Dude turned Night into Day.. Mind Freaking Blown and subscribed! holy heck man. i'm about to purchase my first flash set up and so happy came across your page!
Awesome review and BTS. By the way, there’s no need to use a different reflector or bulb protector. The AD400’s stock reflector still fits with the Bowen’s mount attached - you just have to twist off the back piece of the reflector and then it will fit without any problems. Rob Hall has an update video about the same issue.
Yeah the manual isn't very good about explaining this - I could tell it was two pieces but I was afraid of breaking it. You really just have to pull hard and it pops apart.
I was looking for information about the Godox AD400 and I found your channel . It’s amazing! Thank you for your video! Really amazing how you develop it!
The production value and quality that your videos bring to the table is absolutely astounding, world class stuff mate. Also the reviews are really in depth and honestly, they’ve helped me no end. I’ve just subscribed and will definitely be staying tuned for more. All the best all the way from the U.K. Aaron
TTL/flash not much use when shooting HSS. Shoot manual, which is really what you ended up doing anyway. It’s all about trial and error and building your shot. Great video.
Why does TTL not work with HSS? Because cannot compute how much of the HSS flash power will be outside of the timespan that the sensor will actually receive (flash) light?
Nice sir......ur videos are always awesome.....the video quality which you provide attracts the youtube surfers .......one day i was too attracted........and now i am on of pixelvillage's biggest fan.....
RARELY where i keep listening to an Indian English speaking person! but you sir got me to listen! your production got me to sub and I'll keep watching.
Am not a pro but despite that I watch ur videos with great interest as I find them to be just candid information followed by great views. Am thinking to buy a battery operated flash but not a very expensive one. Thanks
Well done especially the end of the video with your conclusion...I've been struggling on which Flash to get but with your end conclusions you sold me on the AD400 pro. Thank you
great review, also at 14:16 you forgot as well with flash, you are giving a consistent, and Constant white balance to the scene, in mixed lighting, normal ES bulbs, fleuro lights, tungsten, etc. they all show different colour casts, FLASH on the other hand is a plain xenon bulb, so only ONE light source, so one wb, consistent colours and mood to the shot.
Your presentation is simply superb. Very clear and to-the-point review. The AD200 probably is the best value for money! It would be great if you could you make a video on the essential gears for beginners who wants to set up a studio.
There is no need to hold the bulb with a tissue or a cloth. The tube is protected by a glass with all the Godox products. Thank you for this video. The Ad400 Pro will be my next purchase.
ATG suggests if you are an events /or weddings photographer, try the ATG Gold X10 Kim V or lesser model version, the Nissin MG10 Set. These two have the flexibility of doing videos/photos with radio 24-200mm zoom. They are able to use three battery type sources. Good luck putting this or AD200 on your camera. They both need a transmitter. ATG/Nissin come with one of the best transmitter that are easy to use. ATG is over $2,000.00 Niss is $700.00
I was always used to struggle with this flash Photography.. It's so amazing you covered every aspect in one video in such a short span. Perfect. Love TRINATH RAO MANDA PHOTOGRAPHY ❤️
Hi RK sir. Could you pls make a video on how to buy a DSLR(pros and cons) for beginners. I am an avid fan of ur channel and don't miss even a single vid published....and I don't even have the minimum knowledge of photography. 😀...A gripping channel with very well structured content...Thanks a lot Sir.
Hiii sir I was expecting your vdo tday n wow u just hear.... U explain each n every aspect of gadgets i like a lot.. do putup some editing skill content if u can.... Just a suggestion coz sir u explain on point, do consider if u notice.
Thank you for the excellent review! I have 2 questions: 1.- In the indoor shots how do you manage to balance the available light with the flash light? Do you use a CTO gel? 2.-I noticed you have a built-in camera flash open in the shots. Do you fire it as well for fill? What camera were you using? Nikon D750?
Very nice video. I am very interested in getting the AD400. My only criticism on the video is when you are making test exposures to get your flash setting correct which is depleting the battery. You should be using a flash meter. It is an invaluable tool if you are using flash. Properly used, it takes the guesswork and wasted shots trying to adjust the flash power for proper exposure.
sir please make a video on food & product photography with explanation of how different angels, focal lengths & flash/light equipments affect the photograph... it will be very helpful ❤
After the watching the final images. I feel like the best work was actually done in post production. The flash did make a noticeable difference but I feel that it was not as impactful, but I could be wrong.
sir please also make video over your shooting setup... like mic, camera, tripod, light...all the stuff you use to shoot these videos...that will be very helpful ❤
I am going to start learning flash photography. I want a not too heavily priced, lightweight, portable setup that I can take with me wherever I go to cultivate and continue this new hobby of mine. What do you suggest?
Just a note something I saw was incorrect , once the Bowen’s mount is mounted you can pull apart the original godox reflector and it becomes smaller so you can attach to the front with the Bowen’s mount and bulb in and the reflector cap fits perfectly back into the bag with the adapter
Sir don't you think that flare in the 7th image is actually disturbing the view.Anyway just a lil thought. I am a big fan of yours. I lov e your video. recently bought AD600 pro after viewing your video. I just love the light. I felt I am getting my money worth. Thank You. and big thumbs up to you and your team.
In the first photo, maybe you had to compensate the flash power because you spot metered on the dark side of the face but you pointed the flash orthogonally on the model. By doing so, you have pointed the flash at the dark side of the face but at the bright side too and this has caused the overexposure. In my opinion you had to point the flash on the model's face from the left of the camera. This way one side of the face would have received light from the sun and the other side from the flash. In fact, there is no point is adding the flash light to the sunlight already hitting one side of the model's face. Just my opinion... Good video overall
Is there anyway you can explain how you go about using both the AD400pro and the AD200 at the same time? I just purchased the AD400pro but Id love the option to add on the AD200 to help create the look you did with the add on of the AD200 but I was confused when you started explaining that - how was the AD200 able to connect to the camera to flash if you had the trigger for the AD400 on your camera to make your soft box flash? sorry if thats a dumb question but I am newer to using off camera flash outside of my studio :-D I tend to need things suuuuuper dumbed down for me :-D
The camera's metering modes, - matrix, center weighted and spot -, are used to measure ambient light. The flash metering system is independent of the camera's metering modes. Use spot metering with flash, doesn't make much sense. Always use matrix metering with flash. The use of spot metering should be used in very specific situations, such as, high contrast scenes. I only use local metering, no flash, in high contrast scenes. Matrix metering on modern digital cameras is perfect, 95% of the time.
Sir, a kind request to make a video about differences between a Speedlite Flash, Strobe, an LED Panel light(mainly video light) and Continuous LED light (strobe style) by shooting mainly a common subject to show us how much of an 'f' stop can be gained or lost by each type of light and wether or not any of the light can over power other light if combine any two light together in a setup. Kindly do the needful Sir to provide us much needed knowledge.
Hey brother. I wonder how many hour can you use the modeling light at 100%? Approximate is fine too. I’m thinking between 400pro and 300pro. Also does it have bi color ?

The best video on Ad400 sir👍👍👍
nice shot on the couch!
Sir ... your presentation is just awesome..
I have the 600 which I hand hold for real estate shoots. I think the 400pro will be just barely powerful enough, but much easier to carry.
Its really only 1 stop less

Regular light meter don't work on hss. It will cost you almost $1000 to get a hss compatible light meter
Great explainations thank you!
sir please make a video on food & product photography with explanation of how different angels, focal lengths & flash/light equipments affect the photograph... it will be very helpful ❤
Beast Ad400 pro 🥰
Somewhat stretched video, at the end just tell the price. Portability costs more. Till 18-19 minutes superb video 👌🏼
Sorry to have wasted your time 🙏
After the watching the final images. I feel like the best work was actually done in post production. The flash did make a noticeable difference but I feel that it was not as impactful, but I could be wrong.
That means they lit the photos tastefully
Hi sir you give a well education to us so please be teaching thank you sir
Good video on the AD 400 Pro , You need to knock that terrible loud music off, or change it

Awesome review as usual. May I know which boom stand you used for ad400. I thought boom stand is not sturdy enough to hold the 400.
Excellent review sir superb 👏👏
Truly impressive
D810 has one of the best sensors to date
Good tutorial thank you sir waiting pixel village malayalam version
Sir, What is the Octa box which you are using in this video? Would you recommend it for easy use or any other product?
Cool video
Great review. Curious about the bag you are using. Looks pretty spacious and useful. Sir can you let me know the model
Yes it is. Been using this for the past 4 years. It's from MindShift - Freeflight 40L. Now called Think Tank. Cheers... 🙏
Amazing video! what are you recommending for begginer studio for single person portrait? What modifiers and flash? Thank you!
Thank you for that awesome review. If I may ask please, which backpack is that you have sir?
