Kung Fu Panda was just pure growth for the character as a whole & was absolute peak. Honestly, KFP3 felt like the perfect ending to a franchise. Each villain stronger & more conniving or twisted than the last. An amazing story about a panda searching & finding who he is. The fourth movie really just took all that & threw it out the window 💀
I mean it was confirmed they would have six movies or more, but they could have at least made the chameleons backstory somewhat good being too short to learn. Kung Fu is the stupidest thing I've ever heard and the mantis genuinely would not exist if that's how it works
I see what you’re saying, like with the Chameleon, she could’ve been a better villain if they had shown her backstory a bit more and if her evil intentions weren’t so rushed, like cmon now the most evil thing she did was kick a guy down the stairs, throw Po off a building, and take masters Kung Fu.
They could've also add the Furious 5 in it they're a good vibe in every movie since from the start, Po proved them that he's fit to be the leader of the group and master oogway?! The trilogy literally went through, in order, finding perfect balance and mastery of his body, mind, and spirit. It was one of the most satisfying conclusive endings I’ve seen for a trilogy. Every one able to be a perfect standalone film.

And here I thought Dreamworks was going to finally tackle Disney and surpass it, at least for a time. But Teenage Kracken, Megamind 2, Kung Fu Panda 4?! After the Last Wish I obviously set my standards waaay to high for this studio. My disappointment is immense.
It seems like Mega Mind 2 and KFP 4 were just tests to see whether there was still public interest in the 2 franchises for future movies, as they weren’t heavily advertised, and had low budgets. Though even if this is true, it isn’t really an excuse for the poor writing.

Justin character development and backstories made genuinely. No sense random curry fox talks about chameleon, no one has heard of let criminal escape multiple times fox person immediately hated by armadillo for who knows why because character development is clearly hated in the fourth movie we learn chameleon uses magic and we never get a explanation to that either. Besides, they were too short (which completely goes against mantis existing)

I think Kung Fu panda is the first ever film I have ever watched in theaters. Even though I was born in 2008, I distinctly remember watching it, in theaters, at 2 months old. At least I like to think that cuz otherwise I might've mistaken the 1st with the 2nd. But I believe that I watched every single kfp movie in theaters 1 to 4 which I'm not gonna lie, was still pretty good.
Bro even though Tai Lung was redeemed, he still had little screen time. Heck, all the other mainstream villains like Shen and Kai had barely any, and they didn’t even speak!!
Just remember, nothing can ruin your favorite series. Not a remake, or a sequel, or a prequel, or what anyone says about it. Just ignore what you don't like, and love what you do. Because none of that stuff will erase the original stuff that made you fall in love with it. It still exists, and you can watch it as much as you like.

Yeah, the animation was good. It's one of the modern movies. Meanwhile, the past three were all from 2016 or before and animation has changed. The character development wise was absolutely garbage besides Po they made horrible reasons for the furious 5 to not be there zhens entire character doesn't make sense and same can be said for the chameleon and those are the two main plot points and characters of the new movie
