Lion King SNES : Walkthrough, Lvl 10, "Pride rock" HARD difficulty + Ending & Credits.

- Level 10 of the Lion King game.
Sorry for not so awesome playing and bad quality.
I play on hard, never use save states, and always start a level with 0 lives.
Plus, I never lose a life!
All the levels will be posted.
Here you face the mighty Scar...
Uh, "mighty?"
Scar is 10x easier to kill than a porcupine xD
Here, same as level 9... Hyenas ignore you, except for 2 of them, and they are easy to bypass... xD
That'd be funny if they were as aggressive as they were in level 3! xD
On this level and on the last one, they just sit and wait! =(
I felt like putting the credits in as well... C'mon, if the "Pridelands" song is like THE Lion King's song, the credits theme is as reputed.

I never got to see this level as a kid, and more than 20 years later, Im blown away by the music, thunder and fire. So epic!
"Everything the light touches, is our Kingdom." As a kid, i loved that ending.
That ending was powerful. Then the screen goes black, then it reads "the lion king" the thunder ⚡ comes in and the song comes on. "Can you feel the love tonight"

To throw Scar off the ledge, you have to jump on him before several times until he starts to pant constantly. Then you throw him with the X button. Only then you'll get to throw him far enough to make him fall

Even on easy this game is so difficult that it is very satisfying to see the end of it.
To be honest I was amazed how many times I sat here thinking "Oh wow, it sort of looks like real lion movements"
when i was playing this as a kid, I couldn't even beat the first level. :D So at least now I know how the whole game goes. :D

I made the mistake of trying to throw him one time before fully weakening him and then he lunged at me with that sinister look and I was dead. lol.
@Hateandhatred he's weak, but when i hit the swiping button, i just continue swiping at him. surely there's another thing u do to flip him...
@loopyallie1 theres no combo to do.
once he's super weak, press Y (or X, dunno... the same one than you use to perform a standing swipe attack)
You can also perform it on hyenas and jaguars.

This is the most awesome movie and the most awesome snes game!!!!
@Hateandhatred Adult Simba just basically "rolls over & dies" but he looks like Mufasa did when he died...from the back end view since you don't see Adult Simba die with a "front end view" like Mufasa had in the movie for a few brief seconds. You might not have known because you've been playing it only on Hard Mode. I've beat the game on all 3 Difficulties & yes,the Hard Mode is definately "Hard" sorta speak.(Especially if you don't know what you're doing in the first place,but you DO! lol.)
i remember that i was about 4 or 6 years then xD i never finished the game! i never knew how to push him :( but now.. i feel reaally realized xD
they need to remake this game

This level, and the one before.... Theres no big deal with it.
But after Simba's Destiny... There's Be prepared... Really hard one.
It's the same button you use when you do double standing slash. just wait until scar's tired.

Yeah, getting him to jump on you is highly frustrating! xD If you don't weaken him before throwing it, he'll do that, and you'll have to go crazy on your controller/keyboard if you don't wanna die.

Nice one mate. Can I ask you how you recorded this? I am aware that emulators can record a video, but it is not recorded in a normal video file. Did you find a way to convert it or something? Let me know please.
But jumping sections are the worst I've ever seen in this game where you supposed to do jump for some reason Simba I can't decide whether or not the other platform should be jump to so I pushed the jump button again and he always falls

What I find pretty weird is that when you die as Adult Simba,it looks A LOT like what Mufasa looked like when he died in the movie save for you only see the back end of Adult Simba...I guess its a "like father,like son" circumstance,eh?(It would be priceless had Adult Simba died in the game,but only for Pumbaa & Timon to find him...if only Adult Simba farted in that posture after dying to "get even" with Pumbaa after all those years of adopting Simba would be CLASSIC! Wishful thinking...LOL!

You can also weaken him by slashing him, but it's long and tedious.
Also, you CAN kill him without weakening him, but it's really hard. You have to be on the ledge and hope you get to actually throw him instead of having him jump over you instead. If you're playing at hard, if Scar jumps on you, the game is over. You won't survive that.

Wasn't "be prepared" the volcano one? how were you stuck?
I didn't know how to flip "Scar" on SNES. I looked everywhere and nothing helped me. Fortunately, I figured out, that's how you do it: Hit him (Y) until you see Scar starting to pant then press (X) and Simba'll flip him. Do this 4 times, after doing this you just need to throw him off the edge. That's it.
Yeah i tap as much as possible, it does 4 hits (the same as this vid) but they still survive it and i have to hit them afterwards. This is on SNES? or emulator

well the thing is all those screen recording programs result in huge filesizes, and I dont know a way around that.
what I wanna record takes about 25 minutes so the filesize would be unbelievably big with camstudio or something.
flash is easily convertable to avi or wmv, unlike the zsnes recording file. but I cant find emulators that can record to flash.
how big are filesizes with fraps?

Oh. Yeah you need to TOSS Scar. If he jumps on you, you will probably die. Do the stand up sweeping attack when he's tired and you'll toss him away. DON'T do it recklessly.

Yup, it's BARRY. Though the invincibilty cheat was off here. I only used it to skip to the wanted levels, for the recording, and in order to start with 0 lives.

you know, its on hard. After jumping on them, you need to beat the shit out of them so it goes "tak tak tak tak tak"
Plus, look at how fast my life decrease in most levels. It really is hard difficulty.

Yeah, I also had this prob at the beginning... but it's a video file after all.. any 25 min long video is going to be huge. I have 40 mins long screencams of my gf and they're like, 300mb large.
I know frap files are a bit less large, they have a better video procession system (since it's not a freeware) but I'm not a big Fraps user, but they're the leaders in game screen recording.
I have no idea which emulator can do that... I'm sorry.

Just beat this on the emulator thingy, it's alot harder, especially simba's rock, where all hyenias attack instantly, and one jump on the back of em doesnt kill them in 1 hit :| tbh i dont think this is hard difficulty, atleast not super hard, scar took me about double hits each time you face him, vids helped though so thanks and gj

The controls are all differents for everyone. In fact, I used a USB controller.
You can set your controls with your emulator, so they can be what you want them to be.

Actually I'll say the most well known would be Snes9x, but whatever. I'm not sure if it can record though.
Anyhow, I seriously recommend using a recording tool. Emulators video and audio processing seriously blows. If you can find a great torrent of Fraps, you're gonna have some huge quality here. If you're looking for a freeware, use camstudio.
SOME (that I can't name) emulators can record as I said, but you don't want that, and plus you get it in flash format, so screw that.
Some emulators can record in .swf, that you can convert in some more casual formats such as .avi or .wmv...
But I used a separate software here, called camstudio. There's also hypercam, fraps, and a lot of other ones actually.

Yes there is, its the same code to gain immortality.
Go to option and press B A R R Y.
You'll get to some menu... Where you have to chose if you want immortality to be turned on or off and on which level you to play.
I used it to shoot the video. That's why Timon says "it starts" at the beggining of all of my videos. Yes I could have save stated but I didn't want people to comment about the save state notification -_-
Plus, you can go to any bonus level that way.
Hey how do you do that standing sweeping attack? I fail at this level and I'm on easy haha. I play this game on this website called vizzed.com the Sega version and the A button is to roar. S button is to slap and D button is to jump.

You have to use a software, like Camstudio, camrecorder or Hypercam.
in fact give me all the controls like how to jump and fight and that stuff
