Thank you so much for this, for making it so simple and clear. I'm using an older version of PowerPoint so in the 'File' tab, instead of export had to use 'share and send' and my video quality only went up to 960x720. Just in case anyone was wondering why they didn't have 'export' as well

Nearly 20 years ago, after given a presentation assignment in a paramilitary agency -- where no one knew how to produce a PPT presentation -- I self-taught and put together a few Powerpoint presentations (starting with '97, then up to 2003). My "masterpiece" was a 146 slide show using all the bells & whistles.. inserting painstakingly timed narration soundbite files.. video files.. music. One click and it auto-transitioned to the end. The catch was that all files had to be in the same folder. This presentation was used for "In-Service Training." However, if another trainer used his own laptop during a session, it didn't always run smoothly. The laptops I used got old and were stored away along with the presentation. Only recently I learned that the presentation can be converted to video!! I resurrected the presentation and attempted to convert. The converter refused to use the sound/video files (wav & mp4) leaving the video silent & missing key videos. IS THERE A WAY??

When I open the Powerpoint--> Slideshow --> Record Slide Show --> Record from current slide/record from beginning, the Powerpoint starts getting recorded directly and I do not get the option to either start/stop the record or webcam related options. Somehow the video from webcam is not visible in the Powerpoint. please help me. Thanks in advance!

Always great content, Kevin! Is there a solution for the fact that PPT doesn’t record audio or video during slide transitions? You have to let the slide change or animate before you speak; otherwise, the audio sounds choppy. Thank You!
When I attempt to record my voice (with or without the camera) my voice cuts out as I change to the next slide. I noticed that your voice was recorded fluid when you flip to the next slide. How can I PowerPoint to do that?
One thing you could do is record your audio separately (into your phone, or using a mic and a data recorder like a Zoom H1n) and then import this file into your slideshow and set it to play in background - Kevin has a video on this: ruclips.net/video/C7NnbSNDgco/видео.html

Hi, thank you for your video. When I click on "record slide show", (from beginning or current slide), I just have a small box on top right where the sound is recording but there isn't anything else, no video box, no red button, etc.. My camera is working. Sorry, I don't know what I am doing wrong.
Have you checked at the bottom right corner just beside the color pallettes, there are icons for microphone and video. If the video icon is slashed then click on it so it can work. I dont know if it helps
When I try this it doesn’t give me a voice or camera option. It only lets me record the slides. What can I do? Cause I really need my fave in there as well and of course audio
Seems like some cool features.... if those were available on my ppt.... my screen shows none of those. Before you say I need to update.... I am using company microsoft account that remains current. So could it be because I was trying on Mac?
Guys , i found something, i tried a lot but can't get a solution, then i unintentionally changes the speakeroutput as headset by plugging in my headset and then opened recording and yes it is good to go. It's recording video also

I tried it but mine doesn't give me the options like 'clear' and 'settings' on the top right. It also is not showing the options for microphone and camera! Mine is a 2019 Mac so I should have the new version of PowerPoint. Please help...need to record soon before we start teaching remotely from 3/31. Thanks :)
I have watched some other familiar teaching videos where those vloggers' faces also didn't appear on screen. so i'm afraid there may not be camera option in ppt recording. i guess the vlogger's face may be recoreded by a seperate camera and he did a post editing in Pr or iMOVIE to combine the two video together.
Agreed. I don't know with 365 running on PC, but with Mac, I don't think we can make a video narration, only an audio narration. Been browsing for answers but couldn't find one that specifically address this issue.

Hi Kevin, very instructive video!!! I follow the whole procedure, however, after the recording, there is no video on the main slide view where I can preview the recording. I also tried to export the video and the produced file is not what I have recorded. I recorded only 3 out of the 25 slides and the produced video contained all the slides with fixed narrations. Any idea if I am doing smthin wrong?

This was super clear and helpful… my computer is all in Spanish but I think with this it’s clear enough to work it out!!!
When I transition slides, my audio drops briefly before it turns back on. How do I prevent audio from cutting between slides???

Hi, thank you for your video. When I click on "record slide show", (from beginning or current slide), I just have a small box on top right where the sound is recording but there isn't anything else, no video box, no red button, etc.. My camera is working. Sorry, I don't know what I am doing wrong.

Have you checked at the bottom right corner just beside the color pallettes, there are icons for microphone and video. If the video icon is slashed then click on it so it can work. I dont know if it helps

When I try this it doesn’t give me a voice or camera option. It only lets me record the slides. What can I do? Cause I really need my fave in there as well and of course audio

Seems like some cool features.... if those were available on my ppt.... my screen shows none of those. Before you say I need to update.... I am using company microsoft account that remains current. So could it be because I was trying on Mac?

Guys , i found something, i tried a lot but can't get a solution, then i unintentionally changes the speakeroutput as headset by plugging in my headset and then opened recording and yes it is good to go. It's recording video also

I tried it but mine doesn't give me the options like 'clear' and 'settings' on the top right. It also is not showing the options for microphone and camera! Mine is a 2019 Mac so I should have the new version of PowerPoint. Please help...need to record soon before we start teaching remotely from 3/31. Thanks :)

I have watched some other familiar teaching videos where those vloggers' faces also didn't appear on screen. so i'm afraid there may not be camera option in ppt recording. i guess the vlogger's face may be recoreded by a seperate camera and he did a post editing in Pr or iMOVIE to combine the two video together.

Agreed. I don't know with 365 running on PC, but with Mac, I don't think we can make a video narration, only an audio narration. Been browsing for answers but couldn't find one that specifically address this issue.

Hi Kevin, very instructive video!!! I follow the whole procedure, however, after the recording, there is no video on the main slide view where I can preview the recording. I also tried to export the video and the produced file is not what I have recorded. I recorded only 3 out of the 25 slides and the produced video contained all the slides with fixed narrations. Any idea if I am doing smthin wrong?
