I go for a ride in this rare 1981 Lamborghini Countach S. Only 82 cars were made this year! Special thanks to the kind owner for giving me the ride! This car handled amazingly well and was still very fast, even compared to modern standards!

I still think that up to this very day the Countach is truly the most exotic, sleek looking designs ever conceived on this world. Great camera views here, thanks
40 years old and still looks great! what a design
34 years old..
Richard Grover He's talking about the car in general. The Countach was first produced in '74.
40 years on and it still sounds great also
I think that looks terrible. Driving feature too.
Looks great ? haha ugly design . Aventador is a nice design ^^
Remember what most cars looked like in the 1970s and 80s and this thing looked like a spaceship compared to them. It was so cool compared to previous Lambo designs and it became an icon, a classic. As a kid, I shared wall space where my Rush poster lived with a cheap framed poster of a white Countach.
Great taste in cars and music.
The sounds are glorious: exhaust, intake, gear whine, those throttle blips...
Pure Rawness! 😳🤯
Wish all car-reviews had a segment like this. A good long drive on a twisted road, spirited but nothing crazy, so that you can get a sense of the sound/vibe/feel of the car. Thanx for sharing to both the owner and the uploader.
I have to admit, that despite there being faster cars today, with more tech in them, the Countach is still the ultimate supercar. It looks like a spaceship from the year 3000, goes like crazy and sounds in a way only Italian passion can create.
Only if it didn't have those godawful tail lights and a dashboard that's on the level of a Trabant.
Whoever tried It, said that the comfort level Is a joke, and operating clutch and shift lever Is a nightmare. You also have to push hard on the brakes to slow down the car. It is an old project, and driving it Will prove that.
@@Virtuoso23 it's a car you have to put effort in to drive. That's half the fun! You can park it next to any car of your choice, and it will still draw as much or more attention. It's a legendary badass!
Yep because muricans engines sound ugly
Tiaggus That my friend. Is hitting below the belt. American Muscle sounds great. It’s the equivalent of saying AC/DC and Metallica aren’t both Epic in their own right. They are very different. But they are awesome. I know Europe loves our American muscle and the burble it makes.
Still the coolest car on the planet. The newer ones can't hold a candle to this model.
Well, from 80-90s I will say it is a fun car if you are not a Grandpa driver like in this vlog.
I will say it's really scary to drive if you don't have experience to handle this old school V12.
@Crediblesea 007 If you think nobody bought a Countach just to show off, you're out of your mind. At least modern Lambos are actually setting track records these days.
@@user-yv1bf4rx7r
Nah,- maybe in your hometown..

@@MsSoulProvider Does the Nurburgring ring a bell?
@@user-yv1bf4rx7r which goes against everything Lamborghini stood for, ironically.
over 30 years old but still my dream car, one of the coolest cars in history ( my opinion) with a sexy sound like music in my ears.
this is definitly one of the best Countach Onboard Videos on RUclips !!
great work and excellent quality !
Damn, imagine owning one of these in the early 80s... must've felt like driving a UFO.
Fiddlesticks WT it was I drove one in 88 wasn’t mine of course it was my friends boss who was a high business man I only drove it 2 blocks but it was crazy completely different than cars today
When you saw one in the 80’s on the street........you felt like you saw a UFO.
@@jay22nup I saw a white Countach on the highway a few years back, I felt like I saw a unicorn lol.
Give me a fast car that rides decent, a good exhaust note, I can’t even drive my mustang fast and I live in the country, cars and cops everywhere😛
It was
I had two posters in my room late 80's ... A black countach and Heart , Ann and Nancy Wilson .
40 years later this Countach is still looking good .. Ann and Nancy .. well not doing so well .
Sad thing about this car is handing and brakes, weight and size of this monstrosity is also a thing. Once I was driving it. Well my words after it were "never again". There are good sides of this car like it is very powerful for 70s and it is beautiful.
Gotta admit the Countach looks weirder than it seemed back in the days
Was about to upvote you until you talked shit about the ladies.
cards tend to age a bit better than women, unfortunately.
Nancy looks fantastic.
0:32 "Antique vehicle" made me giggle, it is ~50 years old and still looks very futuristic.
40*
Big props to the owner! The car looks like it just came out of the factory, but the best thing is seeing this beauty roaring through the twisties and being DRIVEN like it's supposed to be done. Great video, thanks for sharing
I remember living in north london in the mid 80's, i was a young teen and seeing a red one of these slowly burble it's way through traffic down finchley high road - it was like watching a space ship - i was mesmerised
Great car, proper driving of fun, safety and classic car. Love it. Brings back memories of being in the passenger seat with my dad... Thanks for sharing.
Man, this car looks amazing. The work of the master of Lamborghini design himself Mr. Marcello Gandini himself.
Props To The Lambo Owner For Being A Awesome Guy And A True Auto Enthusiast.
Paul Fuselier why do you put a capital letter on every word? It looks insane.
@@SonnyGTA and what are you? Professor I have the same life as a diet coke???
That Is True
it's so weird seeing this thing, you can tell its older but yet its so modern for its time . nice cars
Funny how futuristic this car looked as a kid. Now the car reminds me of cocaine and easy money. You know, 80's...
I grew up in the 80's too and this car still looks as unbelievable as ever to me.
@@Abruzzo333 hey should I get a 74 DeTomaso Pantera or a new Porsche gt3
This car was only about $55,000 brand new
@@hoobaguy4311 but if you account for inflation thats $287,957 today.
@@FancyCaterpillar That's irrelevant.
I have always loved that V12 growl!...
Wow, thank you very much for the kind words and wonderful compliments, I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
The sound is beautiful
My dream car! GOD What I would give to have a day with this....I even would take a replica...I mean IMO this is the best looking car I have seen.
you can easily find this car for 26k. They're not expensive.
***** Replica, yes but, not a real one.
Vector beat it
Adam Gniewko maybe... but not in looks! And tell us is vector in the history books? Since it doesn’t stand out from the crowd???
Incredible how the design still stands out after half a century. And the growl of the engine. Countach - still the ultimate supercar.
Beautiful video, man. Felt like I was there. You see all the car, hear all the sounds, no shitty music. That's how ALL car videos should be filmed.
Ever since cannonball run I been obsessed
You and me both buddy
It’s been a long time since I’ve seen so many hard 90* angles in a car.. marvellous
I had a poster of a red Lamborghini Countach on my wall when I was a kid. It'll probably be the closest I ever get to owning one. I'd probably have to mortgage my house 10 times over to afford one.
6672rock Im pretty sure I had that same exact poster.
Best Lamborghini ever
papa giovanni Lamborghini and tits
Great sounding V12. Guys this is a real engine unlike these quiet turbo charged engines nowadays :(
quiet? have you heard the mustangs of the last several years? the GTs and the Super Snakes are what cars should sound like.
@@zzz7zzz9 Yeah. The Coyote motor is a true crowning achievement. The sound and performance is intoxicating.
Noise is energy that is going to waste on the eardrums.
Latest mustangs are loud cause they use flatplane crank nowadays, the v8 mustangs ofc, i dunno if they even make v6 ones anymore? But anyway, v10 will always be the best sound to me, nothing beats that
SSSSSSSSSTUTUTUTUTUTUTUTU
I remember when I drove Countach...it was wild and exiting sound like this!!
This is just awesome. Every petrolhead or car enthusiast has to love this old lambo. I wish all the best and joy to the driver and car. It seems to be in good hands.

You know when you are getting old when the older models look better than the new ones sigh!
Black, Antraziht and White are the best color for that dream car!! One of the best looking car ever made for all time, this dream car go never old!! I love it!! Best wish Reiner from Germany
Uma senhora máquina ... Greetings from Brazil, 2020.
Man! I get goosebumps when I hear this sound!
Awesome car, I love the interior, no useless bullshit unlike in today's cars.
Merci pour ton commentaire, mais je déteste ton nom d'utilisateur.
Oh please, it looks like a sack of shit.
Matt R C sure it does...
Cars always had useless bullshit. Obviously not super cars though lol.
I think the same. Today´s cars are full of bullshit for you interect with internet and social media and bla, bla, bla.
Stumbled across this from the virtual launch of the new Countach- Wonderful!
Amzing car!!! I just love the inside. The inside of a modern car is so luxuary, This is a SPORT car and thats it
Wolf of wall street lol
Hahaha
get off the phone
That was the anniversary edition (1989). This one is actually much nicer, in my opinion.
It was a ferrari
A very beautiful piece of art. Thank you for posting it.
Rear wing is a must have in this car!
I love that car so much! The sound is so awesome and the look is exorbitant! This is a real sports car without any luxury which cannot be driven by any idiot. Countach forever!!!
the outside looks great, but the dash is terrible, because that looks like a square cardboard box wrapped in leather. That's why the song "hip to be square" from Huey lewis and the news , comes in my mind everytime i see this car.
well, orginal dashboard.. remember. this lambo was build late 70's to early 80's !!! they didnt used interior desiners much hehe
Martin Meyer
Seriously? 90% of all the muscle cars built in that era had much better interiors. Face it, the interior of that car just plain looks like crap.
well, yes seroiusly. remember, the lmao is not a muscle car.. its a super sports car (at that time) ... nowadays its nothing more then a show off car
I know it's not a muscle car, I know it's a sports car, I know that for that kind of money, no matter what era it's from it should be a decent interior. Look at the 1966 Shelby Cobra. It was a sports car, it was utilitarian, yet the interior was MILES ahead of what went into the interior of this car. Don't get me wrong, it's got a badaased engine, and I love the body style, hell I watched "The Cannonball run" three times just to look at the Lambo. But it failed in the QUALITY of the interior, especially when you consider the money it cost.

Wow---Thanks for the ride---Cool car!!!!!!
This is very cool. Ever since it came out in 1974 and ended production in 1994, it's still amazing after 48 years. Plus there is a lego set and i have it. Thanks for the video!!
Love the sound of the square crank V 12. Music to my ears!
Absolutely gorgeous!
Amazing - love that old monster!
Great car, great road, great owner. This is how all those classics should be treated, in stead of letting time pass by in a garage.
That car is just smth else, fam. It's exst note and the v12 smootheness - gosh that's the perfection money can't buy.
for me the most beautiful lambo ever ... thx for the vid :D)
best car ever made
Alekos Olympiacos - Not even in the top 100, but she’s musical!
one of the worst interiors ever. to think that this was in such an expensive car.
I grew up with it as the ultimate supercar.
Today it still looks fantastic, sounds fantastic.
Must admit though that interior looks very dated and low quality compared with cars today😂
I prefer these old interiors , hate new car interiors
It's still a really cool car. The opening from the cannonball movie was one of my all time favorites. I loved the black Lambo with that cool looking frontspoiler. I've heard it was awefull to drive in high speeds but the look was badass.
*I' have this car in Norway, soon will be in Poland. The car is from 89'.*
Just had a flashback of doing several lines of coke listening to "Sweet Dreams are made of These"...
Still my favorite car but in root beer brown with metallic flake is just amazing!
Wow! Thanks for the ride.
License plate says antique vehicle, damn I'm old.
I guess that makes us both antique people :/
it's not "antique". antiques are from the very first autos up to the 1930s. classics are like 30 years old. anything that can be labelled as a "supercar" cannot be antique, and shouldn't even be a "classic".
Lambos are meant to be like bulls, but this one's like a lion (roarrrr), Great sound, I love it.
Wow. Life has changed much. This was my dream car. Still looks excellent outside... But inside... Really old and out dated. We have come far...
Oh what I would give just to see a Countach in person let alone ride in one 😳
It's something about these old lamborghini cars that seem better to drive in than the brand new ones.
you kidding? Muscle cars yeah some of the old ones win and feel alive. The new lambos are on another planet in every way compared to this. Classic does not equal better to drive..
Tim Huth Yes it does, since it hasnt got fake aid systems and 1000 suspension setting or stability control, or other nonsense that does nothing else than interfering and stopping the fun!
Tim Huth
Dan is 100% correct in his statement. These old cars you actually have to drive, they are "drivers cars". Like "firemarioflower" said new cars with all the driver aids practically drive themselves. Newer may have better performance but give you no feel of what the car is doing. I want a car or truck to talk to me and let me know whats going on with the road and these new cars dont do that. I want to be in charge of whats going on not have the car making all the decisions for me, that makes them boring and soulless.
chefdan87 I love your comment. It makes me sad those days of pure driving are over and won't come back.
The Veyron could be the last car with soul, or perhaps the Alfa 4C.
Still, as long as technocracy hasnt completely got the control over us, we still can buy second hand cars. THEY BETTER NOT FIX THAT because whole groups of car people will start a revolution.
chefdan87 I dont want to compare anything but I must agree with you. Last month I bought myself an 1987 Škoda 125, at first I thought it will work just as "I´m too lazy to walk to the supermarket" car :-D but recently I realised that I enjoy driving it more than my way newer "normal" car with all of this electronic stuff. It doesnt have any of them, it doesn´t even have a power steering. But you can really feel what is goin on with that car. In fact most of my friends doesn´t even know how to start that vehicle, its complicated proces and only I know every "necessary" steps :-D
"It's not how you do, it's how you're feelin'...
be anything you want to be..."
fucking love that film haha. Pretty much spawned my love for cars and especially the sound of this one.
Beautiful car. Thanks for the ride-along!
The contrast from the futuristic exterior to the 1970s interior is astonishing. Even manual roll-up windows lol
simply the BEST car ever
This car is a Beast!
this is to cool i love the Countach ! thx for on board show !
Awesome car & driven well too I must say!
Now that's something you don't see everyday!
can I ask a question? what is the point of the stereo, I would rather listen to the engine
+Donavan Glasser I know right, maybe it's for shows, play some cool music softly while people view the car.
So you can play the cannonball run theme song
blkdeath210 lol
Funny thing is that it was a $7500 option when new.
I hope it was better then bose 😬
Is so true!.Has been a icon for a generation of a kids in the 80'.My obsession for this car is never over!
Beautiful place, beautiful car, and what an engine roar!
I envy you so bad. :) That is one of my dream cars that I want to get, and the color is pretty good too. :)
Gotta love the Countach, such a classic! What did you think of it in comparison to modern Lambos? I always think the ride is really smooth in my friend's QV.
Great video as always man! +1
cant think of anything better than opening up a Countach on a nice open road.. Just listen to it.. Absolute BEAST of a car!
I had a 25th Anniversary Red Countach 5000S with the gold wheels on my wall when I was a kid. It is THE poster car for 80's children. 25 years later and I'm still obsessed with this car. If I ever had the chance to buy one and I had the money, I'd sell my house...I'd sell my soul...whatever it took. Just pray to God that it doesn't ever break down.
Fun factoid: The angled surfaces help evade police radar. Higher trims of this model came with counter measures to help the car dodge heat seeking missiles.
Great video!! I need to shoot one of these for my Hot Cars and Hot Girls website, have always loved them since I was a kid and saw one in Cannonball Run...
V12 symphony. Just love the Countach, my dream car.
I miss the old SubaruWRX fan logo. This video is over 10 years old! Crazy man
Great engine sounds. Too bad he couldn't really open it up for us! Back in the 1980s, I lusted after the Countach. If Darth Vader drove a car, this would be it! In black, of course!
Try driving that in Texas!
Great video, thanks for sharing. Done properly,no silly music, just the awesome sounds of that wonderful Lambo engine.:)
This is legend. Awesome music, I have really good feelings in my heart when I heard it.
That would sure catch my eye if one of them passed me on the road
It's not quite right without the rear spoiler, but that's not a complaint.
I think exactly the opposite. This looks sooooo much better imho.
Front spoiler too
Jim Fisher Jim. You’re out of your mind. The rear spoiler completely makes this car!!
Jason Vyzer yeah. It’s just not right without the rear spoiler. If something likes it better without they don’t know cars.
Mr. Handsome but they LOOKED amazing!!!
A most dramatic supercar, surprisingly huge & one of a kind.
Such a supreme mighty super car and the interior looks like an 87 ranger. It's perfect.
