How High You Could Jump on Different Planets in 3D

  • Gravity is what keeps your feet firmly planted on the ground. That’s why the average person can only jump as high as 1.5 feet straight up. But what if we had to live on another planet - say, Venus or Saturn? Let’s find out what difficulties we’d have to endure there. How high could you jump on other planets? The gravity on Mercury, for example, is less than half that on Earth, so you’ll be able to jump about 4 ft high. But if you were to jump being on Venus, you’d make it just shy of 1.7 ft high because the mass and size of Earth and Venus are almost similar with Venus being a little smaller.
    Bu the way, guys, did you know that Venus is a really inhospitable place? You’d be able to see Earth from here if not for the whirling mass of clouds above. They create a monstrous greenhouse effect, as well as immense atmospheric pressure. And despite the constant temperature of a blazing furnace, rain here wouldn’t bring relief: the clouds up there are made of sulfuric acid! Let's learn more about these amazing objects that orbit the same sun as Earth! Here are some surprising facts about the planets of the Solar System.

      @NoTheEarthIsntFlat Scientists need to know this to determine the gravity on each planet. Also it’s just a cool fact that could be shared with everyone. Knowledge is Knowledge, as long as your learning something it should be considered knowledge. You may think this will not help us, but it will. We don’t need to know what happened 100 centuries back, but we still study them. Why not study about the future instead of the past. Its knowledge, to build your brain up. You dont need a reason to learn something.

By the way I have broken my left kneecap a few weeks ago. I was searching for training and exercises and what I can or cannot do with my injured knee. That's probably the reason why youtube wanted me to show how high I could jump on different planets! Well, the truth is that I can jump anywhere with my injury. The landing is what hurts! 🤷‍♂️

    • @Triplane1234
      @Triplane1234 6 месяцев назад

      Phobos would pull you back down eventually, but you'd be able to jump about 30 metres (~100 ft) high and you'd take 12 minutes to fall back down. So you can basically fly for 12 minutes on Phobos.

    • @majutsushisliceoflife
      @majutsushisliceoflife 6 месяцев назад

      It'd be close to being original Superman, who couldn't fly, but could leap tall buildings in a single bound. Still, it'd be awesome to do 100 foot high jumps, and have a leisurely descent.

    I'm glad you touched on Ceres, because I knew the gravity there was slight, but any googling I've done never mentioned what specific fraction of earth's gravity it has. So this information was interesting to know; thanks! You know, Mercury barely has any air, it's about like the moon. Their "atmospheres" are thinner than the best artificial vacuums most labs can manage to make for experimental purposes, etc. But I think you just meant Mercury's general elements.

    • @clydehawkins7194

      if you ever want to find the gravity of a planet/moon I can give you the formula, the stats you need are super easy to find from google.
      Just multiply the mass of the planet by G (universal gravitational constant, the number can be found online) then divide it by the planet's radius squared.
      Make sure the mass is in kilograms and the radius in metres (if its in km divide it by 1000). G*M / R ^ 2
