I love how the audience are completely silent throughout and then burst into rapturous applause when she's finished. How many artists could hold an audience with just their voice and an acoustic guitar the way Laura Marling does? Divine.
In the land I now know to be mine Where the heart's so dark, it's near blind When I think about the life I left behind I still raise no praise to the sky With my eyes on the prize of your bed When all that's needed saying has been said When I think about the life that I have led I laid down to the sound of the the wise Once, once is enough to break you Once, once is enough to make you think twice About laying your love out on the line With all I now know to be true And all I've figured out about you All the crazy things a mind can do I laid down to the sound of the truth Once, once is enough to break you Once, once is enough to make you think twice About laying your little love out on the line Oh, I was a child once Oh, I was happy young When all I didn't know needed doing Had been done Written by: Laura Marling
This gig had the most fantastic, perfect sound that I have ever heard at a gig. Spine tingling from start to finish. Could hear people blinking their eyes. Pure loveliness.
I watched the play "Equus" a few days ago and I heard this song there. The beauty of it captivated me, just as amazing as the whole play. I am so happy I found it.
The most essential female artist working today.... The standard of her output is staggering for a lass of 24... With each album the level of maturity jumps to a different level and now she's up there in the stratosphere... No female artist since Joni Mitchell has excited me as much with their talent as Laura does.. Kate Bush is the only other option in the major talent stakes but sadly Kate rarely records..
lol , ive loved joni and kate since forever , then one day i heard laura. i think shes the best working musician at the moment. if there is a bloke (or bird) out there making music as beautiful as her , i need to hear it !!!!
She's adorable!!! I especially love how she has a British accent when speaking, but once she starts singing it turns into a little bit of a country accent :)
I love this song. Songwriting. Musical style. Lovely singing. Perfomance. I had to check it out here b/c of buying it from iTunes because of their algoryhthm's recommendation. It is powerful to be able to play and sing such a slow song. Not everybody can do it. Awesome.

The best female songwriter. Or maybe just the best.
Spellbinding, breathtaking. Time stops when Laura Marling sings.
How? How? How?
Been 7 years and still a banger 🖤
Laura at her best with just a guitar and that captivating voice
This is awesome

Amazing! I wish there was the whole concert filmed like this for us to watch.
Just the most spellbinding talent for decades. Effortless performances and emotive lyrics that flow like a river.
I really love this woman
Wow. Just look at the visual here. Voice and beauty perfectly captured.

Fantastic performer and song writer. Saw in London last year. Love this acoustic stuff and her last album too.
