  • The Glide waistbelt is designed to sit comfortably at your waist, but inflates instantly at the pull of a toggle, to give 100 N of buoyancy.

For fisherman this looks to be helpful, for those times when losing control and being swept away in deep water.

I bought the eyson 24-M for ease of movement on a paddle board. The vest seems to be very similar if not the same as this one. I'm a good swimmer, but I'm old and when I had my first fall into the water, the vest popped up and the the whole kit slid up from my waste to my face and confused the heck out of me. From the demo, I better know it works. I didn't wan't to inflate the vest, I didn't have a replacement cartridge. I can see from my experience, to be cautious when not inflating the vest when you go in the water. I will give mine a full test soon.

People just dont seem to get it. It is a good demonstraton of this PDF in action. I just tend to be in rougher water, rafting/kayaking, so is not practical but for lakes and emergancies it is good.
And for all those that bitch about this jump in a pool and make a life jacket out of your pants. This is way easier.

Hi, ..to wear it you cannot "have lost consciousness": get on your board secured to the ankle and you are safe. A "useless" and "bulky" PFD !!

Only good if you don't get knocked out.

  • @paulward248

all right if you dont knock yourself out falling in wear a normal pfd at least it doesnt have a co2 canister in it

Meh. If the complaint against regular PFDs is they inhibit climbing back on the board, this is way bulkier when inflated.

This device is made for people who are semi good swimmers, who are in a situation where they're having trouble resurfacing while in really deep water (it's a plan B safety device for when they fail to swim to the surface). Regular life jackets that don't need deployed, are made for those who can't swim at all.

@@MiaRosenbloom I think this device is designed to give people who don't like wearing traditions PFDs another option. When you need it, you need it. Doesn't matter how good of a swimmer you are.

Phil - you're forgetting about hidden currents which take many a decent swimmer by surprise and can be fatal, this device is a good emergency device.

      > Regular life jackets that don't need deployed, are made for those who can't swim at all.
      This is just categorically false.
I am easily a "semi good swimmer" yet always wear a life jacket when on the water. the point is to provide boyancy when you're incapacitated or in rough enough weather to not be able to swim yourself. Also while submerged it is very easy to become confused as to which direction the surface is.

Моё мнение... Более удобный вариант, когда такой жилет надевается сразу на шею, как это сделано у тех кто плавает на яхтах.

If you are getting pounded against rocks, do you want to wear a balloon around your neck?
