I’d add Gris Charnel (BDK) for its black tea top note which stays on me quite long giving the composition a drier not too milky effect. Actually to me this perfume is very much like a milky fig tea.
Thé Noir 29 is my favourite perfume ever so far, it is my signature. It’s so elegant and rich, succulent and bitter. Definitely my favourite from Le Labo as well as Bergamote 22. In my opinion the only two worth it from the house. Both incredible.
I love tea notes in fragrances! Winter Palace sounds beautiful & calming, I've heard many great things about it. My favourite tea to drink is sweet rose holy basil (tulsi) it's wonderfully calming & has the smell of rose. Thank you for this video, it's a rainy cold day here, perfect for a cup of tea indoors!
I really enjoy Maison Crivelli Hibiscus Mahajad. To me it smells like drinking a fruity tea while your soft leather handbag is resting on the table next to the cup of tea.
I’m a little obsessed with tea in perfume. Thank you for this list! I have Roasted Green Tea and adore it for its realism. It’s the fragrance I wear when I eat sushi 😄 Matcha Meditation is also a favorite and I’m currently saving for One Umbrella for Two. I was hoping I wouldn’t fall in love when I received the Floraiku discovery set because of the price. Alas, OUFT is a favorite and now I need it 🙄
Nishane Wūlóng Chá is with Litsea, not lychee.🙂 ‘Litsea is an evergreen tree or shrub commonly found throughout Japan, Taiwan, Southern China, and Southeastern Asia.’🌿
I've smelled and sampled most of the main list of fragrances. I really love tea fragrances. Floraiku's One Umbrella For Two is one of my top favorites. It's delicious smelling and scrumptious. My number #1 favorite tea fragrance is probably Jo Malone London's Earl Grey & Cucumber. It's perfect for warmer spring days and summertime.
Bois Datchai a winner. Wulong Cha not bad either. And of course, mia bella T42. Great for layering with that slight ashiness. They should do an extreme flanker of that one. Touch of oud, maybe some cypriol...
These sound amazing. Years ago I was a Fragrance Enthusiast & there were few references to Notes. I haven't been able to indulge in Olafactory Passions for years & I'm amazed by the length & depths of Notes of Niche Fragrances.
Yes, my favorite notes❤️I have 4 from your list and one from the bonus list. Something about tea frag that’s cozy and unique. Thanks for the updated video Sebastian🍵
I just bought wulong cha a week or two ago and I'm absolutely loving it. It's my first niche parfum and I love tea (and coffee!, I still need a coffee fragrance). On my skin it's definetly not as tea heavy as I expected and hoped for (I get much more fig and lychee), but its still great nonetheless and I can't wait for it to be warm outside so I can wear it in the summer heat Edit: I wonder if you ever talked about how much fragrance you spray and where. I'm always afraid of overspraying and bothering people at work or university, so I tend to spray only 2 times with a really strong fragrance, but I never know where! The neck seems obvious but I fear that my gf will taste it when she's kissing my neck haha
@@LetsArion Intense Café is a great, soft, well blended rose scent (and I normally dont like roses), but I dont get much Coffee her. Its mysterious. Desingnerwise I like Black Opium intense/YSL for Coffee vibes.
Kilian Bamboo Harmony is my favourite. I have Nishane Wulang Chawhich has fig like Bamboo Harmony, but is far too simple and artificial smelling. Bamboo Harmony is so great and unique for extremely hot weather. My wife loves it on me when we are in Brazil. It lasts for 8+ hours without being artificial like the Nishane. But that is the weakness of the Nishane brand - too mush aroma chemicals and not enough naturals make them long-lived but chunky and cloying as a rule, with very little evolution on the skin. Ani and Hacivat are no different in this regard.
Great list! There is a nice cheapie from Davidoff which is called Adventure, i don't know if you have tried it but i used to enjoy it a lot i believe i purchased my first bottle in 2008 or 2009 when it was first released..it's a cheap one you can probably get for around 20$ but it smells really nice and has that nice tea leaf note that i enjoy alot...Thanks for the great list again Sebastian!
Fully agree, the Davidoff Adventure is a fantastic woody masculine tea leaf based frag…One of the very few I finished a full bottle of (still have the after shave)…in fact I found it a tad boozy and woody…truly amazing & full bottle worthy.
Such a great selection! My current collection has 3 tea fragrances - Bvlgari 'Thé Blanc', Kenzo - L' Elephant (masala chai tea to my nose with a milk note); Montale - Blue Matcha
I do get the same feeling when smelling One umbrella for two, of blueberry muffin which is delicious. They also have other tea fragrances which are not bad, like Golden eyes and I am coming home ( this one has something similar to Wulong cha, but maybe a bit more rounded and soft ). I own already Tea for two and Wulong cha, bought based on your reviews and I really like them and I have Remember me on my wishlist. Thank you for the video!
I do love tea in fragrances. My wife wore Lancome or maybe it was Arden Green Tea when we were on our honeymoon in Italy over 25 years ago and I have very fond memories.
@@ThePerfumeGuy I think you are right. Too bad my tastes have gotten so expensive. I did not now any difference back then. It smelled divine to me. Clean and organic and pure.
I want a bottle of Tea for two but there are other priorities in my list. My favorite Tea fragrance is BVLGARI Por Homme the performance is ridiculous on my skin, but I love the smell very calm, soothing, elegant fragrance. Thanks for the list Sebastian!!!
I’m so glad to see Memo Winter Palace on your list! Armani Privée The Yulong is beautiful and worth a mention. I also think Le Labo The Noir is so cozy and warm. To me, it smells like black tea & honey.
Hey there, out of memo winter palace, armani prive the yulong, and the le labo the noir (and this list) what do you think is the best coziest tea fragrance? Thanks.
I remember enjoying Fig-Tea by Perfums de Nicolai when I sampled it. I love Wulong Cha for the beginning of Spring and often layer it. Thanks for the suggestions. There are many to try.
Tea fragrances are what started my unhealthy obsession with fragrances..lol I bought Givenchy ange ou demon le secret a couple of years back for summer and haven't looked back. You have some great ones on this list! Just bought Jovoy Remember Me after your video. A REALLY good cheapie is JLo Still...yes it's a celebrity fragrance 🙄 but damn good. Thank you for this video!!
Sebastian thanks for spilling the tea! I landed on Nishane Wulong Cha after my favorite tea fragrance Bvlgari's au the Rouge was discontinued. I am so intrigued by the Floraiku tea scents, hint, hint.
First cologne I’ve ever bought was Gucci pour home II . Was never really that big into cologne until I smelled it. I still can’t believe it was discontinued I know it’s been many years.
HI SEBASTIAN!!! I love your videos!! I would love to see a video on a beast mode fragrance from each category of notes. I would be EXTREMELY interested to see your selections and will be taking notes!!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Also, I love the tea note and jo Malone earl grey & cucumber was the first fragrance that made me fall in love with tea
What a great selection in this video. The Noir and Wulong Cha are best of the best. A few others recently tested: Costume National - Scent (smokey amber and tea, very unisex) as well as Estée Lauder - Tender Light (leaning feminine). The Noir remains the favorite. Also Armani Prive - The Yulong is refreshing and very elegant summer scent, downside rather poor longevity.
Bvlgari's The Vert was on my to-buy list for spring, but now I'm going to have to test The Blanc first. In fact, this video has me wanting to try all the tea scents first! Thanks? Lol
Its funny - I guess tea is a 'fresh' category of fragrances that I can tolerate...That I in fact enjoy. I am not big on citrus or aromatic fragrances - I prefer dark, spicy, resinous, ambery, deep and gourmand smells. But, there are some tea scents that are amazing - I own Le Labo the Noir, Winter Palace and O'Unknown...(all the dark teas lol) BUT, I am determined to find a green tea that I enjoy! Matcha Meditation is on my radar! It just sounds really good...I mean - it has white chocolate as a note! Lol! Thank you for another cool video - xoxo
Hi Sebastian , thanks for another great video .. I agree I really love VILHELM PARFUMERIE and can't wait to get my nose on Dear Polly , I wonder how the longevity is ? As I love Smoke Show and Chicago High but sadly they are not very long lasting at least on my skin ! La Labo & Nishane sound great as well . Cheers Brutha 😎
Great list Sebastian. You covered most of the greats. I'd add African Rooibos by Chris Collins, Hibiscus Mihajad, Unknown Pleasures, and Under The Lemon Trees :-)
Floraiku has another fragrance that has a prominent tea note! It's called I Am Coming Home, kind of in the vein of Winter Palace but without the resinous touches!
Hi Sebastian! The most powerful tea note i recall is phyltre ceylan from atelier cologne, sadly discontinued. Had winter palace and matcha Meditation and i agree with the comfy soothing experience. But phyltre ceylan is power tea! Greetings
Thé Yulong by Armani privé is another great one I really enjoy 🥰 Love Umbrella for two ❤ I had to sell my bottle of Tea for two, this one smelled like an old ashtray on my skin 😭
I was craving some new tea scent suggestions so thanks for this! Winter Palace and The Blanc are my current favorites although I wish the latter had more longevity on my skin. Floraiku's I Am Coming Home is another white tea you might want to try.
Just discovered Tea Service by Chasing Scents which was launched in 2021. If you love Jasmine Tea, it's divine! Need to check out your House of Oud Time suggestion too as I just adore Chamomile tea!
great video as always! i love tea and i really love the scent of Jo Malone's Earl Grey & Cucumber bc its exactly like a plain old steaming cup of earl grey, no milk, no sugar, exactly the way i take it. unfortunately its Jo Malone and the performance isn't great. I'm really looking forward to trying some on this list! the Le Labo one and Dear Polly sounds really interesting
Ha! I was wearing my favorite tea fragrance- Bvlgari Au Thé Rouge- today! So sad they panned rouge from that line. Great video. Totally unfamiliar with matcha meditation, but I'm off to find a sample/decant/traveler! Thanks!!
Love tea fragrances, especially when I can’t decide what to put on. I really miss the L’Occitane tea scents. I still have the The Vert & Bigarade. What do you think of Miller Harris’ Tea Tonique?
I live your videos!! I wish I can meet you one day and just talk about fragrances for like an hour while you blow my mind with your collection!! I’m the only person I know that loves fragrances haha
Hello Sebastian, I love the Bulgari Blanc, so clean and comforting, another one tea fragrance I love (this is with black tea) is Hyperessence matale! (Guillaume) It's so refreshing with a slight hint of leather, just lovely

Have you ever tried Bvlgari Au Thé Rouge? Sadly discontinued but still available on ebay but at shameful prices. Very unique scent, not like anything else I've ever smelled.
Thank you for this video on the tea note. I absolutely love Teazzurra and just bought a bottle. Sadly Guerlain has retired it so I bought it on eBay. I also love Gris Charnel. It is my number one favorite tea scent.
Yves Rocher also has a green tea, for many years now, and it was made by Francis Kurkdjian (never sure how to spell his name, sorry) early on in his career.
I'm looking for a fragrance for my daughter, she loves drinking tea, her favorite is earl grey tea, she does not like coffee at all, the only fragrance she has liked a I gifted her my bottle is Bulletproof by Tokyo Milk 🤔
I’m on the hunt for a skin scent of something herbal and spa like. I got House of Oud The and it just was blah 😢 Got Jo Malone Earl Grey and Cucumber and was also meh and mostly smelled cucumber. Any suggestions?
Have you tried Atkinson's Amber Empire? It's a tea and amber fragrance with what smells to me like lots of myrrh and vanilla. Very aromatic. I like it a lot!
Teo Cabanel Je Ne Sais Quoi is worth checking out. It’s inspired by genmai cha tea which is one of my fav smells ever. The perfume has the most photorealistic rice note I’ve ever smelled in addition to mate and matcha. It’s nice. I also like the mate note in Louis Vuitton Cactus Garden.
@@ThePerfumeGuy Yes, Je Ne Sais Quoi has mate and matcha which are both tea notes and Cactus Garden has a mate note. Since it sounds like you like to drink tea too, you should get your hands on some genmai cha (the inspiration for Je Ne Sais Quoi) because it’s one of the best smells ever (outside of the perfume world, of course) and it tastes lovely too. It’s green tea with puffed, toasted rice. 😋 Yummm.

It's more for spring and summer, but Kierin NYC Sunday Brunch is amazing! The lemon note is so uplifting and bright
I second this! Sadly its pretty hard to get a bottle in Europe.
1. Wu Long Cha - Nishane
2. Philtre Ceylan - Atelier Cologne
3. The Noir 29 - Le Labo

@@Summertime6292 thank you for your suggestion, I will look into it.
Masque Milano - "Russian Tea" is great!
Yes I do not own it though! :(
did u see that tea for two is discontinued again? the store on rue saint honore said they have two bottles left
My favourite tea perfume is The Merchant of Venice Blue Tea 😃
Definitely interested in the Umbrella for Two one
It's quite deelish.
I know this is a year later but Ethereal Wave by Liis is simply gorgeous tea scent!
Very interesting list. My personal favorite tea fragrance is Duel by Goutal. You have to try it.
Great suggestion! I need another bottle! :)
It’s still surprising to me no one ever mentions Armani eau de cedre. Not marketed as tea fragrance but it is. Such a shame it got discontinued.
Especially if it's discontinued! :(
I’m on the hunt for a skin scent of something herbal and spa like.
Yes I have
Gris Charnel - Bdk, Thé Cashemire -Dior & Cactus garden from LV could be added 😉
Btw what are your origins?
Yay finally tea scents! Thank you sebastian
Oh I will I have it but didn't realize it was tea?
@@ThePerfumeGuy Yes, Je Ne Sais Quoi has mate and matcha which are both tea notes and Cactus Garden has a mate note. Since it sounds like you like to drink tea too, you should get your hands on some genmai cha (the inspiration for Je Ne Sais Quoi) because it’s one of the best smells ever (outside of the perfume world, of course) and it tastes lovely too. It’s green tea with puffed, toasted rice. 😋 Yummm.
You did it again . You created a new category. Lactonic. Now tea 🍵 😌 👌
You know it
