- Many people have shunned the idea of barrel & go being a viable Curation divination farm. However, upon testing it, I felt it had some serious potential and might even rival that of the juiciest Curation farms (at least for solo gameplay). To get to the bottom of this, extensive testing would need to be done, and estimating drops via weighting the cards would be mandatory. Let's see how real it is.

I've done about 40 maps like this, and it was the most fun strat for me so far in poe... always fun to see your videos too! keep them coming!

Let me preface by saying this is a great video and I love your content!
I've (heavy MF build) ran around 100 maps as well (curation w/o preservation) and while I've profited, it was not at all 80-110d div+ an hour, and my biggest loss streak was the last 40 maps that I've ran at around 50-60 div loss total, not making any profit. Terribly unlucky? Haven't really watched other people run this strat so don't know what to expect luck-wise, but I definitely felt underwhelmed by the returns here.
My thoughts:
1. Preservation scarabs at 6/ea are very difficult to buy, which is why I've ran plain old curation. At 8/ea it just starts making more sense to not run preservation altogether, as you're getting 2/3 of the loot at 4/5 of the investment costs. Snoobae also agrees with that in his comments, so it’s better to stick with double div for now.
2. "I would find it hard to believe that I would lose currency even after 20-30 maps" -- this is very easy as this strat not only relies on high value cards to drop, but for the stacks to complete themselves. In my run of 100 maps, I've dropped a few unrequited loves and apothecaries and ALL dropped as 1x, not a single one dropped as a stack.
So to summarise, in my opinion preservation scarabs don't make sense to run instead of 2x div scarab with current prices as of today (I wonder if this video contributed to that :D but also before it it was kinda rough to buy them), and also wouldn't recommend anyone to try this unless they can run this at a huge sample size, because you can easily invest a few hundred divines into this and make no profit whatsoever. I imagine at a sample size of 100+ maps it would be profitable, but with any smaller sample size I'd imagine it could be very very rough.

Thanks for your detailed reply. 40 full maps in the red sounds rough, but more likely to occur with double divination scarab, I suppose. I'm currently running double divination with shaper allflames sometimes. 13+ div per map investment. Definitely lose money at certain spurts.
Have you considered using allflame ember of k'tash plus the necessary atlas points to increase div card drops? Given that this strat doesn't involve any allflame in particular, wouldn't it be an easy bonus?
That's been tested extensively. It doesn't work.

Ahhhh, gotta go to misc. tab and find Divination bulk there. Also have to move the regular single drops you want only showing in bulk as tier 5 or less value.

100 maps of Crop Rotation would be interesting to see - I got ~1.5 million total juice in 8mod T16s with my current character but it'd be interesting to see how much more you could get in T17s.
Crop rotation is how I've farmed most of my currency this league (I'm not quite at the point of farming t17s) and I've been wondering how it would do in t17 maps. Would % increased currency affect juice, or is that just basic currency? I might give it a try and see how it goes.
T17s arent better for harvest
I've been doing this non mf and I seriously get bogged down rolling maps I never accept less than 38, but I don't know does rarity impact barrels. Im considering doing a MF build as I've 900d sitting from all the farming just to see the diff

hi, pretty cool video, is the barrel strat still viable atm, would u recommend it? i'm doing 15-17d/hour doing Elder Guardian farm so anything more than that is good for me tho
Preservation scarab rose a bit too high, so Curation with double divination is more viable now.

I've been making 20-30 div per hour running betrayal on white maps and farming veiled orbs. Costs a few chaos per map. I'm really surprised more people aren't doing this.

im using your regex, but it has reflected damage in it. Do you have a way to not take reflected damage?
Yep! Pantheon + respec elemental mastery makes me immune to all elemental reflect and take 60% less phys reflect. I also swap Frenzy for Blast Rain for those maps.
Why are most highend strategies on fortress? Does it have a higher mob count than other t17s?
They spawn extra barrels naturally on the map.

Bad news. First off, you can't mirror an already mirrored bow. Secondly, I got it through TFT service while it had the temporary enchant as mine. You can probably get the TFT mirrored now but with a different enchant.

Hard to say on what parameters your setup the pob. Just a ballpark number: 20million.
With some cool mechanics being introduced this league, its a shame the disparity between groups of players is so large, with some, not all, at the top really outweighing the average player. That being said, still an interesting league anyway.
I'm not quite sure what game you've been playing for the past couple years but there has ALWAYS been a select amount of people at the very top outweighing the average player by an order of magnitude not even measurable by said average player. This league actually allowed solo players to participate in some of the highly profitable strategies with the release of Glittering, Curation and Bloodlines scarabs etc. I would even go as far as to say that this is the first league in almost forever where solo players actually have a chance to compete with groups as a lot of strategies can be done solo while leveraging those new scarab mechanics.
@@FangzTV This, the average player was always behind not just groups but behind in hardcore players (not hc hc) you can't competet players who has 20 hours playtime daily and btw don't compare yourself to them, every game is the same, if you have the time and the resources you can make more money, like in real life and the disparity always huge, you just don't know about, same in real life, you get 4000$ a month or 5000$, but some dude get 50000$ monthly, which sound big, but there is a dude, who get 50000$ / second, which sound insane but still real, so what then? is your life worse because others are more succesfull? I say no, change your life, if you poor irl, try to make it better and if you poor in game, try to get more free time, switch job etc
@@FangzTV tf are u on about. last league solo players could exclusively use all winged scarabs on every map with sextants. this league, solo players are way more outpriced on barrier to entry with doing the high end strats. at one point the curation strat was 50 DIV PERMAP. you're dead wrong here

The only reason the Curation scarab went that high in value was because of the interaction between the Invasion scarab and the Anarchy Allflames, which allowed people to literally print multiple mirrors per day. That was not intended, and has been fixed. Now there are several high investment strategies out there that solo player can take advantage of, even if they're not MF with group or aurabot, by using Glittering. Anyone that goes for a decently tanky build with reasonable damage can farm these strategies and make an absolute ton of currency.

on what types mobs u use abyss allflame?
I forget the name, but any mob that burrows as a natural mechanic. Also the packs that spawn with invulnerable shields.

@@snoobae8553 I was buying them in batches of 20 maps, between 94 - 100 div a session, so around 5div per preservation. overall in about 120 maps, 2 stacks of nimis, 4 stacks of seven years, and countless stacks of gifts ;-) haha. No unreq's though.

988d - 750d (only 100 horned scarabs not in bulk) = 238d - 70d (maps not in bulk 0,7 each) = 168d - 11d (divs scarab) =157d - chaos roll (idnk how much)
Expect to spend around 80-100c per map to roll it - I usually estimate it around 0.8 div per map to roll, so roughly 80 divines to roll these maps. I’m running LA though, but if your build could run any regex at all, it could be a bit cheaper (but don’t expect under 50c rolls).
Yeah this strat does seem to me (and plain curation) like “high risk - low reward” in a sense that after subtracting all the costs, you’re actually not making much ROI on your investment. Compare this with just barrel and go scarab farming - which will cost rouughly 150div to run 100 maps and you’ll be making probably at least double that in revenue.
How much does your build cost?

I wager you’re dropping maybe 5-10% less loot with no MF than someone with a solid MF number. Most of the loot comes from barrels, unaffected by MF.
idk how it's 6d/map , 5+ preser scarabs are 6.3-7/ea , + 75c to roll 1 map + maps , it's like 8. Also, I've tried scarab barrels farm , got only 55d in 20 maps with no iiq gear and 35d invest, idk why profit was so low but surely not worth to do , maybe it was shadow nerfed or I got extremely unlucky
Im not sure if snoo ever counts the map invest correctly I highly doubt it. Im convinced he doesnt count map rolling and counts everything as 1 piece buy price. Also everytime I follow his strats I also dont even make half of his profits and I have multiple mirror tier character too - either we are extremely unlucky or streamers client is real or he makes 5 videos and puts out only one that he got lucky for it to look insane
But you are also no mf so can make big difference
I bought Preservation scarabs for 5div a piece 48 hours ago. One extra divine counted for the map and minimal rolling, as it's just barrel + random currency mod. Easy to hit. I mentioned in the intro Preservation scarabs would probably go up, given how few are on the market, and that once they reach near two thirds the cost of Curation scarabs, you're better off running Curation scarabs with double Divination scarab. In fact, right now you're probably better off doing that.
By the way, if you are paying like a full div more for Preservations at a bulk of 4-5, it actually makes sense to buy them 1-2 at a time. I mean that's a big difference in cost.

Why respec on ice shot ?
You mean over LA? A few reasons including Yoke of Suffering being buffed this league (shock regardless), and Ice Shot giving 10% more conversion on the gem.

Detonate Dead something I believe is the lowest viable budget build that's good at T17's.
@snoobae8553 budget isn't really a problem. I can't stand DD or I'd try it. I spent 400-500 div on 3 different builds now and they all just get one shot. Splitting steel, vaal bv, and int stack

How 6div per map just 1 scarab is 9div?
He used Horned scarab of Preservation, that one keep other scarab not spent/used so he doesn't count other scarab cost per map. when he bought it, it was around 5Div + 1 div of Fortress map. So 6Div per map. Now Preservation Scarab is like 7.5Div

Yes, very. Probably get ~95% of the loot value with no MF because barrels don't matter.

Thank u I think I’m gunna play again and not worry about what everyone else is doing. Near 0 investment and I can farm corrupt 8 mod maps all day long easily. (Near 0 because I self sustain the maps). And I sell the ziggurats that drop for nearly 100c. Idk man.
those guides doesnt do anything for an average player sadly..... most of people cant even do t17 ....
I know. At least I have a couple guides out there from the beginning of the league more suitable for the more average crowd.

You are not wrong. It's hard, but there are some strategies at least to complete a T17 so you can get the 5 slot. Farming in T17s is a whole other problem. However, I think the most important thing is having a build with at least ok damage, like 5mil plus vs shaper and understanding the mods that can roll. If you are patient and have a hundred or two chaos, you can roll 3 or 4 T17s that can be done and farmed for currency or scarabs with a normal build.@@KalaszhPOE

Preservation scarabs were 5div each when I recorded this. You might have missed it, but I'm not paying for Curation scarabs.

@@ChappyIT The preservation scarabs causes your other scarabs to not be used up. Hence he only had to by a new preservation scarab for each map he ran, other 3 would still be there.

So, giving div per hour on this strategy is a lie simply because you don't count the time to open all the cards. By the time you opet all the cards, someone already made 100 divs

I do open most of the cards. It's not that big of an ordeal. Typically do it in casual mode.

3.8div before or after investment? I mean, I think people are sleeping on the viability of T16's this time around yeah. Anything that is capable of pushing 100div an hour is a great strat, for sure. My results were below average, evidenced by the normalized weightings of the card. If I normalize the drops I did around 6.5div per map. The very map after this dropped 16 unrequited, so there's that. xD
Oh and one more thing, these are not juiced T17's. They're the opposite of that. Back-to-basics barebones. Quick maps.

Honestly I just love blasting maps without a bunch of prep and super high end strats so b2b barrel and go has been a banger league for me so far !
Interisting. Its impossible. You told that invest to maps is 600x div. Only Curation 100x 10div = 1000 Div only for curations.
He uses a scarab that makes the other scarabs not get used, the price of that scarab as when this video was recorded, was around 5,5-6d per.
The scarab is called Preservation.
Have you listening what he said? He use the scarab of preservation for keeping the 3 other scarabs alive. This scarab cost 5 divines at the moment.
