We've entered a pattern of snow falling every couple days with daily low temps. Today 6" of snow maybe perfect condition for using edge tamers on my long driveway. Will I gouge into the drive and waste gravel? Is this really a job for the plow instead?

Hope everything is OK!
It's good to see Johnny hard at work. I have edge tamers (original ones), and they work ok on my asphalt driveway. I ended up getting a 3-way plow for my Johnny and I love it.
Those are the original edge tamers that were bought right after they had come out with them. I used them a few times and just wasn't going to get my money's worth out of them. Tom stated in a video he was considering buying a set, so I reached out to him and ended up selling him my set.
We got a 10 inch snow in southern Indiana. I have the edge tamers, but opted to use my back blade with the pvc pipe hack. Back blade did great as we all have gravel drives.
Great Idea have to look into that PVC added edge...
Hey Tom, yes, I still watch your videos. Glad you are getting use from them still. I think I only used them 3-4 times and wasn't getting my money's worth from them. Not getting as much snow in my area as we use to. Last few winters only cleared my driveway off a handful of times with the tractor. So if I still had them, I would have used them about a dozen times in 5 years. I was wondering the other day if you still had them and put them to use. I noticed the stickers are still on them, so they don't get a hard workout even with you but glad to see someone getting use from them.
Hey Tom I also use the Edge Tamers, but with the size of my bucket I use 3, and put the washers under the contact point of the bolt... I' m looking into the purchase of a Land Pride RB1672 Rear Blade with skid shoes and Power Angle kit for my Boomer 45. Having a gravel driveway has its challenges in the winter. I hope I can adjust the skid shoes enough to skim over the gravel yet clean up the snow... I enjoyed the video & yep I love my heated cab... God Bless and Stay Safe... Chief..{NYS/ADK}
I like my edge tamers a lot,I've even picked up leaves in my yard with my 2038R and my 455 with the 40 loader. A great invention lol I use a piece of 3/8 flat stock 4X4 under the tightening bolt of the edge tamers to keep from denting my bucket in case I get carried away tightening them lol
Good job Tom. As I have asphalt driveway, I never got edge tamers, but they would be handy with gravel drive. I use the 60" plow-leave it 1-1.5 on above drive until a base is set early or late in season; otherwise float with rubber edge on plow is simple, & works well for me. We don't seem to get the 10" or more snowfalls in the past 7-8 yrs (which may have happened 1-2 X per yr back then). But I do have an Ariens SHO 28 walk behind if necessary. Will need the plow later today or tomorrow for expected 4-5 inches. Cheers
Have watched most of your videos on the tractor, the ones about installing the Curtis Cab were very helpful! I too have a long gravel driveway I got a set of edge tamers that have two bolts each and picked up some flange nuts to mount on the tip of the bolt to give another tweak down on the bucket. A friend fabricated a plow for me using the hook and pin plate from Titan and a 60'' side/side plow, I also splurged for the Summit Diverter kit ( I highly recommend ) did have to make a modified mounting plate for the diverter as it would not work on the mast, no room with the cab. Enjoy your videos keep them coming!!
I use the rubber edge blade on my X738 to do my 3 hard surface driveways. I occasionally use three edge tamers on the bucket of the 2025R on crushed stone. I have a lot of crown. I traded my hydraulic angling loader mounted blade back to the dealer for a grapple and hardware to use the 54 blade or snowblower from my X738 0n my 2025R.
Looking at your brush hog pto just sitting on the ground. I beleive the frontier brush mowers have a cut out to place the pto in to keep it out of the mud. My land pride rotary cutter doesn't have one.
Never noticed, I'll look closer. I know I have one for my post hole digger.
You are a bit concerned about your gravel drive and using a pliw. Most plows have adjustable "feet" which will prevent digging up your gravel drive.
Have you listened.anx watched Billy Bob from Iowa.....your twin!
