that the dark worlds are supposed to help the lightners with their real world problems.
I believe that the first chapters main goal was for Susie and her fathers relationship. At first lancer runs away from the thought of his friends standing up to his father or in this case killing him, and Susie even fights lancer because of her own misunderstanding. The only reason (I personally think) that Susie shows her scar at the end of chapter one is because she’s mentally ready to handle the responsibility of standing up for herself to her father. We never get to see where her house is after all.
And to further go this theory. Noelle is the main focus for Chapter 2, mainly the connection with her mom. There are many subtle hints throughout chapters 1 & 2 that Noelles mom is the Mayor. Much like the power that Queen has over the Cyber world. Queen wants to make the world her canvas, so to speak, and specifically asked Noelle to do it, knowing that
    1) Noelle is easy to manipulate.
    2) Noelle has a hard time saying no to things asked of her, especially after December went missing
Queen knows that Berdly would have been happy to do it for her, but she specifically asked Noelle, and Noelle at the end of Chapter two, gains the strength to stand up for herself, much like Susie in Chapter one
I could go on and on about this theory. So if you want more reach out I guess

And Kris likes Susie twice as much as Ralsei. that may not be overt hatred but they clearly don't like him very much, viewing Ralsei as slightly above a stranger. My personal theory on why is because when the camera cuts to Susie, Ralsei was doing it to have a conversation with Kris without the players influence, and whatever Ralsei told Kris during that time Kris clearly wasn't a fan of. Also Ralsei seems pleasantly surprised Kris had no visible reaction to his tea which might subtly hint that Ralsei actually thought Kris would have a negative opinion of him.

My theory (and popular fan theory) is that the voice who says that your guy is discarded, is chara. This is because in the Japanese language, the is a difference in spelling for formal and informal language, like if you said hello, it would be equivalent to saying hello to your boss or when it’s informal, your close friend. Chara is the ONLY PERSON IN UNDERTALE to speak formally in Japanese, that is a specific difference specifically chosen for THEM. You know who else has that exact way of speaking? The discarded voice. Through this, we can also confirm the character creator voice is 100% gaster, because he has the same erratic speaking patterns of constantly switching between kanji, katakana and hiragana. Also the fact that chara speaks with type 1 text, meaning in the English version, chara speaks with bold white text with no sound, that is a specific type used for cutscenes (which actually fits in this setting) or chara talking in the genocide ending. And I think that’s pretty neat.

The Japanese text doesn't prove anything either, since most characters in the Dark World speak in formal Japanese. In fact, Susie uses formal Japanese when threatening Kris. This means it isn't any more likely to be Chara as it is to be Susie.
I think it's much more likely that this is simply Gaster trying to sound more threatening after discarding your vessel.

In a part of the video you mentioned that Lightners don’t have merchandise due to possible design changes in future chapters. This is definitely plausible but I think the lack of merch has more to do with the escapism story playing out in Deltarune. Darkners are a form of escape for Lightners, and this could also be a theme in the real world, too. People use Deltarune, the actual videogame, as a method of escapism and buying merchandise is a part of that. Having almost exclusively plushies, shirts, pins and more of characters who represent different forms of escape (like Lancer being the personification of a Jack of Spades or Queen being a computer) can have some lore implications. There’s more to this theory than what I’ve mentioned but it’s really interesting and worth looking into!

  • @LucaAwooca
    @LucaAwooca Год назад +1

Someone else might have already said it, but I thought the reason why Toby stated he is selling merch of darkners is because darkners are literally objects in the light world given form through the thoughts and feelings of the person creating the dark world they inhabit. It's more "normal" to him to sell them because they're already inanimate objects in lore, and now they can be an inanimate object in your home. This is in refrence to 3:15.
Also during the Tea theory section at 6:40 ish there are additional details that I think are meant to establish this, in game, as fact rather than theory. It's important to look at the descriptions as well as the numbers. Susie tastes the apples she assiociated with Kris because Kris uses apple scented shampoo and they shared that apple related incident talked about during the Spamtom Sweepstakes. Ralsei tastes blueberries because, from his perspective, Kris is just blue. But what's interesting is it's not deeper than that for him, and I'll swing back to why. Noelle is the only one who's description of Kris tea is a little deeper, having an unplacable aftertaste. Noelle has a complicated friendship with Kris. Also I think it's more about perception rather than a linear scale of "like-dislike", however it's hard to really get that nuaince when it's just numeric representation and why it's important to factor in the descriptions. Kris being healed less by Ralsei tea could be because he's unnerved being constantly reminded that Asriel isn't around. Or any other number of factors. I seem to recall (but can't find a source to confirm) that Ralsei tea will also heal Kris MORE during a route where Kris has hugged Ralesi during the swan ride, please fact check that before believing it though.

actually ralsei is not intrested in kris romantically, he is interested in the player. at this point all of us know that ralsei will blush if you get too close to him for a while but what most of us don't know is that he doesn't blush when he is in direct contact with kris' sprite he only does when is within soul radious. also we know that the red soul is something unique to the player only and no human can get a red one without being possessed. the fact that kris can live without a soul even for a little while supports it. the soul is the culmination of your being and losing it would logically kill you instantly. so that means when the red soul is kicked out of kris he uses his own soul to survive but for some reason re-equipping the red soul, is this part of a plan of kris' to idk do something or whatever?

@@gingergingey8271 uuh actually yes we do its pretty obvious ever since chapter1
first of all in ch1 in one of the boxes puzzle if u screw up enough ralsei will tell you to move the boxes using [Z] with susie replying with "who the hell is [Z]" so he knows about the keyboard and that moving boxes takes a push of a button
also in both ch1 and ch2 when we and ralsei are alone and wondering whats happening with susie he tells us to "close our eyes and imagine what she is doing" and now tell me how in hell would kris "imagine" what susie is going through 100% down to the details? with noelle's ride and lancer's fight.
also each time we close our eyes when we come back to see kris they are suddenly talking about something with ralsei, with ralsei saying the line "so that's why ok kris?" if he wants to talk about something with kris alone but doesn't know that a 3rd entity exists why would he only talk to kris if his eyes are closed? he knows of our existence for a fact and wants to have the conversation with kris alone without us hearing about it for whatever reason
hope that convinced you after all that's just a theory of mine and I do see that its pretty likely looking at all the evidence, I will respect your opinion on whether its right or wrong regardless after all its just a game
also its kinda weird I remembered a comment I wrote to a video and the theory I wrote and went on to defend it A YEAR LATER! damn crazy about this game

“That eliminates Kris” well yeah if you assume the closet was where the knight was. And about the books thing:
    1. If what you’re suggesting is true then Berdly and Noelle would have seen the knight in person.
    2. The books don’t mean much as we see that Susie and Kris are positioned at the table despite having never gone there themselves so we know that things that go in the dark world don’t necessarily come out in the same place. So the books could also have reappeared there after Noelle and Berdly walked in holding them.
But if the man behind the tree (which is in no way confirmed to be gaster neither is there much evidence for this) is the knight then it could make some sense. A large closet appears in both light world equivalents of dark worlds. Chapter 2’s text implies that it is hiding something. The only thing I can think of to hide in both chapters are either the secret bosses or the man behind the tree.
Also that left up up thing is crazy clever
My main issue with a lot of knight theories including the one I just proposed is that it would kinda suck from a storytelling perspective. Like the big reveal of the knight is just fucking papyrus. Like that would be so stupid. Someone from the town would make more sense but even that is still kinda out of the blue. Imagine if the player up to this point hasn’t talked to the town people or found secrets. Then the story wouldn’t make as much sense

I have made a couple theories that I've been trying to make known, but still not many people know of it.
They are fairly long to get through, but I have summarized them pretty good I think.
I have a metric-BUT-TON of evidence if you want a more detailed description and reasoning, but whenever I post anything, people tell me it's too much to read and to summarize it. So that's what this is. I hope you won't skip it just because it is long. I think that it's going to be worth reading.
    :)
    Theory number #1
The bunker is Deltarune's equivalent of THE CORE. Since the Core is supposed to be the power source that operates the entire Underground. And while I won't talk about it here, it's exact power source is left weirdly ambiguous to the point that Alphys stops talking about it when she wants to gush about the process. Implying importance towards the plot point, while also not really reveling any lore about where this power comes from. With many themes of "Darkness" in the core. Darkness totems, the dark lighting of the general area, being made by Gaster *BEFORE* his disappearance, and a couple other small things. Indicating that the "Magical thermal energy!" is actually darkness.
    Theory number #2
This one actually builds off of that last one, but works even if the bunker doesn't = the core.
The theory is that because of the CORE's influence through every part of the Underground, using darkness is what lead to the monsters being more "Magic" that "Physical" and also explains why they can use magic.
    Theory number #3
This theory is more of a question without an answer. It's simply me asking WHY nobody remembers/knows about the dark worlds. Darkners seem to remember a time when Lightners played with them. While we assume in Ch-2 that what Queen and the ciber-worlders are talking about must be the internet outage, we don't know that for sure. And when it comes to other things it gets even weirder. Kris grows in LV every chapter that we close a fountain, and overall the game has an undertone of a set destiny where choices don't matter. The reason I specify "destiny" rather than "control" is because of Kris's grim narration about the toy at the hospital.
In Undertale, LV was the indication of how 'distanced' from our love and compassion we are, thus making our attacks hit harder against monsters who are effected by the emotional intent of their attackers.
It could be that Kris knows these dark worlds and cares for them somehow. Using this logic, we can assume that closing Dark Words/DW's causes his LV to increase as though we are killing people who he knows. That added with the Spamton Sweepstakes info that we got, Kris 100% has always known about DWs due to him telling Noelle about ICE-E being real to scare her, and Noelle's subsequent mini-story about the pizza box being berried. Also because Ralsie is the ONLY source of information we have that multiple dark worlds being opened will end the world, despite some evidence of their being more of them in the past, says that the roaring might be a lie on Ralsie's part, so it.
    Theory number #4
this is the biggest one of them all. This specific theory of mine says that Ralsie isn't lying about the exitance of The Roaring, but is either lying about what causes it, or ignoring it's effects on Kris. The theory goes that, because of the nature of a 'fountain" in the real world is an underground spring that gushers forth when too much pressure is built up it's starts to come out of the massively large and pressured water reservoir *_underground..._* How is one made? A lighter has to poke a hole in the ground. meaning that lightners aren't so much _making_ these fountains with their own power, but just releasing pre-existing 'darkness/darkness magic' that was already there and building up underground.
(I originally thought of this because I was like: 'how could a being of light make darkness?' and expanded on it in thought)
So this theory actually has 2 different scenarios.
@scenario/1 Ralsie wants to build up this pressure underground, likely causing it to explode all at once if there are no fountains to release this underground reservoir's pressure. With THAT being the trigger of the roaring.
@scenario/2 Ralsie is honest, but either doesn't realize or maybe care that "Absorbing" dark fountains has some kind of an effect on Kris. Whether it's a good one or a bad one..
Please Note: (I say this, building off of the "Kris Is A Darkness Sponge" theory created by a RUclips user who's name I can't remember from a JaruJaru video from about half a year to a year ago. )
(I can't really search for him now but if you really need the credit I could probably look up the video and scroll until I see the OG comment and then tell you the name. idk if he was the first, but as far as I can tell he is the original creator of the theory. That theory exploring how Kris could be absorbing the DFs into himself based on some text with the most important text being Spamton's attitude towards Kris in general, calling Kris a "Little Sponge" and "Funky-Little Worm!", describing Kris trying to close the Ciber-Wrold fountain as "TAKING"/"STEALLING" his fountain.) I don't own *that* theory.
(PS. please do not attack me for using HE instead of 'they' for Kris. It's easier for me and I just don't want people to fight over it. If you want to fight over something small like that, get over yourself. No offence, but I've been attacked and almost doxed for it one time a long time ago.)

Here's a theory that I have, MK is a lot more important than you think. His odd importance that is given to him more than usual (the fact that they made an entirely new sprite for him in Deltarune instead of just reskining the old one like the others already is weird enough), him triggering events in Undertale with Undyne despite them making no sense and Goner Kid. Goner Kid is like the vessel we see in the beginning of Deltarune Chapter 1 which means we can reasonably say that he's have some kind of power that we don't know off which makes sense because it explains why he keeps on appearing places in Waterfall with no explanation whatsoever along with the children characters in Undertale being really OP for some reason. This counts as an Undertale and Deltarune theory because when MK goes into the Dark World (like seriously, notice a pattern with the other students?), who knows if he'll be OP

Susie, Berdly and Noelle weren't in Undertale, besides maybe a few references, and they went to the Dark World, but characters that were in Undertale such as Temmie and Monster Kid haven't gone there. While the position of Noelle, Birdly and their books could indicate that the fountain could have been made while they were in the classroom (and it would make little sense that Noelle and Birdly being as smart as they are to just waltz into a suspicious room), I think that Kris still has a chance to actually have been the one to create the fountain in the computer lab.
Remember back in Chapter 1, how Kris and Susie woke up in a different place compared to how they first entered the closet fountain, and hold there were objects randomly placed in the supposed unused classroom? It could be the same for Noelle and Berdly. They could just as easily woke up differently compared to how they entered, and their books were miraculously placed infront of wherr they were sleeping. (I know I'm pulling at straws, but just listen.)
Know remember Kris' little free roam during the end of Chapter 1? We don't actually know if he only ate the pie that night. He might've secretly planted the fountain in the computer lab while we weren't looking.
This could all just be a bunch of bologna, but it could explain why he had a knife with him. (It would be pretty dumb to bother ripping the player out just to eat some pie.)

they could've just thought the light was off, and also, in case you tried to use it, who would go into a computer lab, when there's no internet, lemme tell you why, something school related like studying, and, dark worlds don't immediately drag people in unless someone has already entered it which disproves the knight entering any dark world so far, and you change positions in the dark world, we know this as a FACT from chapter 2, Kris and Susie are not where they should've been from where they entered, they're closer to the desks than they should, and they're a bit too to the right to have been logically able to get there while not moving.

Plus we got signs from chapter 1 that the story Ralsie told wasn't the entire legend, because if you don't let him tell you the prophecy then when Lancer arrives he mentions a teardrop-headed kid in the legend (i.e. himself). That doesn't sound like Ralsie was really hiding anything though, just that it's a really detailed legend and he was giving us the abridged version.

    Here is my take:
Ralsei is evil theory is baseless and originates from poor story imagination. He certainly hides secrets, but there is no evidence that he's evil. I think it would be stupid to just classify him as evil or good in the first place. Because everything in this game could be very complicated, and we don't know what's the deal with him yet. This theory just makes the most simple explanation for him being sus. I would easily just put it in E tier for how stupid it is.
Ralsei is Asriel theory is more of an obvious reaction for those who played Undertale rather than a theory. That's clearly what the game wants us to think. It can well be true or not. If we rate theories on how smart or stupid they are, i would also put it in E.
Spamton had a call from Gaster theory is also rather obvious, but i think it is correct with a very high probability. It's easy to figure out, but since it's just likely correct, i'll give it an A.
Sans from Undertale and Deltarune is the same person theory is C. Not much to say about it.
Tea theory is easily S. Do i really need to explain? I agree with what was said in the video.
Gaster is in the bunker theory gives me pretty much the same impression as sans theory, but i would say it's a bit more likely to happen, so i'll put it in B.
Gaster speaking in the beginning is pretty much 100% true, and that's also very easy to figure out. That's pretty much an S. But i would want to separate it from what was added later, and it is that Deltarune had already happened but without us. I would put this part in A.
As much as i personally hate You vs Kris theory because i don't think that's exactly a good plot, but my guts are telling me it is very likely to be true, so i'll put it in A.
Now regarding the who is the Knight theory. Idk what made him think that Kris is the least likely, when it is literally the most obvious option that comes to mind. That's what the game wants us to think with it's plot. Surely, it can all just be a trap and Kris isn't the knight, and it is also a very likely possibility. But i still think that despite all of this, it is still very likely that Kris is the knight, so i'll put it in A. I would put Gaster also in A, just because he is the one who has a lot of importance. But Alvin? Seriously? That's what he thinks is the most likely option? I see why it could be, and it would be truly surprising to make such seemingly unimportant character to be the knight. But still... I think it is quite silly, i'll put it in C. Papyrus sounds similarily absurd, but since he's more important character, i'll put it in B.
And i'm suprised that in this whole video he didn't mention the chess theory at all. I mean, there is a lot of theories left that weren't even included in this video. It does say that it only considers the most popular theories, but i thought the chess theory was popular enough, i would put it in S. Because we already have characters like King, Queen, and Knight.
What about the shadow crystals theory?
And also the secret bosses souls order theory.
Oh, i just remembered, he didn't mention any Dess related theories at all, there are quite a lot of them.
Yeah, you defenitely need to make part 2.

  • @diegocalderal

I think that Ralsei is hiding something, but I don't think he's evil. I don't think that Ralsei and Asriel are the same entity, but one thing to be sure of: They're both connected in some way. Obviously Spamton isn't the wrong number caller. I mean c'mon, how can he call to the Undertale world? Also, Spamton didn't exist when Undertale was in development. I don't think that Sans is from Deltarune because they theory doesn't make sense. Like, I think that Deltarune is a time loop, and him changing from Deltarune to Undertale doesn't make sense because that would make Deltarune a prequel to Undertale, which Toby Fox said that it isn't true, so that theory is wrong. I think that tea theory is correct and it makes a lot of sense. I think that the bunker is connected to Gaster, but I don't know how to use Gaster in Undertale/Deltarune theories. I think that depending on the route you're making, the player is good and evil. Like, if you're playing pacifist, then the player is good. If you're playing aggressive, then the player is neutral and if you're playing snowgrave then the player is evil. But even if the player is evil or not, Kris wants to get rid of them because they're being controlled by them. About the roaring knight, I think that they're a new character that we haven't seen yet.

    • @willichtenstein7071

I think Delta Rune is a world Asriel created. The over world looks like a pacifist ending, but Mettaton's Neo form from the genocide route pops up. So it makes me think this is a reformed Asriel from the Pacifist route who had to experience an incomplete genocide run. Namely if the player is stuck on Sans. Asriel could of grabbed the souls to remake the world into what he thought the pacifist ending was. That would explain Ralsie's knowledge of the over wold.
Then there's how wary some of the characters are to the player in Deltarune. Ralsie conversing behind the player's back. Sans sits behind a counter and is no longer joking with the player. I start to think Sans intentionally kept Papyrus away. Like protecting him from a no mercy run. I half expect Ralsie to be pulling a Sans and trying herd the player down a pacifist route. All to figure out how stop the player from choosing to reset the game and go down the bad route.

Ralsei seems to know things about the light world (like the school,) and doesn't always give information to Kris or Susie. Also, in chapter two, Ralsei does not turn to stone. Also, Kris's brother is supposed to arrive from college in chapter 7, so this could be a interesting twist. Especially since I think Kris might be the final boss. The only things I'm not sure about is the whole Ralsei likes Kris thing. Ralsei might just recognize Kris (as mentioned in chapter one at the start of the game)

im not an expert but theres a few more arguments for sans being from the deltarune universe in addition to them "just showing up one day"
    - in his secret room behind his house, he has a picture of three people that frisk "doesnt recognize", and it says "dont forget". Kris, Ralsei and Susie are a Trio ( 3) and dont forget is the name of deltarunes theme. and if the three people were like sans, papyrus and gaster like i saw people say often, frisk wouldve recognized papyrus.
    - in one of the Somewhat recent papyrus q&a's, hes asked where he came from. he starts saying he remembers green grass but sans cuts him off. probably the only way papyrus wouldve seen green grass before coming to the underground is if he was a lightner in the deltarune world because . Theres grass.
    - hes the only character shared between UT and DT to stay the exact same.
    - the door to sans' room in undertale is the same as the fast travel door in deltarune
    - Impretty sure there was another piece of evidence but i forgot lo l

My personal theory regarding Gaster is that he made contact with sans and papyrus while they were residing in the world of Deltarune. Obviously this makes sense for Sans and there's a lot of hints in undertale that Papyrus knows more than he lets on, so I think them being like backyard quantum physicists honestly fits. It's also possible they just happened to be randomly contacted by Gaster and instructed how to build a more convenient means of communication. Anyway I think the skelebros and Gaster started collaborating on experiments, Gaster learning of the dark fountains and the rules of determination in their world. This explains entry 17, he's communicating across worlds about the results of his experiments. I think gaster tried to make a dark fountain for some reason. But because the rules of determination work differently in undertale, it went horribly wrong, causing him to fall in. This is why we see his fingerprints all across the dark worlds in Deltarune, that's where he ended up primarily after shattering. I also think the dark world being created in the world of Undertale led to a sort of fissure being created between the two worlds, which is perhaps how Gasters pieces ended up there and how Sans and Papyrus were able to travel between the two. The rest, like how it all relates into the bunker and how it relates to the larger plot of Deltarune I’m unsure of. I have a pet theory in terms of why Gaster created the dark fountain and the existence of the angel in Undertale and Deltarune respectively, but its long winded and convoluted and is probably gonna be disproven.

I just thought that i would say that it seems ralsei isn't the only Darkner that knows about the light world because in chapter 2 queens says that the cyber world in only in the library which shows that ralsie isn't the only person who knows about the light world, also i have seen people say that it is weird that ralsei can go to other dark worlds, but in chapter 1 we travel to a different dark world by going through the great door which implies that the dark worlds are connected, the reason i say castle town and the card world are different dark world is because when we seal the dark fountain in chapter 1 we can still go back to castle town, also people say ralsei should have turned into a statue in the cyber world but ralsei says that his fountain is made of pure darkness and that is why other darkners can live in castle town, so i would assume that ralsei can go to other dark worlds to because he comes from a dark fountain made of pure darkness
P.S while i do think ralsei is hiding something a lot of the evidence that it in most theories can be explained
