    So much wasted potential I so hope he has a great day Would love to see him on the podium. On a unrelated note, my son when he was 13 and I met him at a race, it was the Collins cup. He had just come in from a ride the day before the event he was sweaty tired and spent like 10 minutes talking with my son who absolutely adores him. It was really great and Lionel was gracious and kind and engaged.

    If you ask me in person, would love to see him win there but it seems to me that he is always on the run to find his special force by watching other guys! Hope that he is now convinced that he might listen to himself!

    Cracking 5th place will be the best result for LS in KB's (the GOAT) generation. The game has changed. Lionel's camp only talks about KB's training as a result. They never talk about MA or Jan's training. LS coming off the bike in 8th - 10th place then running up to 5th-ish. This would be a dream scenario.

    No. They no how to prepare for a race and not overtrain, and come to the race and get the most they have.

  • @ZenEndurance
    @ZenEndurance 3 месяца назад

    Thank GOD he's finally figured out what actually works. Just ITT these races and quit jacking around with wacky training and reactive racing. If you're a top pro, you're already so good that just racing at the reasonable limit of what your metrics say you should will get you to top 10. And then halfway through the run, THEN decide if you want to go nuts and try to run people down or play games with others. Let others blow up from overreaching and pass them by. Now let's see if he actually does it on race day.

    I’m likely the biggest fan of Lionel But An individual Time Trial at Kona will not work. I hope I’m wrong. I hope it’s all smoke and mirrors but he needs to rip the bike to get to the front no option. You can’t give 4-5’ to either Magnus, Ladlow, or the Norwegian Train on the run. He just needs a swim and come out with bike fire power like 17 with Wurf, Skipper and a few others.

    • @andrewmetcalfe9898
      @andrewmetcalfe9898 3 месяца назад

      It’s not going to work these days. There is too much firepower on the bike within the first two swim bunches for guys like Sanders - and even Wurf and Chavalier - to bridge up if they come out of the water 4-5 minutes down. Last year in Nice Wurf had a great bike bike - but he was solo the whole 180km - and he couldn’t bridge up to Ditlev (he nearly did but stacked it on the final decent), and guy like Laidlow gets the benefit of the lead motorbike and media vehicles as well IF he goes off the front as he has done for the last three IM WCs.
      The only chance that the ‘plus 4 to 5 minute’ swim bunch guys have is if the likes of Kallin and Rasmus Svenningson go on a suicide mission and they can hold on and bridge up BUT still not go above a NP of around 320 watts until they connect with the Ditlev-Laidlow etc bunch BEFORE Hawi. That being said, Wurf might have a chance, as he is probably a 50-50 chance of making the second swim group and getting out of the water only 90 seconds down, and alongside other strong bike riders like Ditlev and Hogenhaug.

      Well said couldn’t agree more. Foley had a you tube video awhile back and basically said the only way is to smash yourself on the bike but that’s the cost you have to in order to bridge.

    Stop obsessing about what Kristian Blue is doing with his training. You keep saying that everyone is unique but you keep stalking KBlu’s workouts. Then he shows up and you jump on his 1k interval run and risk overcooking yourself.
