When I hear Mid, I think that means acceptable. A movie that isn’t bad but doesn’t really leave an impression. A movie that is watchable but not much else. But I think this movie is far too harmful to the franchise to be considered mid. It’s character assassination for almost every returning character and also breaks a lot of the world building. The movie isn’t unwatchable but I think that it causes too much damage to the franchise for people to be okay with it.
I think Tai Lung should have had a redemption of sorts in this movie. Have Po offer Tai Lung the role of being the next Dragon Warrior, but then have Tai Lung decline, since he now accepts and understands that it isn't his right nor was it ever his destiny to be the Dragon Warrior. Also Tigress should have been the next Dragon Warrior instead of Awkwafina.
@@active_individual Personally I don’t like the idea of Tai Lung becoming the next dragon warrior because he is dead. I don’t think they should just allow characters to come back to life by leaving the spirit world and never returning.
Tigress is the Most disrespected character in History - Orphan - no one wanted to adopt her - no friends and isolated in the orphanage - Tries hard to win Shifu's affection as her daughter - Lost Dragon Warrior to a random guy. - took a random guy one montage to be stronger than her - irreverent in KungFuPanda4 - rejected as dragon warrior for 2nd time, even though she has mature
KF Panda 4 would have been SO much better if it was about Po teaching Tigress to relate more to the normal populace that she holds a small level of resentment for, and the Chameleon pushes Tigress' buttons by transforming into the people who abandoned and failed her. Teaching that being the Dragon Warrior isn't about being the greatest martial artist, but the best person who can use martial arts to protect those who need it. Then have a bit of contrasting story with Tai Lung, Shen, and Chameleon where Tai Lung is slowly realizing this lesson while Shen is being a dick as usual and plotting well with Chameleon as a pair of evil assholes who make Tai Lung see that they are not what he wants to become.
@menhguinIt’s sad that a bunch of random people online have greater talent that the actual people getting paid to release slop like this. The literal only difference is passion, the fanbase is passionate about wanting a genuinely good story with and for the characters they’ve been following for years. I refuse to believe there isn’t some kind of large scale intent to all of this. It almost feels like sabotage, like nobody misses this hard with such well-loved movie franchises this frequently and in almost the exact same way over and over again without some kind of intent.
Here’s how you fix the Chameleon: 1) Give her a damn name. 2) Instead of an in-universe contradiction, make it that she never had the courage to actually do kung-fu herself and thus needed guises. 3) Make her able to take forms through observation, not random vore magic. Thus leading to: 4) Have her only have brought Tai Lung back in the beginning as her anti-Dragon Warrior weapon, with the intention of using him to be able to witness Po’s abilities in full. Ultimately leading to 5) Po being her ultimate objective because _at the end of 3, he was the most powerful kung-fu Master on the planet, leader of the Valley of Peace and, rightfully by 2, should be a hero renown throughout all of China._ Having his strength thereby, in her mind, making her the strongest. A villain with weakness, vice, an actual plan that progresses through the film and an end goal that aligns without plot holes or retcons.
Exactly. I thought some kind "mimicking" ability would have been far more in par with the kung fu lore and interesting to explore instead of some "soul-absorbing-magic" (because as the video says: why doesn't she just one-shot Poe?).
Fun Fact: the director didn't want to give The Chameleon and Zhen Backstories. And by the time the rest of the crew finally convinced him, it was basically too late.
No backstory? that's stupid. its alr keeping it a secret for a while into the story depending on who the character is and how the backstory ties to the rest of the progression plot motion, but they better make it good with the reveal.
Its not an anomaly, its perfectly expected. Dreamworks was always the hit AND miss studio, for each shrek 2 there's a shrek 3. The next good dreamworks movie may come out in this very same year, in the name of "Wild Robot"
This might be a Hot Take, but I believe that Puss in Boots 2 suffers the same problem as MM2 and KFP4 in where the movie misunderstood their own franchise. The Shrek world parodies fairytales by putting the characters into a realistic world, Puss in Boots 2 misunderstands that by using an art style that thrives on unrealism, making the setting a fantasy based on the character’s psychology instead of aspects of the real world, and worse of all, introducing a god-like deity along with dictators and manipulators that could actually exist in the real world. Puss in Boots 2 is good unlike the other 2 sequels just because it works as its own film
Kai being here not only doesn't make sense but also irresponsibly nerfs and diminishes his established character. He can take people's Chi. What is stopping him from taking the chameleons? What is stopping the Chameleon from taking Po's Chi? And if anyone says 'well cause he isn't a spirit' bull crap cause that's what he becomes in the third movie a spirit warrior. Edit: and what is EVEN FUNNIER is that they could have kung fu panda 4 if they actually played with the idea that Po IS a spirit warrior (thus immortal) and just made everyone else OLDER. Hell even SHIFU'S CHARACTER IS DIMINISHED cause he picked what FIVE STRANGERS? That Po has NEVER SEEN OR MET BEFORE as candidates to become the NEXT DRAGON WARRIOR?! THE FUCK?
I'd like to think of it as like his spirit "vomitted" all the chi because it was too much for him to handle the same way a stomach can't hold too much food
Bro literally the whole point of the dragon warrior was that he was the ONLY one. It’s not that a generational thing. He was the first , and (supposed to be) the only.
precisely, I despise it when sequels directly contradict the lore just to expand it's lifespan when the second film should've concluded the entire franchise..
Oogway implied in the third that he was setting this up from the very beginning, that he saw the "future and past of kung fu" in Po, and that he was chosen for that exact reason. The effect of that has diminished quite a lot now, huh?
What's sad is that the co director wanted this movie to be more like 1st and 2nd one's bit wasn't allowed to since the main director had the control...
Yep and the director is the guy who Always think Animation is for kids kind of people AND HE GETS ALL THE CONTROL FOR THIS MOVIE whoever is the PR...... Thank god you don't touch other studios thx
Yeah this is why Gamingmagic13 was right about Toy story 4 & Incredibles 2 but that film was changed to the worse of retelling thanks to Josh & his film! So Incredibles 2 wasn't just a letdown but a victim of Toy story 4's Existence so now that film officially got something a tribute which is K.F.P 4!
I love the Kung Fu panda Trilogy. It does kind of suck that it had to end at 3 but I'm glad they did, because I don't know about you but the fourth entry in a franchise is usually where the downhill starts. 100% Glad that a fourth movie does not exist.
@@TheProblemStarters306 I wouldn't say amazing, it had its share of flaws and the whole chi ordeal kinda broke the stricter martial art power system established before. Also kai is just not as compelling as tai lung or lord shen for a variety of different reasons. Overall a pretty good 7/10, but not amazing, like its forefathers with absolute 9-10/10s
I'm so glad someone else agrees that Po would have picked Tigress to be the next Dragon Warrior. There is no way that Po wouldn't pick Tigress, someone he's known and trained with for years and sees as a close friend, over some random fox girl that he first met trying to steal relics from the Hall of Heroes.
@@witherverse1351 Oogway was also a wise kung fu master that knew Tai Lung couldn’t be stopped by any of the Furious Five, which Tai Lung escaping was why Oogway said they needed to choose the Dragon Warrior. He knew that it needed to be someone who could withstand Tai Lung’s powerful attacks, which Po excelled at thanks to his fatter physique. Po was also immune to his nerve strike since Tai Lung couldn’t find the right nerve points. Now that Po is the one choosing a successor, he most likely would choose who he thought would be the best for protecting the Valley of Peace, and this would probably be Tigress. And while she was the complete opposite of Po’s fun-loving personality in the first movie, she has been shown to grow and be more relaxed in the later movies, instead of being brash and serious all the time like she was before meeting Po.
@@rezthefalcon yes but you could argue that would be boring from a story stand point Or you could argue it's a dick move Like she works 20 years to be chosen as the dragon warrior, instead a random panda gets chosen, obviously making her mad. She then would basically have to wait 5 years to be chosen as dragon warrior If anything the problem is that shifu is forcing po to choose a new dragon warrior when it is 100% too early This could've been fixed by establishing an amount of time has passed such as 5 or 10 years
Why do people think Tigress or Tai lung should be the dragon warrior? They’re both bad options and slaps the previous movies themes in the face Based off Po, dragon warrior seems like it’s not solely a strength or experience thing, it’s more so personality and inner peace, which tigress lacks. Despite briefly being in the movie, she seems content about the role she plays. While she does improve personality wise through the movies she most likely wouldn’t take the role if offered to her.

It wasn't even narcissism, the dude had such a hatred of the panda race because of the prophecy and as a result he tried to eradicate them. Then over the course of the movie he can be redeemed, eventually becoming the next Dragon Warrior ONLY when he finally lets go of his ambition and begins to respect Po. Also, cut Zhen entirely or leave her as a minor character in service of the Chameleon.
Hell yeah. I was SURE that Thai Lung will come to Po and warn about the Chamelion. Imagine scene with Thai Lung and Master Shifu. How he repent for what he did.
Chameleon should’ve been a combination of Tai Lung, Lord Shen, and Kai. Testing Po’s strength, will, and spirit all at once. A missed opportunity with the chameleon is that she could be disguising as people throughout the movie, such as shifu to gain information on Po. Or heck, she could’ve shapeshifted into Po’s mom, that would’ve really destroyed Po. But NOPE! They didn’t do any of that.
That….actually sounds like it would have been 🔥. A character that can transform into anybody has great potential to be menacing since you can’t really trust anything.
I'm surprised that the shapeshifter never bothered to just transform into the people closest to Po. Its such a missed opportunity. Like, imagine if she was a total sociopath who was hell bent on manipulating and breaking Po at every turn, using the face and voice of those he loves the most. But nah, just copy the villains from the past, give the real villains no voice lines at all, and make a flat, unintimidating, one dimensional villain.
I hated how they nerfed all the villains. Tai Lung was a mad fighting machine being able to destroy armies. You can hear Tai Lung's anger everytime he screams and when he says "Who denied me my destiny" Shen was a guns-blazin' psycho maniac. He was toying with Po's emotion like a puppet. Allat for him to get absorbed in 2 seconds Kai literally swept Po and made him tell the other pandas to run for their lives. I dont think a guy with that much power was caged that easily when he cut literal mountians
I do get why a super being would defeat shen. Despite his status in the fandom, he is the weakest villain physically in the entire franchise. This is because he doesn't have any special abilities. Even tai lung had those nerve stopping punches.
@@N.I.A23 Well yeah the point of Shen is that he wasn't a master of Kung Fu so he created a way to kill it through mechanization. So why is Shen in the spirit realm? The Kung Fu Panda trilogy was the perfect representation of body, mind and soul. Po in the first learns how to accept himself as a fighter, Po learns to deal with his past in the second, and Po gains the spirit of the dragon warrior in the third. What makes the fourth the worst is that Po never learns anything. Its just another boring, rushed, cash grab "adventure" that gives the studio an excuse to run this franchise to the ground.
What they ACTUALLY should have done with kfp4: -Remove the return of Shen and Kai, Shen got crushed under a god damn ship and died to his own cannon balls he ain't coming back, Kai got completely eradicated and erased in the spirit realm he also ain't coming back -Bring back the furious 5 -Rename and give The Chameleon an ACTUAL backstory, here's an idea: name her Princess Chamelia or smth like that, and her backstory would be something along the lines of her and her family getting humiliated by kung fu masters and she ends up training and learning magic and she becomes more power hungry and she defeate anyone in her way without mercy like the og masters humiliated her family a while ago, hell an even better idea imo is that the chameleon's and the pandas had an ancient war and The Chameleon has beef with pandas after her parents got killed in the war so she learns magic and takes her rage out on Po or smth like that -Make Po not give his dragon warrior position -Make Po bring back Tai Lung as a last resort once he gets defeated by the chameleon, then they both work together and defeat the chameleon (not without some beef before tai lung acceps po's offer tho) -Tai Lung gets his redemption arc and Shifu finally becomes proud of him -Make Tigress the new dragon warrior in a future movie -Remove and scrap Zhen entirely -Bring back Po's intelligence from kfp3
Hell you dont even NEED to scrap the new character, just instead of immediatly give him a big role in the first movie we are introduced to which wouldnt make sense, end the movie with Po teaching the little guy , or tell him that while he may be unworthy of the dragon warrior title he may become a well respected Kung Fu master of his own in the future with training etc...
Respectfully, I take a lot of issue with a lot of your ideas to. To tackle a couple, -Princess Chamelia is a god awful name, especially when we’re supposed to be crafting an intimidating villain. Think Tai Lung, Shen, Kai, and then Princess Chamelia? One of these things is not like the other, one of these things doesn’t belong. -Your first idea for the Chameleon is fine, problem is she’s just such a weak villain it’s difficult to make her work, but the second is terrible. Big issue I take is that it completely goes against who the pandas were to place them in a war setting. Like wtf? It doesn’t work. Also, we’ve already had the panda race play a big role in 2 and 3, it’s time to let new ideas happen and explore more areas of this world created. -Po would not be bringing people back himself. It was unnatural to resurrect these people and I assume it throws off the balance of the two worlds, spirit and mortal, which is why the villains had to be returned. It also just introduces a myriad of other issues. -Shifu is proud of Tai Lung? Have you forgotten perhaps Shifu’s most powerful moment in the series? “I have always been proud of you. From the first moment I have been - proud. And it was my pride that blinded me. I loved you too much to see what you were becoming. What I… was turning you into. I’m so - I’m sorry.” -Tigress should not have become Dragon Warrior and neither should Tai Lung. It was not their destinies, they were on their own paths, the first film made that clear. Here’s a couple of ideas I would put forth. - Have Chameleon actually defeat Po rather early in the film, end of first act to early act 2. She takes his staff, cages him and forces him to watch as she resurrects the villains, culminating in Tai Lung. - This is important. When the Chameleon takes someone’s Kung Fu, they should lose it too. This leads into my plan for Tai Lung. - They escape narrowly, the Furious Five busting in to break Po out. Po, unable to leave Tai Lung, knowing the connection between them and the trauma he continues to suffer, brings him along with them. He is reluctant, brash and abrasive, but with little other choice, his Kung Fu gone and surrounded by foes, he accepts and they leave for the Jade Palace. -With their Kung Fu lost, Po and Tai Lung both have to train side by side. This allows for a humbling of the characters, maturing them throughout the film, creates an interesting dynamic between the characters, and allows for a deeper development of Tai Lung and Shifu than the one scene most fans probably expected, as they would train under Shifu. This also allows to work Shifu into the plot. The Furious Five meanwhile will continue to contend with the damage caused as the Chameleon grows in power, and prepare for the coming battle. -In the end, have Po offer the Dragon Warrior title to Tai Lung, but he turns it down, because it was never truly his destiny, and he is content with where he is now. He has to go back to where he belongs. He says his final farewells to everybody, has a heartfelt goodbye to Shifu, before bowing to Po and Po to him, and he willingly returns to the Spirit World. This of course isn’t every aspect of the film, it’s not a film redo, just a few bits and pieces that I believe would greatly enhance the film.

Nah, just because Shen got crushed under his cannon does not mean his soul did not enter the Spirit realm with the other dead masters, so it was no surprise to see him there. Besides, the director announced his plans for the fourth film months before it was released to the public, which included the return of all of the last three villains summoned back from the Spirit realm through the Chameleon’s magic. For me it was no surprise to see Shen back in KFP4 as the Spirit realm is supposed to be the afterlife world, and besides, this is also a fantasy genre too. The other one regarding Kai’s defeat however makes sense.
This makes me think that in the time that the writers' strike was going on, someone thought it would be a good idea to write a self insert fanfic and while extremely drunk send it to the directors, who, without other options since the writers were still on strike, decided to roll with it. That would explain the whole "pass the adventure" to a completely new and boring character, and would also explain Aquafina.
Fr, ngl we should've gotten either tigress or atleast tai lung instead, since they both trained for the scroll but naw, just give it to the random character who knew some stuff about the villian and backstabbed the villian in the ending... l o g i c
Smh dragon warrior was a destiny thing,Po was always destined to be the dragon warrior. Tigress and tai lung at least are renowned fighters despite not being the dragon warrior
Even from a character view they wouldn’t take the title. Tai lung is considered to be evil and can’t really be redeemed, Tigress just wouldn’t take cause she doesn’t think she fits the role, she even accepted not being it and respects Po
Honestly, I think that Po passing on the torch on the fourth of a six-movie franchise is beyond stupid. We've already seen master shifu become to Po what Master Oogway was to shifu, so why is Po passing on the torch at such an early age? Shouldn't Po search for a team of future successors WAY before choosing the dragon warrior? Shouldn't at the very least Master shifu pass away before Po even considers passing on the torch? This movie should've been about either redeeming past villains or Po learning to be a master to a new team of warriors, NOT passing on the torch to a character we just met. If this was the case, then the fifth movie could be about grief or accepting death, as shifu slowly showed signs of old age, and after his passing, the last movie could be about passing on the torch, not only to the next dragon warrior, but to the next master of the dragon warrior. Hell, the next master could be tigress! She really deserves it.
Zhen became the next dragon warrior because WE GOTTA SHILL AWQUAFIIIIIIINA! Seriously, this DEI hire is quickly becoming an instant red flag whenever she's in a movie.
Here’s my rewrite: First, the Tai Lung scene at the beginning. Still have him crush all of Chameleon’s minions, but add Zhen to the fight to establish her early. Then show Chameleon’s sorcerous powers as a natural counter to Kung Fu used in a simple, battle-oriented manner as Tai Lung performs it, so she can win in a reasonable way. Then Tai Lung manages to escape after losing his power and reluctantly decides to track down Po, the only person he’s willing to consider arguably stronger than himself, so that he can take revenge and retrieve his stolen power. He replaces Zhen’s role, acting as the opposite of Po’s personality, trying to resolve every encounter with violence (in place of Zhen’s roguery). Rather than Po somehow needing to learn peace, it’s Tai Lung, and Po is the one trying to teach him. Zhen is a recurring minor antagonist throughout the film who uses trickery, cunning and traps to try hindering their progress, but is ultimately foiled at every turn by both Tai Lung’s ferocity and battle prowess as well as Po’s wisdom and good nature. These are the ways to show the parallels. As an example, Zhen hires local criminals in a city, Tai Lung beats the mooks within an inch of their lives, while Po befriends their leader, who decides to turn over a new leaf, taking his groaning and injured subordinates off to do good deeds instead. Have a gag where Tai Lung shows disgust and says he’d never let himself be “redeemed” like that while Po just looks at him with an expression reminiscent of Oogway. Then over the course of the movie he can actually go through enough character development to become redeemed, most likely at the end. Show that Po is noticeably stronger than the Chameleon, but needs to use his abilities carefully lest he cause collateral, or maybe she says the stolen abilities will die with her, so Tai Lung keeps insisting Po hold back because the entire reason he recruited him was to regain his powers. We can then have Po take an arguably suboptimal and obviously foolish decision to save Tai Lung’s life during the final fight which costs him his own Kung Fu, making their shared enemy stronger than ever before (evil Po now having a reason to exist as a design) but inspires his old foe to awaken his inner strength and surpass even his old stolen powers. Tai Lung then defeats the Chameleon by using a more spiritual form of Kung Fu like what Po had in KFP3, eventually becoming recognized as the next Dragon Warrior ONLY when he finally lets go of his ambitions and begins to respect Po. He can with great reluctance say something like, “Perhaps I was wrong after all… You really were worthy to be the Dragon Warrior.” He bows as in the movie, then Po bows back and says, “No. *You* are the Dragon Warrior now. You’ve earned it.” Choosing his old foe, now friend as his successor. Like, I get that it’s a bit cheesy, but I think it’d be a lot better than what we got while still maintaining the same cast, themes and premise.
Shen hated Po so much he let himself die instead of letting Po forgive him and joining him Even Kai makes no sense because he would never bow down to him. My man was fighting and collecting the chi of every single master in the spirit realm just to fight a guy who beat him 500 years ago. Theres no way someone that dedicated would bow down to a panda who killed him
Kai saw Oogway as a brother, but his lust for power was always there. By the time Oogway stood against him, he was long gone at that point. Even if they tried to redeem the villains, Kai is just as irredeemable as Shen. Not only was he denied the power to rule over all, but he was denied by someone he loved as a comrade.

I'm so glad to see someone else holds this trilogy in such a high regard. We both respect these films, more so than the creators apparently. At least whoever was involved in the making of this fourth film. I hope there will never be anymore sequels to come from this, they're not acceptable and certainly not necessary. I hate how forced the storyline was of passing down the torch and the narrative of "change" when true change doesn't come from force but from the opposite: a voluntary decision. Did we once in the movie see that Zhen even wanted to be the dragon warrior? Sure, she may have had a change of heart but why make her the next warrior and get rid of Po so disgracefully as if he has no purpose anymore other than to crack stupid jokes and get fat eating dumplings. And speaking of free will I definitely saw no realization moment for Po that he genuinely wanted things to change in his life. The whole movie he didn't want to give up his position as the dragon warrior (and why did the movie want him to retire so badly anyways? He barely got to be the dragon warrior for that long!). In the beginning when Shifu made him choose a new dragon warrior to take his place he pointed to himself and even at the end when he "passed down the torch" by giving Zhen the staff it seemed so forced. He didn't "choose" to give her the dragon warrior role he was forced into doing so because "plot". It's just honestly so poorly written it hurts because these movies and characters, especially Po, mean so much to me. His growth and development and acceptance of his self and his determination to never give up, even when he struggled and so heavily doubted himself, has always brought me back to watching these movies again and again and being inspired by them. But this movie failed to inspire me and it failed our beloved franchise. You deserved better, Kung Fu Panda. You deserved better.

you know that half the people in the spirit realm were crooks. Shen was banished for 30 years he could have learnt kung fu in that time. He does use some kung fu maneuvers and he was a master swords man. maybe master swords man count as well?
Whats happening in Hollywood? It really feels like every single great movie series has been ruined one by one *on purpose* . They aren't just make mediocre sequels, they're destroying our heroes.
Hopefully this will teach you that your "heroes" are just corporate products and that you shouldn't attatch your identity and sense of self-worth to a product.
@@lazaroskarmaniolas7410 ...Looks like we have a Sherlock Holmes here.😅 I haven't financed Hollywood in years. My rhetorical question was precisely to stimulate critical thinking about why they're deconstructing the works and "heroes" of cinema (obviously an expression for popular characters that masses like and who're generally a reflection of the moral state of society or vice-versa, not "role models in life" ), hopefully leading to the issue of neurolinguistic manipulation and how the world's biggest propaganda machine is preparing young people for the value-inverted and culturally babylonian society of "Gr3at R3s3t" (and at this point I'm not even talking about that movie, which is an almost harmless example of that aversion to the heroic and responsible male leader figure - You can start by looking at what Disney is doing). I'm glad you can easily use your apparent self-expressed anti-capitalist intellectual and emotional dominance to see this bigger picture tho. 😬
It's happening that most series we know are becoming quite old and new Inexperienced people are now working on the shows, i would give em 3-4 years props.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who sees a uncanny resemblance to Star Wars, I genuinely hope that it doesn’t meet the same fate as Star Wars because like you this was one franchise of my favorite franchise as a kid.
@@antonypastrikos7036 that’s if they hire the same director or someone like him, I hope the Co-Director gets her chance to direct the next one since she wanted this movie to actually be good.
@@ZG2008I have seen some comments pointing out the differences between the director and the co-director but I'm uninformed on this issue. Sadly I don't think meritocracy will prevail, it would however be a blessing and a breather in these trying times. Here's to a not so shitty kfp5 and kfp6..
At least Gary Oldman didn't degrade himself by getting involved in this shitshow. His performance in the second movie was the greatest voice acting in the entire series, which is no small feat. However, a brilliant actor can't save a shitty script unless they also happen to be writers.
Hold on, a movie about Tai Lung's redemption interwoven Tigress' rise into the next Dragon Warrior would've been the perfect mix of "the obvious continuation" for the fans and a huge pool of love and passion from the people making the movies.
What I hated is that EVERY OTHER VILLAIN at least had some personal connection to Po,that made the fights a lot more epic, Tai lung was refused the position as Dragon warrior and had the same master as Po, Kai was an old friend of Po's master's master, Shen Literally committed GENOCIDE on his people, not Chameleon tho just some boring villain who's only connection is a plot device
Very good point, no wonder we all felt key points missing from this extremely horrific contraption of a movie. Quite disappointed after watching it in cinema today after patiently waiting 2+ years 😔
@@bymistakeonly It really was, I was only 10 when that movie came out. And oh boy we took those 3 for granted. The jokes, the writing, the quality oh man it’s good enough that even now as a teenager I still love them. 4 though? It’s what you’d expect from a movie called “Kung Fu Panda.” Enjoyable for kids, not so much for adults.
9:57 So Zhen was actually a villain and gets chosen as the dragon warrior but Tai Lung never gets chosen despite how wronged he was and his original passion for the title? okey dreamworks, makes sense....
Well, no. If you remember, Oogway rejecting Tai Lung was the final _test,_ had Tai took the rejection with grace and humility, he would’ve been granted the title. Kung Fu Panda 4 is still an abomination, but worth mentioning.
@@phoster3322"If you remember" what exactly? There was no mention of a test whatsoever in any of the films. Also, he didn't just reject him, he told him he was evil. Is telling your student he's evil part of the test? I'm not even going to acknowledge the last part of your comment.
Po choosing Tigress would have made so much sense and would have worked way better. 1. He already idolizes her (also has a crush on her). 2. She already deserved the title the most in the first film, and now even more so. (key word being deserve here) 3. She is the peak at physical Kung Fu, but where she always fell short was the spiritual side due to her upbringing and emotional neglect. This is where Po and her are completely different. Po could be the one to help her overcome her upbringing, connect more with the world. This way, we are shown that Po is able to function as a spiritual leader and Tigress' character finally gets the development and spotlight she deserves.
@@73chenj By him accepting that he is not the dragon warrior is the only way to redeem himself. Not only that, he demonstrated numerous times how he doesn't deserve it
You touched on a very logic point. Why couldn't the next Dragon Warrior be Tigress?! It would at least make sense! Plus, DreamWorks really p1ssed people off lately. They released one of the best US animated movie of the decade: Puss in Boots 2, the Last Wish. It's a sequel of the sequel that follows a secondary character from Shrek. And it's sublime. The movie was crafted with so much care, passion, sensitivity, humor and wit. It got praised by critics, the public, fans, content creators all over the world. And the movie was also a financial success. *What's a bigger green flag than that to keep investing in great sequels?!* Especially now that major players like Disney and Pixar are missing the mark badly? I'm pretty sure they could delay the release of Megamind 2 and Kung Fu Panda 4 to improve these films, make them with high quality. I'm also pretty sure the public would be ok with waiting longer to watch a good movie of their beloved franchise than to witness a hurried release of a bad movie that starts a series of crappy movies of that same franchise. GEE, DREAMWORKS GET YOURSELF TOGETHER!
You know what would've made for a good villain to tie into her being a chameleon? Have her fight her way into a dojo and struggle to he accepted because she hadn't found her own style then be ostracised and expelled once she managed to get in because she could only copy others. Show how she was told constantly that copying others could only get her so far but saw it as a mockery of her talents when in actuality, her master tried to turn her away from the easy road that leads to a pitfall. Have her eventually take on another chameleon as a student and brainwash them into believing that her way was the only way they could fight. When the student starts showing talent and originality, she shuts it down, showing how her bitterness is turning her into a mirror of the strawman she made of the people trying to guide her. She takes the place of Aquafina. Student bonds with Po and finds that they share many struggles, including being made to conform to a standard they couldn't meet because it wasn't in their potential. Po, in learning from Shifu, sees the student for what they can truly accomplish, helps them achieve their true potential. In the climax when Po is betrayed, have it reveal that this was their plan all along, empowering the villain and making her feel overconfident but the student finds it in themselves to overcome their abusive master, showing her why she was misguided and why her masters told her why what she did was wrong, that being the fact that even if she could use other techniques, she could not master them the same way and make it her own. It's still only built on what the movie's plot could have been and it could actually have been even better had this movie been shown more love. It still pales in comparison to the heart-wrenching emotions of the first and second movies and depending on the presentation, would fall short of Kai's intimidation factor. Still, we would at the very least have a semi-decent villain that not only reflects the previous chapters of Po's journey while showing off its next, but also lets Shifu take solace knowing the dojo is in good hands and maybe even sharing the cherry blossom scene that Oogway had while reuniting with Tai Lung, showing how his journey has ended and he was able to give his dearest pupil a second chance at reconciliation. But yeah no let's just let everything die a mediocre death why don't we.
The fact that tai lung was not the next dragon warior is the biggest miss of all times since it would have been perfect for him, but instead we got 2:30
I would've been perfectly fine if they had Po offer Tai Lung the role of Dragon Warrior, only for him to decline and say that he realises he has his own life to live and will make the world better without needing to be the dragon warrior. Tigress Could've 100% received that title, and to satisfy the mid writer that decided Zhen should be the dragon warrior, lets have Zhen join the furious five or something, in place of Tigress
I really hate the idea of Tai Lung being the Dragon Warrior. A Tai Lung redemption is a good idea, but his being the Dragon Warrior would undo the first movie.
Man, this is just sad. If they wanted to make something like passing down the torch there were 2 fascinating characters that they just "forgot" that could take the role. Tigress: I mean, in theory, if Poh, didn't fall from the sky she'd be THE one. She'd be A MILLION times more interesting than Zhen and we could deepen way more her character if they added some sort of conflict with Poh in the sense that maybe she was still a bit jealous that he became the dragon Warrior instead of her. (And don't even tell me that she "can't have that" because she already reached inner peace by the second movie. Bullshit, they quite literally changed Poh's character from the conclusion and acceptance he got from the last movie, they can bend Tiggress to have this resentment she needs to let go.) Tailung: Simply what a powerful story of redemption it'd be if Tailung got all of his kungfu stolen by the chameleon and Poh found him in the real world re-teaching everything he learned throughout the movie, while he learns forgiveness. I don't know what DreamWorks was thinking, all I know is that I want a bit of what they were smoking.
If you wanna go in character, tai lung wouldn’t take it because towards the end he sends Po his regards, and can see why Po became the dragon warrior and not him, so no tai lung is to far to be redeemed. While Tigress would probably be a better option of the two, she just isn’t mentally fit for the role. She was aggressive towards Po and envied him in some moments. Granted she gets better in kp3, but she did come to odds not being the dragon warrior, so probably wouldn’t take the role if it was an option
I was waiting for a 'redemption' arc for Tai since they announced KFP3, even though he was actually evil in the first movie. Imagine if he's forced to go along with Po and slowly learning to respect him and accepting why he's not the Dragon Warrior. What a waste of a great nuanced character.
Could've been a redemption movie for Tai lung, who manages to escape the spirit realm by beating the shit out of the chameleon, and goes on a redemption arc with Po to eventually become the dragon warrior, and the two of them could take on the chameleon once she's more powerful after taking Kai's chi or smthn idk
@@PA071N3 Sounds good, but the whole Po and Tai Lung friendship sounds forced, and making Tai Lung the Dragon Warrior would undo and ruin all of 1 and 3. Just make Po the leader of the Valley of Peace, but keep him as the Dragon Warrior. Tai Lung just lives there now, I guess.
I still think Kung Fu Panda 4 would've been a pretty solid movie if they just removed the annoying Fox Girl, and replaced her with the Chameleon from the get-go Imagine this; the Chameleon, a character whose ENTIRE GIMMICK is that they were told that they can't become a Kung-Fu warrior because of their circumstance at birth. Where have we heard this before? It's literally the exact same as Po's origin. His journey as the Dragon Warrior was entirely built on the premise that he was a PANDA. Someone who CAN'T fight, but he uses his unique properties to use Kung Fu his *own* way, not relying on others. Imagine if the entire first half of the movie was Po taking this fox girl to the palace in the city, while the fox girl slowly opens up about her insecurities with fighting. However, Po realizes a potential that she herself doesn't realize; he literally sees himself in her Then in the second half of the movie, it's revealed that the Fox was the Chameleon the entire time. Conniving and manipulating Po in order to get the staff, like she wanted. Then she goes to steal the Kung Fu from the other bad guys, as initially planned, and Po has to fight them. But he doesn't want to fight them, instead he realizes that fighting isn't the answer anymore. Instead, he needs to convince them through diplomatic means, the way Oogway would've wanted him to in this narrative. Po tries to stop them, and tell her that she is so much more than her stolen techniques, to no avail, because the Chameleon has convinced themselves that they aren't worthy. Big spectacle fight goes down, as planned, until eventually Po knocks out the Kung Fu magic from her (through gimmicky movie magic means) Then she goes at him, one last time, fighting using her OWN abilities, not using magic or stolen techniques. But this is what Po wanted. He was never going to lose this fight, but it was never about winning. It was about proving that the Chameleon had what it takes to not just be a Kung Fu master, but the Dragon Warrior itself, like him. The Chameleon realizes this, and she has a full breakdown afterwards, and Po takes his role as the Spiritual Guardian, and begins to guide her on the path to becoming the Dragon Warrior. Her dream was being realized Then you could resolve Tai Lung's character arc by having him realize that his path was just too vastly different from these two to understand what it means to be Dragon Warrior. The same way Shifu was by Po. Being moved by their spectacular battle, realizing that he's now leagues below them, finally acknowledges Po before returning to the Spirit Realm. Seriously, how is it that with me literally using the EXACT SAME PREMISE that these people used that I was able to make a movie that actually cares about the overarching narrative of the story, as well as a satisfying self-contained plot? I don't even think the "passing of the torch" plot is good, I just wanted to prove that it *could* have been done so much better, even with the same ideas.
It definitely felt like they were on the right track with PIBTLW. Wouldn't call it the Golden Age tho, because The Kung Fu Panda/HTTYD trilogies would be the golden Age (And Shrek if you exclude 3)
@@arshiaaghaei I didn’t mind Shrek 3 that much, but I respect your opinion. I really enjoyed parts of PIBTLW because of how dark and mature it was able to get. Also, the wolfie was ironically so adorable, lol, same with Perro. It’s sad that Dreamworks and even how Paramount is handling the Sonic franchise are all catering towards just children and cheep laughs nowadays. This and the Knuckles series were incredibly mediocre and disappointing. Both could’ve been SO much better. Disney, however…MAN they’re in a bad shape currently. Need a total leadership overhaul over there 4 sure. All of entertainment nowadays are either settling for mediocrity or pushing a weird ideology when entertainment is meant to be an escapism from the horrors of our political world.
@@LordTylerBluGunderson The biggest issue with 3 IMO is the over-done humor and not really good jokes and how it ruins Prince Charming as a villain. As for Disney, yeah they've been really off their prime time by 10 years at the very least.
@@arshiaaghaei Yeah, I can totally respect that. They definitely tried way too hard with the humor in that movie and it falls flat at times even though I chuckled at some. Prince Charming was fine in that movie, but they did make him a little bit more annoying than he was in the 2nd Shrek. The last Pixar movie I can think of that I really enjoyed was Luca and the last Disney movie was probably Moana (although I somewhat enjoyed Zootopia even though it could’ve been a bit cooler imo). I’m really starting to get tired of movie companies nowadays promising a decently competent movie, but it’s ONLY a decent competent movie. Nothing surprising whatsoever. Hopefully from the looks of Deadpool and Wolverine would inspire movie companies to actually make more action-packed animated movies that are nonstop entertainment and not just settle for bare-minimum expectations. I really want to create movies that can give the audience escapism and nonstop excitement from start to finish. I really enjoyed the mature scenes from Puss in Boots 2. I would crave for a Muerto Lobo spinoff, but I’m probably asking 4 too much unfortunately :(
Finally, an opinion I agree with! I've seen so many RUclips videos reviewing Kung Fu Panda 4 and calling it mid or just existing, but I truly believe it is a horrible movie. The fact that the Furious 5 don't have any lines, the fact that the chameleon doesn't have any interesting motivations, the fact that the first three movies have themes in body, mind and soul while this one has nothing. It truly has the same feel that Megamind 2 does, just another movie from a popular franchise that greedy corpos want to milk for money
i'm actually going insane. the body-mind-soul thing is the dumbest interpretation of a piece of media that I have heard in my life. like, it is laughably bad. how the fuck did anyone even come up with this?
People have their rating systems entirely skewed people think 7/10 is mid , others think 5 is god awful and so forth, standards are so weird and yeah this movie sucked but people have a hard time saying something is just bad
This is why I stopped rating things. There’s nothing wrong with using a rating to try and build familiarity with the creator but this movie and other recent things I’ve found difficult to rate. It would be between a 2 and a 5 for me though.
@@Ezdubsquestion think of it a short for "middle". It's not a terrible movie, but it doesn't spark anything or make you think any differently about it. It's just *there.* Unfortunately, this movie sounds like a desecration of its preceding films and by no means is it anything higher than atrocious.
I sorta get what they were going for. They could have made a couple of changes for the better tho. Heres my little rewrite: *ACT 1:* the start of the movie is basically the same. We see Tai Lung breaking through a jail/ army but we just see the aftermath. Cut to shifu recieving the message that Tai Lung has returned. Concerned he rushes to po whos meditating in the blossom tree area. He tells po that Tai Lung has returned which makes po excited. "Alright! We havent had any big bad guys in a while!". Shifu gets angry and tells po that its serious and that he should treat it seriously. Po retorts that as the dragon warrior its his job to kick butt. Shifu tells him that hes not just the dragon warrior anymore, hes the spiritual leader of the valley of peace like oogway Po tells shifu that hes not oogway, and that he doesnt even know what being a spirtual leader means. He thought it was just meditating under the tree. Shifu explains that, life is like the cherry blossom tree. The seed is planted, grows, and eventually the tree dies. The leafs become one with the wind, the bark becomes home to insects and a new seed is planted which becomes the new tree. Oogway tells po maybe its time for him to move on and ascend higher as a master/teacher. Its time for him to plant a seed, and choose a new Dragon Warrior. Po is obviously conflicted. Being a kung fu master is all hes ever wanted. Its all he wants to do, he doesnt known how nor wants to be a leader like oogway. He goes to talk to tigress about it Tigress is now a caretaker at an orphanage. She works with kids and is surprisingly less grouchy. She hugs po when she sees him (fan service) and he tells her everything. She tells po that maybe shifu is right. Oogway chose a successor and moved on so why shouldn't po? Heres the first big twist of the story so far: through their conversation its revealed that po has been the dragon warrior for 10 years, and thay the furious 5 have retired, and disbanded in those times of peace. They each moved somewhere else except tigress which is still really close with po -----------‐---------------------------- *EXPLANATION:* If you didnt notice, the start of this movie is a mirror of the 1st movie but from the perspective of po who is in oogways position now. Its important to notice that i flipped the chsracter arc position of each character. Po was a loser who dreamt of doing something great, and a beginner in KFP1, but here he starts as an experienced kung fu legend that doesnt wanna stop. The furious 5 were pos icons in the peak of their primes in the 1st movie but here they are retired and disbanded. Tigress was a cold kung fu master training to be the dragon warrior also unwilling to listen to po, but here shes open and stopped fighting. Even mr Ping Retired to spend his time traveling with pos 2nd dad. Its a mirror of the 1st movie but everything is presented the complete opposite on purpose. In this re write KFP4 is the last installment of the po era. Its meant to be a send off to the characters but also a thank you to the fans. If you didnt catch it the theme here (like in the one we got) is moving on. The audience grew up and so did the characters. Back to the plot: -----------‐----------------------------- Po seems to agree with tigress. The whole ceremony to choose the dragon warriors stays the same, minus the screaming goat. Po cant move on from being the DW so he goes back to being that. He catches the Zhen stealing from the palace, she fights himoverwhelms her and emprisons her easily. The difference here is she beats po by taking advantage of his naive nature. She convinces him to take her on to go find tai lung (chameleon) *SIDENOTE:* The 1st movie was abour po being put in a physical test. Here he beats zhen physically but she outwits him. Like shifu said: fighting with your hands isnt the only form of combat. There are non physical ways to win a physical battle. We deconstructed the 1st movies core idea *ACT 2:* Similar to Kung Fu Panda 2, this act will focus on Po and Zhen traveling together. This is used to build up Zhens character. In this re write shes a good fighter but her style isnt unique. Its very logical and linear. But shes smart and uses her wit and instincts to overcome obstacles. Shes a foil to KFP1 Po who mastersd kung fu and beaf tai lung by using his body to fight, and unorthodox learning, while Zhen uses her strategy, linear thinking and wit. KFP1 po had confidence issues, Zhen doesnt (shes an experienced thief). Po let the natural flow of thinfs carry him, but she cant do that. Zhen reveals her back story and here its basically the same. The only change is po acknowledges that maybe he does need to move on. The cherry blossom seed scene happens but here Zhen shuts it down by saying shes amready at peace with who she is. They are who they are, theres no reason to change that. Po being set on being a "spiritual leader" even offers to adopt her as an apprentice to eventually become a master at jade palice. This act will flesh out Zhens character. She does objectively wrong things like being a theif but shes at peace. Thats her identity She can be a likeable one tho through witty humor. The act ends with po finding tai lung but its the real tai lung. He tells po he didnt do it, but wont mind fighting him again. The fight isnt as important but here we introduce the chameleon. Turns out she set everything up to bring po and tai lung so they could fight and tire each other out Here we make another change: she needs pos chi to open up the spirit world and summon all the kung fu masters so she can take their skills. Her motivations need to change. Thats why here shes again very similar to po. She started out as the loser like po. But she had no sifu, no oogway, no furious 5, no scroll, no Mr. Ping. In KFP2 po found himself. So in her we deconstruct it by asking : what if po didnt have all these leaders and mentors? Thats Zhen. A person just as motivated as Po was but who didnt have the same fortunate people to guide her so she turned to chi/sorcery based Kung Fu instead of learning and going through a journey like po. She wants to absorb pos "scroll powers" Chameleon steals tai lungs abilities. When backed unto a corner Zhen runs away leaving po to be beat. Similar to KFP2 Po makes a final stand. Po tells Chamemeon that there is no scroll powers. This makes Chameleon remark that if there is no power than she'll make her own by stealing every masters abilities to become a real dragon warrior. Using clever illusions and disguising herself as Zhen Chameleon manages to beat po and steal his abilities/chi. The chameleon leaves a powerless po and tai lung as they are no longer threats. Po encounters Zhen who came back for him. She hugs him but this time po pushes her away and not sure if shes another one of chameleons tricks, but also upset that she didnt change. They talk and Zhen says goodbye. po remarks that they are who theybare and they cant change that. They part ways. The last scene of this act is Chameleon absorbing the skills of every Kung Fu master and preparing to go absorb the rest of the overworld masters -----------‐----------------------------- *EXPLANATION:* Kung fu panda 2 ended with finding Inner peace and the main villain dying due to not being able to let go and be at peace. This act is the opposite. Po is broken and in turmoil not trusting anything. Zhen had inner peace at the fact that she was a thief who didnt do any good and only cared abt herself. Her conflict between staying the same self centered thief or trying to change breaks her inner peace. Again this is a foil to how KFP2 ends and a deconstruction of the emotional test
*ACT 3:* Po and Tai Lung have an awkward silent moment. Po breaks the silence by trying to talk to Tai Lung. Tai asks po in a annoyed manner why he still acts nice and light-hearted towards him to which po explains that he has no reason not to. Before he leaves po tells tai lung that a flower will never blossom if it stays inside the seed Po goes and sits by a pond. After looking at a reflection of himself that is distorted from the rippled water he thinks back to sifus inner peace training. He notices the dried up tree and grass where he sits and how on the other side of the pond its green and flowers are blooming. He realizes how much not moving on has held him back and finally understands the tree metaphor. He does the inner peace tear drop thingy but this time with leaves forming the yin yang logo. He needs to see from a new perspective he needs to see differently. From here on its his battle against shens army. Unlike KFP3 he does not have people supporting him, so he uses logical reasoning to sneak into Chameleonslobby. They begin to fight and at first they are evenly matched. Eventually chameleon starts gaining the upper hand by and cornering po. Thats when Zhen flys in along with the furious 5 together. Tai lung joins later Chameleon makes zombie clones of villain po has faced and sends their way. Massive fight breaks leading to a 1v1 between po and the chameleon. Chameleon starts shapeshifting and using illusions but this time po can see through it by reading the spirit. Blah blah fight blah blah theh win blah blah po realizes that he does indeed need to move on, but also decides Zhen is the perfect dragon warrior which surprises everyone (ESPECIALLY sifu). Master sifu reveals that he will leave since his mission is done and he ascends into the spirit world. Po asks tigress to take sifus place and she agrees. The furious 5 give Zhen her first lessons before saying goodbye to Po. The final scene is the sapling of the Blossom tree that sprouted -----------‐----------------------------- *EXPLANATION:* This one is very straightforward. Kung Fu Panda 3 was about the battle of spirit and self identity. We'll deconstruct this by diving into what it means to move on and what it means for each character. Po moves on by accepting the role of leader and understanding that dightingisnt always about punching. He understands the need of a leader who can guide people (from his experience with the chameleon and Zhen) Zhen moves on by accepting that just because she grew up and liked living in a self centered manner, it doesn't make it right. It alsk doesnt have to be her. She can be more. She becomes mkre by being the dragon warrior The Chameleon looses because she couldnt move on. Again shes basically a what if for po in this universe. That leads to her being left behind. *LASTLY WHY I KEPT ZHEN AS THE NEW DRAGON WARRIOR:* We deconstructed all 3 movies and flipped them on their heads. Since the theme is abt moving on and change what vetter way then ending the series with po changing what rhe dragon warrior is? Zhen is not a good candidate for the opposite reasons po was not. Po had no skill but he had passion and a good kind heart from the start. Zhen was set up as a bad person. She had the skills just didnt use them for good. Here she can be a dragon warrior that will have more empathy. Po changed the frame of the dragon warrior so naturally he needs a balance. Someone who is more logical and the opposite of him personality wise. That would be Zhen here. Also i tried conveying it but the whole story is a parallel to how we grew up and moved on with our lives. So did the characters Also the tigress and po thing is purely friendship. I wanted to end their story arcs somewhere that showed progress but also made sense. Tigress statted out hating po, she was hard to deal with, and wouldnt talk. How fitting is it for her to not only be helping him on hos own journey but to have him as a equal. Po completed his journey as the dragon warrior. He fought for justice, changed his piers for the better and managed to find a worthy disciple. If you look at the actual movies, po has always been changing people for the better. So thats the best way to end his story: him and his best friend (who used to he his idol) going together on more adventures to better their world
Sorry, but that isn't good either. Tai Lung deserved redemption. He was basically forgotten about until KFP4 and then he was tossed aside once more. I would change it by Tai Lung deciding that Shifu was right and betraying Chameleon. Post end credits scene is where Po chooses Tigress as the next dragon warrior, not Zhen, because she is the second character after Po to have character development. Meanwhile, Tai Lung while walking through the Spirit realm contemplating, meets oogway and shifu, bowing to them, setting up KFP5
@@lapplandkun9273 my guy you read all of that? You deserve a medal 😭😭 Also I agree I didn't do a good job with tai lung. Tbh I wanted to cut him out entirely cause I think bringing back the past in a movie about moving on in life is not the best way to go. If we HAD to redeem Tai, then it would need it's own sequel duology where the main theme is healing from trauma
I wasn't the biggest fan of the 3rd film, mainly because it didn't hit the emotional levels like the first two films did, but this 4th installment just makes it look like a masterpiece by comparison. I was onboard with this franchise being six films but after a few years since the 3rd movie's release, I was at peace with there only being a trilogy. Now, I really wish that was the case.
Something that also fucking blows my mind is how now almost anyone can become the Dragon Warrior. Tai Lung dedicated his whole life to it but wasn’t made for the role. Same with tigress and she was colloquially known to become the next Dragon Warrior but NO! Po shows up and throughout the movie we are shown how it is more than just training, dedication etc. Someone literally has to be fated as the next successor to the title but all of a sudden a wolf/dog idk is just chosen. Yea the scroll was blank and shows us that it is power within yourself, but with Shens vision, Pandas having innate talent for Chi, Oogway, we are shown how it is destiny at play.
I would say the reason Po is uniquely suited to being the dragon warrior is that he is in tune with himself. He knows his limits, what he wants, why he wants it. He is willing to dedicate himself to what he cares about without being afraid of his own desires, and without thinking he deserved it all along.
What I want to know is why there 'needs' to be a Dragon Warrior after Po. In the first movie it's stated they had waited a thousand years for a Dragon Warrior to be selected. Retcon city. Also, yeah they didn't want to pay for the original voice actors for other characters, which is fine, but they use that as the excuse that the characters either aren't in the movie or just don't talk instead of getting cheaper alternatives.
I lowkey expected Tai Lung to be the next dragon warrior via a redemption arc (him and Po against the chameleon), Po reteaching him Kung fu and a final fight between him and Po in full Puss vs Death style. I was disappointed to see that it was just a cliché animated film with cliché characters and shit villain that shat on the trilogy
@@1roxyfan491 For a stand alone movie it's mid. Just going through the motions of a plot with nothing unique or thoughtful about it. But for a continuation of a preexisting story it's definitely bad- failing to follow the internal logic set up by previous movies. None of the characters feel like themselves. Shifu's not the kind to abandon logic and blindly follow destiny. You should only retire when you're no longer in your prime. And wisdom is gained through experience so cutting off Po's journey is completely illogical. Tai Lung's hatred was built over many years and resolved within 2 minutes, without even directly interacting with Po. Chameleon's backstory is debunked within THIS movie, let alone the other ones.
@@sambreyer7344no they make it mid if the movie was truly bad it wouldn't have gotten an audience score on rotten tomatoes of 83% and a critic score of 72.
I have to disagree that Zhen is like Nimona(the Netflix one). Nimona has personality. She ain’t monotonal like Asha from Wish, Captain Marvel, and other Mary Sue. Heck, she even got development when she got betrayed by Gloreth(and seemingly by Ballister). Meanwhile, Zhen got training from Chameleon but she was made Dragon Warrior for no reason at all. The writers just put her there like a placeholder where Nimona is the cause of the story, the existence of the wall and to proceed the plot further. Without her, Ballister wouldn’t have a chance in the netflix movie.
Exactly. I agree that Kung Fu Panda was bad, but when he said Zhen was like Nimona, I was confused because the Nimona I remember is an actual well written character.
If this is supposed to be a new trilogy, you don't pass the torch on the character's first appearance. If this trilogy had to be made, make the fox thing earn it. Torch passes can work, but like you said more often than not the character who is given the torch is unworthy and unlikeable.
Po was given the title of Dragon Warrior before he 'earned' it. Same thing with the fox here. When Oogway saw Po for the first time, he somehow just knew that Po was the DW. Though Po isn't as wise as Oogway, I think the universe worked to let Po meet the fox, and then he just KNEW that she was the right one. As Shifu told him, "When you know, you know".
The thing is, Po retiring and having to choose a successor, a criminal turned hero at that, is the plotline I predicted they'd go with. But truth be told, now that we know how much meddling happened behind the scenes, it's a wonder that it's even as "MID" as it is.
There was another script that didn’t make the in the cut. The chameleon was supposed to capture master shin fu instead. For the end of the movie master shin fu or Ti lun say I forgive you master.
That idea was the co-directors idea, she was the only person trying to save the movie, but she was ignored and treated like a nobody by the rest of the crew. She knows Kung Fu Panda, but the director just would not listen to her ideas to make the movie good
i think the reason why some say it's "mid" is because you feel too bad for yourself because you were so excited about the movie and paid money for it, only to call it bad. Many cant be honest with themselves with this statement
Tbh as weird as it is Illumination have actually been doing better than Dreamworks this year. While they didn’t make Kung Fu Panda 4, they’re making the real Megamind 2 with Gru & JackJack put in for good measure.
@@MarcoAnaya-ks7bp yep, that’s the reason why I believe DM4 is the real Megamind sequel, as it actually has much better animation & also Will Ferrell playing as the villain.
This movie felt like a slap to the face for Tai Lung fans. They literally put him in the beginning of the trailer to hype up fans. Basically they used him as a marketing tool.
MY IDEA FOR KFP4 Scrap the character of Zhen entirely. instead of Shifu having Po pick a successor, have his announcement be that he wants the Furious 5 to disperse to spread his kung fu teachings across China. have THAT be the change Po doesn’t want to adapt to. Before any of that can happen though, they get word of the Chameleon so Po AND the Five set off together to take her down. Keep the humorous subplot of Po’s dad’s following to make sure their son is safe(I honestly really liked seeing them work together). make the chameleons backstory be that she was turned down because she didn’t want to put in the effort to actually learn kung fu, that’s why she’s looking for this shortcut. Double down on the Chameleon bringing back old villains, making it like a Kung Fu Panda version of No Way Home. Keep that amicable exchange between Po and Tai Lung so he gets his redemption before going back to the spirit realm. And along the way Po learns to accept change and we end the movie with a tearful goodbye as the Five all leave and Po stays to run the Jade Palace, that way you can still bring all of them back for a sequel if you want.
2022: DREAMWORKS IS PEAK 2023: Not the best year for Dreamworks but 2024 they’ll come back 2024: DREAMWORKS IS DEAD Here’s hoping The Wild Robot is good
It was so disappointing with 4, antagonist was lazily made.. And the fact that Po wasn't recognized as the Dragon warrior in the city is some major bullshit, it doesn't make sense. And they teleport all over the place. The main plot hole i was angry about was Chameleon being able to stun Po with Tai Lung's nerve strike, even though in the first movie he wasn't affected by it. And for some reason Po didn't use the fucking dragon spirit attack all the time?? Like it's so strong so it would be logical to always use it.
I never planned to watch this movie in the first place, the trailer assured me that I didn't need to waste my money. But *god* is it tragic that 'a cinematic masterpiece' has lost its meaning. I wish directors stopped gaslighting their audiences
The worst part was tigress. It’s literally the point of the first film that a child who is not accepted by the village will burn it down to feel its warmth. Tai lung was stepped over and it was dangerous…. So then they decided to do it all all of the 5 at the same time…

Such a missed opportunity that the Chameleon didn't turn into Po's friends (like Tigress, Shifu, F5) and family (Dad, Mr. Ping) to actually mess with his head and make him struggle to fight them...
i think a really cool alternative could have been the chameleon taking all po's old enemies powers at the beginning EXCEPT for tai lung in which he would have to seek out po's help and have a cool redemption arc or something and he would become the dragon warrior after learning from his mistakes. It would also tie in nicely with po's new role as the spiritual guardian and guiding tai lung in the right direction just like master oogway did with him in the first movie coming full circle. alas we got garbage instead
@@antonypastrikos7036Nah, it'd be like Legends Of Awesomeness, and the Penguins Of Madagascar series, (Imo) pretty decent watch if you got nothing else
As a general concept, that probably would have worked fine. Poe being told that he's going to START transitioning towards Oogway's role and taking multiple seasons to get there while acting as a teacher not necessarily of the next Dragon Warrior but just a student would have been fine. Though to make that obvious I would have recommended handing him a student that's only a little older than Tigress in her flashback in KFP1 so it's clear the student has a lot to learn.
Here's a better movie idea the chameleon changes into the forms of Tai Lung, Kai and Shen and they're all locked in cages while they are the Chameleon takes on their appearance within the movie disguised as the three to trick Po that it's really them up until the end where Po realizes they are all locked up in cages she steals Po's Kung Fu and counters everything he can do well that she blasts him into Tai Lungs cage and it breaks then the two break the rest of them while all 4 try thier best to overcome Chameleon as Po
@@gtdc4685 it would be pretty cool though, with good writing it can work. But Kai shouldn't be there 'cause his spirit got obliterated. Shen, I mean he did kinda accept his fate in the end and maybe he can learn that he can't outrun destiny?
I few ideas i had recently for KFP4 for make both the villain and the movie better was: -Chameleon actually using her magic for learn Kung Fu much faster and combining it with magic, striking fear in all the masters. She use her shapeshifting abilities for both learn the secrets of the Kung Fu masters but also for control the whole city and for steal all the Kung Fu from the masters (as we saw). -Zhen is actually there and send a message to the Furios Five, begging for help. They come but are outclassed by The Chameleon because she play it smart for steal their Kung Fu and imprison them (better reason of why we dont see them till the end) -We see a scene where she use all her magic for open a portal of the Spirit Realm for get Tai Lung Kung Fu. With a huge challenge, she manage to succeed but Tai Lung escape and is basically unable to use Kung Fu now -Chameleon find Zhen's betrayal and she imprison and steal her identity for take Po's staff. During the time with Po, she try to gather as many info as possible to use against him. -Po meet Tai Lung and he try to help him to redeem himself, teaching him to be humble and all that. -In the first battle with Chameleon, Po is defeated and psychologically damages by her imitating his mother and all his friends. -Tai Lung save him and they need to rescue The Furios Five but they are powerless without the Kung Fu. However, Po remember that he can use the Chi as well and decide to donate some of his Chi to Tai Lung for also 'prove to not use it for itself but for the good' -They attack right before she can open the portal and Po use his Chi for share the power with the Furios Five and defeat Chameleon. -Po decide that Tai Lung can become the Dragon Warrior but he refuse because he first want to fix his mistakes. Let me know if you guys like these ideas
I don't know why Po needs to give up the Title of Dragon warrior now tbh, I'd understand if this were a timeskip and he was an old man Oogway's age where he passed his physical, mental and spiritual peak but he's still on the rise at this point. I'd argue Po still hasn't peaked as he's still a younger adult and he isn't in his early 30's yet to my knowledge so passing on the torch would be too Early, it'd been better if he was training his own furious 5 of some sort like Shifu did as a young adult in my opinion or a timeskip of some sort. I think it'd be interesting to see Po at his physical peak with maybe some differences in apperance scars maybe some slight differences in mass from muscles implying he's been training. I think it'd be cool if they touched upon the concept of Po's enemies returning from the Spirit Realm similar to Kai and being forced to confront Po again or if he Wooshi fingers himself again. I think the way the staff was handled is stupid too, the idea that it's just the staff that holds all this power and not Po himself even though the last movie was all about Po finally being a spiritual leader and stuff. The first movie was about Po physically being a warrior, the second movie was Po mentally be a warrior, and the third was Po achieving spiritual enlightenment so I think it'd make sense for Po to still have the same essence but be more mature and serious as he is now a fully realized Kung-fu warrior. Also I think for big fights the spirit realm would be perfect with the nature of Chi being enhanced there, I think like the video says that Chi should be able to be used to a weaker extent on the mortal realm by non spirit warriors but I think i'd prefer for Po's overly powerful Chi abilities being limited to the spirit realm (Until he dies or is somehow banished there and becomes a spirit warrior himself). I think if Kung fu panda 4 should've been about Tai Lung, perhaps he kept training and mastering his chi, even potentially accepting his arrogance is what let Po win and wanting a rematch for closure. Even though Po won he still feels as though he deserved to be dragon warrior, but in his more balanced mental state he really is looking for closure with master Shifu, perhaps he even has a dynamic with Tigress. If that went well then the 5th and final installment could've had Shen who still is arguably the most evil villain in the franchise, and I think his development in the spirit realm would be interesting especially with how he may improve or modify his cannon being that he'd have to make alliances in certain territories or steal the Chi of others to accumulate power.
I haven't seen this movie yet, but I got a bad taste in my mouth the instant i learned Awkwafina was voicing one of the main characters and I'm disappointed but not surprised that it isn't good. Her voice acting in any movie is an automatic red flag because of how she's type casted into the same few comedy roles that set the tone for the rest of the movie. I'm also continuously irritated by the amount of movies that completely flop after releasing a new protagonist out of the blue, and I do not understand how the people in charge of this stuff see that and think theirs is gonna work out.
I JUST WATCHED IT AND I ABSOLUTELY HATED IT. They were so close. SO CLOSE. to not ruining another film series. Kong fu panda is ssoooo freaking good. The characters, the plot, the emotion and the beautiful lighting and everything. THE MUSIC???? Gosh... and then they come in with this. Stupid looking with dumb characters, a basic, predictable plot, and there isn't even any good music. They totally disrespect all the cool villains and the main master dudes like shifu and oogway. They did NOT care about this. They wanted money. I hate all those dumb freaking directors... ughh. Also, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR MAKING THIS. I feel so much better when I watch someone else hating on something I also hate, lmao.
Also Tigress should have been the next Dragon Warrior instead of Awkwafina.
tbf, I think people say mid because the animation was fine
the music was fine

@@active_individual Personally I don’t like the idea of Tai Lung becoming the next dragon warrior because he is dead. I don’t think they should just allow characters to come back to life by leaving the spirit world and never returning.

Tigress is the Most disrespected character in History
- Orphan
- no one wanted to adopt her
- no friends and isolated in the orphanage
- Tries hard to win Shifu's affection as her daughter
- Lost Dragon Warrior to a random guy.
- took a random guy one montage to be stronger than her
- irreverent in KungFuPanda4
- rejected as dragon warrior for 2nd time, even though she has mature

Here’s how you fix the Chameleon:
1) Give her a damn name.
2) Instead of an in-universe contradiction, make it that she never had the courage to actually do kung-fu herself and thus needed guises.
3) Make her able to take forms through observation, not random vore magic. Thus leading to:
4) Have her only have brought Tai Lung back in the beginning as her anti-Dragon Warrior weapon, with the intention of using him to be able to witness Po’s abilities in full. Ultimately leading to
5) Po being her ultimate objective because _at the end of 3, he was the most powerful kung-fu Master on the planet, leader of the Valley of Peace and, rightfully by 2, should be a hero renown throughout all of China._ Having his strength thereby, in her mind, making her the strongest.
A villain with weakness, vice, an actual plan that progresses through the film and an end goal that aligns without plot holes or retcons.

Fun Fact: the director didn't want to give The Chameleon and Zhen Backstories. And by the time the rest of the crew finally convinced him, it was basically too late.

One of my biggest fears has come true. And it's that Puss in Boots 2 wasn't a sign of a new direction for Dreamworks, it was an anomaly.
I was so hopeful DreamWorks would air more masterpieces like Puss in Boots 2.
Its not an anomaly, its perfectly expected.
Dreamworks was always the hit AND miss studio, for each shrek 2 there's a shrek 3.
The next good dreamworks movie may come out in this very same year, in the name of "Wild Robot"
Let's just hope that the "Wild Robot" can be also an anomaly

Kai was destroyed in the spirit realm at the end of the 3rd movie. He shouldn’t even be in this one cause he literally doesn’t exist lol
Something called "Fanservice" happened
Kai's Spiritual Essence was still there, not destroyed, and /or his chi was scattered around The Spirit Realm. That staff could put it back together.
THE FUCK?

Or heck, she could’ve shapeshifted into Po’s mom, that would’ve really destroyed Po. But NOPE! They didn’t do any of that.

What they ACTUALLY should have done with kfp4:
-Remove the return of Shen and Kai, Shen got crushed under a god damn ship and died to his own cannon balls he ain't coming back, Kai got completely eradicated and erased in the spirit realm he also ain't coming back
-Bring back the furious 5
-Rename and give The Chameleon an ACTUAL backstory, here's an idea: name her Princess Chamelia or smth like that, and her backstory would be something along the lines of her and her family getting humiliated by kung fu masters and she ends up training and learning magic and she becomes more power hungry and she defeate anyone in her way without mercy like the og masters humiliated her family a while ago, hell an even better idea imo is that the chameleon's and the pandas had an ancient war and The Chameleon has beef with pandas after her parents got killed in the war so she learns magic and takes her rage out on Po or smth like that
-Make Po not give his dragon warrior position
-Make Po bring back Tai Lung as a last resort once he gets defeated by the chameleon, then they both work together and defeat the chameleon (not without some beef before tai lung acceps po's offer tho)
-Tai Lung gets his redemption arc and Shifu finally becomes proud of him
-Make Tigress the new dragon warrior in a future movie
-Remove and scrap Zhen entirely
-Bring back Po's intelligence from kfp3
Hell you dont even NEED to scrap the new character, just instead of immediatly give him a big role in the first movie we are introduced to which wouldnt make sense, end the movie with Po teaching the little guy , or tell him that while he may be unworthy of the dragon warrior title he may become a well respected Kung Fu master of his own in the future with training etc...
Respectfully, I take a lot of issue with a lot of your ideas to. To tackle a couple,
-Princess Chamelia is a god awful name, especially when we’re supposed to be crafting an intimidating villain.
I’m so - I’m sorry.”
-Tigress should not have become Dragon Warrior and neither should Tai Lung.

@@KrodaStagg It already is a red flag. I like her voice, but GOD she doesn't have range.
Here’s my rewrite:
First, the Tai Lung scene at the beginning.
Yeah, maybe he even apologizes to Po for their rivalry earlier.

Why do these writers keep thinking Akwafina is the best thing to put in a movie.?
They really don’t want to pay anybody in this movie. WHY IS AQUAPHINA IN THIS MOVIEEEEEEEEEEE
@@EzdubsquestionRemeber that quack whack? Chica wack!
I really hate the idea of Tai Lung being the Dragon Warrior. A Tai Lung redemption is a good idea, but his being the Dragon Warrior would undo the first movie.
@@gtdc4685 him making his own path and journey is what I wanna see
Man, this is just sad.
Bullshit, they quite literally changed Poh's character from the conclusion and acceptance he got from the last movie, they can bend Tiggress to have this resentment she needs to let go.)
Tailung: Simply what a powerful story of redemption it'd be if Tailung got all of his kungfu stolen by the chameleon and Poh found him in the real world re-teaching everything he learned throughout the movie, while he learns forgiveness.
@@JT_goatted6G Both could take up the role with enough character development. That's what the movie would be all about.
@@JT_goatted6G plus in the Tai Lung scenario he'd meet Poh before whatever happened in the movie.

I still think Kung Fu Panda 4 would've been a pretty solid movie if they just removed the annoying Fox Girl, and replaced her with the Chameleon from the get-go
Imagine this; the Chameleon, a character whose ENTIRE GIMMICK is that they were told that they can't become a Kung-Fu warrior because of their circumstance at birth.
However, Po realizes a potential that she herself doesn't realize; he literally sees himself in her
Then in the second half of the movie, it's revealed that the Fox was the Chameleon the entire time.
Big spectacle fight goes down, as planned, until eventually Po knocks out the Kung Fu magic from her (through gimmicky movie magic means)
Then she goes at him, one last time, fighting using her OWN abilities, not using magic or stolen techniques.
Her dream was being realized
Then you could resolve Tai Lung's character arc by having him realize that his path was just too vastly different from these two to understand what it means to be Dragon Warrior.

@@arshiaaghaei I didn’t mind Shrek 3 that much, but I respect your opinion. I really enjoyed parts of PIBTLW because of how dark and mature it was able to get. Also, the wolfie was ironically so adorable, lol, same with Perro. This and the Knuckles series were incredibly mediocre and disappointing. Both could’ve been SO much better. Disney, however…MAN they’re in a bad shape currently. This is why I stopped rating things. There’s nothing wrong with using a rating to try and build familiarity with the creator but this movie and other recent things I’ve found difficult to rate. It would be between a 2 and a 5 for me though.

@@Ezdubsquestion mediocre, unremarkable, tho some people use it synonymously with bad

Heres my little rewrite:
*ACT 1:*
the start of the movie is basically the same. Shifu tells him that hes not just the dragon warrior anymore, hes the spiritual leader of the valley of peace like oogway
Po tells shifu that hes not oogway, and that he doesnt even know what being a spirtual leader means. He goes to talk to tigress about it
Tigress is now a caretaker at an orphanage. They each moved somewhere else except tigress which is still really close with po
-----------‐----------------------------
*EXPLANATION:* If you didnt notice, the start of this movie is a mirror of the 1st movie but from the perspective of po who is in oogways position now.
Back to the plot:
-----------‐-----------------------------
Po seems to agree with tigress. She convinces him to take her on to go find tai lung (chameleon)
*SIDENOTE:* The 1st movie was abour po being put in a physical test. Here he beats zhen physically but she outwits him. Like shifu said: fighting with your hands isnt the only form of combat. There are non physical ways to win a physical battle. We deconstructed the 1st movies core idea
*ACT 2:*
Similar to Kung Fu Panda 2, this act will focus on Po and Zhen traveling together. Turns out she set everything up to bring po and tai lung so they could fight and tire each other out
Here we make another change: she needs pos chi to open up the spirit world and summon all the kung fu masters so she can take their skills. The last scene of this act is Chameleon absorbing the skills of every Kung Fu master and preparing to go absorb the rest of the overworld masters
-----------‐-----------------------------
*EXPLANATION:* Kung fu panda 2 ended with finding Inner peace and the main villain dying due to not being able to let go and be at peace.
*ACT 3:*
Po and Tai Lung have an awkward silent moment. Po breaks the silence by trying to talk to Tai Lung. Tai asks po in a annoyed manner why he still acts nice and light-hearted towards him to which po explains that he has no reason not to. Before he leaves po tells tai lung that a flower will never blossom if it stays inside the seed
Po goes and sits by a pond. The final scene is the sapling of the Blossom tree that sprouted
-----------‐-----------------------------
*EXPLANATION:*
This one is very straightforward. Kung Fu Panda 3 was about the battle of spirit and self identity. We'll deconstruct this by diving into what it means to move on and what it means for each character. Po moves on by accepting the role of leader and understanding that dightingisnt always about punching. He understands the need of a leader who can guide people (from his experience with the chameleon and Zhen)
Zhen moves on by accepting that just because she grew up and liked living in a self centered manner, it doesn't make it right. It alsk doesnt have to be her. She can be more. She becomes mkre by being the dragon warrior
The Chameleon looses because she couldnt move on. Again shes basically a what if for po in this universe. That leads to her being left behind.
*LASTLY WHY I KEPT ZHEN AS THE NEW DRAGON WARRIOR:*
We deconstructed all 3 movies and flipped them on their heads. So did the characters
Also the tigress and po thing is purely friendship.
You deserve a medal 😭😭
Also I agree I didn't do a good job with tai lung.
Exactly my thoughts
the fourth film should've been Tai Lung or Tigress being the next dragon warrior. Not fucking Zhen
They just made the Dragon Warrior sound like a job position than a lifelong destiny.
@@Whatever-mh5dn exactly
well sometimes sequels and trilogies tend to ruin things...
Terminator 3 and dark fate. the goat example.
Thank you for understanding that mid=mediocre, not bad.
its not bad though

@@Crow12619 But we've seen wolves before? Shens army. They look nothing like Aquafinas thing.
@sambreyer7344 rumor has it they changed the original design to make it "cuter", but I can't confirm that.
Still would need more for the movie to be good, but its a decent start.
That idea was the co-directors idea, she was the only person trying to save the movie, but she was ignored and treated like a nobody by the rest of the crew. She knows Kung Fu Panda, but the director just would not listen to her ideas to make the movie good
@@NoobTheNewt0987 Fuck the original director then.
i think the reason why some say it's "mid" is because you feel too bad for yourself because you were so excited about the movie and paid money for it, only to call it bad. Many cant be honest with themselves with this statement
Tbh as weird as it is Illumination have actually been doing better than Dreamworks this year. While they didn’t make Kung Fu Panda 4, they’re making the real Megamind 2 with Gru & JackJack put in for good measure.
If the boss baby-minions brain rot is doing better, we are utterly fucked
@@antonypastrikos7036Boss Baby was made by Dreamworks.
@@ScreenSage_YT god this makes everything so much worse, lol
And Megamind turns out to be DM4's new villain, Maxime Le Mal (aka Doofensmirtz)
MY IDEA FOR KFP4
Scrap the character of Zhen entirely. instead of Shifu having Po pick a successor, have his announcement be that he wants the Furious 5 to disperse to spread his kung fu teachings across China. have THAT be the change Po doesn’t want to adapt to.
Are we also gonna ignore that the chameleon doesn’t die from having to much power but Kai does?
Fr I could make a better movie than this garbage😂
He didn't die cuz he was already dead. He got destroyed but yeah I get your point.
2022: DREAMWORKS IS PEAK
2023: Not the best year for Dreamworks but 2024 they’ll come back
2024: DREAMWORKS IS DEAD
Here’s hoping The Wild Robot is good
It was so disappointing with 4,
antagonist was lazily made..
Unrelated to Kung Fu Panda, but:
Why, how, and when did we start calling
The same reason we say "gyatt" when we find something "attractive" *_Brain Rot._*
because we can and we're lazy to type something longer than 3 letters
I thought "mid" was just the internet slang for adjectives like “mediocre”, “average”, or “alright”..
The worst part was tigress. It’s literally the point of the first film that a child who is not accepted by the village will burn it down to feel its warmth. Tai lung was stepped over and it was dangerous…. So then they decided to do it all all of the 5 at the same time…
Dawg I can't believe the guy who led "Singing Killed My Grandma" was the head of this clown fest 🤡
No one's probably gonna care because it's not a meme like Giorno's Theme, but I like how Stand Activated is playing in the background. 1:01

Such a missed opportunity that the Chameleon didn't turn into Po's friends (like Tigress, Shifu, F5) and family (Dad, Mr. Ping) to actually mess with his head and make him struggle to fight them...
2:27 what the hell did you say about nimona?
i think a really cool alternative could have been the chameleon taking all po's old enemies powers at the beginning EXCEPT for tai lung in which he would have to seek out po's help and have a cool redemption arc or something and he would become the dragon warrior after learning from his mistakes. It would also tie in nicely with po's new role as the spiritual guardian and guiding tai lung in the right direction just like master oogway did with him in the first movie coming full circle. alas we got garbage instead
The movie felt like it should have been a TV show
What an ass tv show that would have been
@@antonypastrikos7036Nah, it'd be like Legends Of Awesomeness, and the Penguins Of Madagascar series, (Imo) pretty decent watch if you got nothing else
Megamind 2
I think that would work as a plot twist, but redeeming Shen and Kai is dumb.
Kai was literally decimated in the last movie he doesn’t exist anymore
@@gtdc4685 it would be pretty cool though, with good writing it can work. But Kai shouldn't be there 'cause his spirit got obliterated. Shen, I mean he did kinda accept his fate in the end and maybe he can learn that he can't outrun destiny?
@@archimedesfromteamfortress2no he was very petty and just accepeted to die before bowing down to Po.

I few ideas i had recently for KFP4 for make both the villain and the movie better was:
-Chameleon actually using her magic for learn Kung Fu much faster and combining it with magic, striking fear in all the masters.
She use her shapeshifting abilities for both learn the secrets of the Kung Fu masters but also for control the whole city and for steal all the Kung Fu from the masters (as we saw).
-Zhen is actually there and send a message to the Furios Five, begging for help.
They come but are outclassed by The Chameleon because she play it smart for steal their Kung Fu and imprison them (better reason of why we dont see them till the end)
-We see a scene where she use all her magic for open a portal of the Spirit Realm for get Tai Lung Kung Fu.
With a huge challenge, she manage to succeed but Tai Lung escape and is basically unable to use Kung Fu now
-Chameleon find Zhen's betrayal and she imprison and steal her identity for take Po's staff.
However, Po remember that he can use the Chi as well and decide to donate some of his Chi to Tai Lung for also 'prove to not use it for itself but for the good'
-They attack right before she can open the portal and Po use his Chi for share the power with the Furios Five and defeat Chameleon.
-Po decide that Tai Lung can become the Dragon Warrior but he refuse because he first want to fix his mistakes.
Let me know if you guys like these ideas
Puss in Boots 2 gave me hope for Dreamworks, but I guess it wasn't a sign of good things to come... but rather an anomaly between disappointments.
I don’t know why you thought that dude. Dreamworks has always been inconsistent with their quality. For every httyd they make a boss baby
