The detachable blade 1 and the guard 1 are two totally different things. The correct comparison would be the 1a detachable blade with the 1 guard.

MC when you "create the square shape foundation with 1 1/2" should/can I use the # 1 1/2 white Wahl comb, or purple #2? I don't have a detachable clipper. Thanks!

MC Barber, I am just starting and would like to know which brand/clipper you would recommend? Oster is very difficult to get here in europe, Andis a bit easier but mostly wahl.
I have the wahl taper but I find it very heavy on the wrist.
    Thanks!

What do you recommend more? Ceramic or stainless steel detachable blades?

Emiliano Morado. ceramic blades are better than stainless steal the ceramic cuts better and stays cooler doesn't get hot.

    1 BLADE = NO GUARD OPEN IT'S A 1/2 SO IT'S LIKE A 1/2 GUARD CLOSED
    1A BLADE = 1 GUARD CLOSED
    1 1/2 BLADE = 1 GUARD HALFWAY OPEN IT'S A 1 1/4
    1 3/4 BLADE = 1 1/2 GUARD CLOSED OR 1 GUARD OPEN
    2 BLADE = 2 GUARD CLOSED
    3 1/2 BLADE = 3 GUARD CLOSED

I feel like I need a #9 or #10 guard. 8 guard is just too short for the look I'm going for.

"Other clippers." Sorry. Auto correct is killing me. I started off with Andis Masters. Now I love fast feeds. So much lighter. They're zero-gapped with andis ceramic blades.

Marcus Carter as long as tl work for you they are good I switch from Masters because of the weight I used to use Masters

Yeah masters are way too heavy. Thanks for commenting. I just found your channel and I think you're awesome.
I'm learning a lot. You have different efficient techniques.
How are you using that straight razor to cut the hair? I'm confused on how you're doing that. Or the type of blade it is. Do you have a class?
