What I always find funny is how it’s never anti social kids wearing these clothes it’s always the trendier kids who actually have friends and as someone who’s going through high school pretty lonely, it just comes off as fake and trying to be quirky. You’ll never find an actual anti social person wearing these clothes and the fact Kim kardashian and Kanye wore it should’ve been a dead give away of that
That's not surprising, the anti-social kids have better ways of not being like everybody else other than dressing like everybody else. This is more of a hipster thing. Let's all be different from everybody else in the same way, that will show how unique and independent we are!
I unironically thought that Anti Social Social Club was an actual club at my school, and I wanted to join it, but I was too antisocial to even ask anyone who wore the shirts. One key thing you touched on but missed was the fact that they didn’t create the product until the order was placed. They had a preorder way of making these products where they waited until the drop was over then proceeded to create the product while the site says “sold out”. That is why they took so long to ship out because they didn’t even have the product made most of the time.
I think this is part of a cash flow issue, where they have to wait to receive all the money before moving ahead. Rather than just a typical drop shipping approach.
I’ve never cared about streetwear, & I legitimately thought that ASSC was an ironic thing people on the internet made up as a joke, which eventually became a worldwide meme
In college the only people who wore assc where international students who came from very wealthy families. Never saw it as a emo or sad person brand but more like Supreme or hypebeast kinda brand. I graduated college a little over a year ago. Not sure if that’s changed
I went to an international school surrounded by these rich kids and you are absolutely right. I always thought it was meant to be an ironic joke, because the only people who wore ASSC stuff were the super popular extroverted kids. I was ACTUALLY one of the loner losers and I just got all my shit at target and hot topic like every other nerdy pseudo-goth loner.
@Ginger Pennington thanks I wasn't sure if YT giving account warnings for saying chinese. Yes, I only see rich Chinese or Korean kids wearing this stuck up brand
If they improved customer service and quality, I wouldn't really mind. The name's corny and I despise internet introverts that think being unapproachable and judgemental is cool, but at least ASSC turns it into a nice aesthetic with a smidge of subtlety (at least compared to those sarcastic shirts from Target we used to wear in middle school, lol). I'd get a design, as long as it didn't have the exact "Anti Social Socal Club" text besides the tag.
Hating a nebulous generalization of people that basically applies to most people at some point in time is what unapproachable judgemental internet introverts do lol
the people who wear this bullshit are not introverts. maybe you should learn what it means to be introverted. introversion is not a personality disorder. this world needs less of the extroverted arrogant assholes who think that everybody needs to conform to their personality type.
It doesn't appeal to antisocial people at all. It's a hype beast brand worn by influencers and the sort to come off as more interesting wearing a niche/recognisable brand. They even advertise it with dudes hanging out with hot girls.
I'm not into street wear or anything and honestly I thought anti social social club is just a phrase pretentious teenagers used to seem quirky then it became overused. I didn't know it was a brand until now lol
I also want to add that perhaps the biggest change is that their demographic grew up. The edgy, "in your face" " shtick was abandoned after the company's users aged and went into the workforce, graduated high school and college, etc. Combined with the quality of clothing being a gamble, it's no wonder why they aren't as popular as they used to be. They catered to a niche group that had their identity parodied by independent sellers which was an ego blow. Not to mention the rise in m@ss shootings, too which made people who wore the hoodie a target for scrutiny. Appealing to high schoolers and young adults, their price point was too high which made fans buy knockoffs instead. It isn't one thing, but rather a handful of things that led them to their current status as a brand.
the idea of people making fun of kids who may be a little bit edgy/weird who are most likely suffering from mental illness because they wore a hoodie to express themselves that fits the 'stereotype of a shooter' pisses me off to my core. it happens all the time tho. saw a vid on instagram the other day of a kid clearly having an autistic meltdown in class and someone recorded him with the caption "well im not coming to school tomorrow" and all the comments were shitting on the poor kid making similar jokes.. fucked up world we livin in..
In 2018, I bought a sweatshirt and a T-shirt from Anti Social Social Club. For some reason, I got charged for three identical and separate orders. I emailed customer service to see if they could cancel the two extra orders, and got sent a screenshot of their terms of service - no refunds. I tried to get my credit card company to cancel the two orders and they sided with ASSC. I waited for over a year and only received one sweatshirt, even though according to ASSC I ordered three sweatshirts and three T-shirts. This year my credit card company finally refunded me, but I never got the rest of my orders. Never purchasing from them again!
I'm gonna be honest here, I didn't even know this was a brand at first. I thought it was like a reference to a sitcom bit or something because anti social social club literally abbreviates to ass club
Assc and neek's earlier fashion taste and the fact that it was popular at the time got me feeling a typa way. I was a lonely anti social kid with low self esteem and i was mad poor. Seeing these other kids who were skinnier or taller or more attractive wearing these clothes brands with cliche fake deep wording and slogans and their 'sad boy' Instagram edits and 'im too cool for this' attitude, getting tons of gratification and validation from the others really did a number to me. Especially since most of these kids who would wear these brands or think they're cool would be the same kids who would bully me for being anti social and a loner, making me even more anti social. It's just shallow kids acting like they're deep and stoic as if that gives them personality

Been waiting for this episode. I feel like they could have been so much better. They slapped their logo on everything but didn’t change much. I feel like if they had more designs and maybe collared a bit more, and ofc shipped orders quicker, it could have had a lost more positive reputation
I didn't know this was a brand. Just thought it was a phrase akin to "Live, Laugh, Love" or whatever and while I don't hate it, I definitely have a negative association with it. The only people I see wearing it are all fairly social and on the more annoying spectrum, are the very popular "alt" people. I have nothing against alt fashion types but as a not popular loner, it always came across as super disingenuous.
exactly! live laugh love is that type of hyper-energetic crap you'd see at american eagle or claire's while huffing chemical perfumes and listening to shitty mall music. being apart of a club is not anti-social, not to mention that "club" involves buying these overpriced, low-quality shirts
I just ordered a shirt and it took about 2 months to get. Tbh it was my first time ordering and didn’t know what to expect but wow all the rumors are completely true. The shirt feels so cheap, the original tag is cut off so definitely made me feel suspicious about being authentic but when I checked the npc tag on the app it was verified but none the less I think one shirt is enough to make you back out the brand for the quality you’re getting. You’re better off getting a supreme shirt or fog essentials
A comment on them selling out every drop: they don't actually sell out by volume, they just have it so that the website displays sold out after a certain amount of time as they are made to order (at least for the hoodies and such). I've purchased from them in the past and had over 3 hours to check out before anything displayed sold out.
I've seen they have changed it over the past year. In the past if you didn't click the email link within 10minutes, you got an expire link message. Nowadays you can sometimes click the link a day after and still get to the buy page. You can only click once and have like 6minutes to buy.
My buddy buys and resells streetwear on the side and once spent nearly $400 on a variety of items in one order from ASSC and it took an ENTIRE YEAR for him to receive it.. legend has it he never spent a single cent from ASSC again
i didn't know it was a brand once I saw them, but i remember exactly when it got popular. At the time, the slur-ish nickname "ansos" (the short version of antisocial) was popularized in Indonesia and used to call those who they found introverted, even though those called introverted was just "too busy with themselves to join your extroverted activities" kind of People. It created a huge line between extrovert and introvert, mainly in school, where they used to passively avoid each other had become extroverts offensively bullying introverts. I was those introvert that had gone such situation. Months later, this brand came up everywhere and of course, felt annoyed by it, because those who wore them was one of those bullies.
to me, i think that their biggest reasons for hate was the unability to ship out every item. people got really annoyed after waiting for many mounths after even so much as a shipping costume, and they would still announce new drops. and this wasnt just a one off. that added with the fact that their customer service was pretty much non-existent, shows just that they became way to big way to soon and had all their priorities in the wrong place.
if you still don’t hate assc after this video, idk what to say😂i waited 2 years for a belt i ordered and then sold it right away because id outgrown the brand in the time it took for them to ship my order

I’m shook this is a edgy streetwear brand, I’ve only seen my rich Chinese international student classmates wear them. I legit thought it was some mainstream poorly designed brand… I guess I shouldn’t be surprised they are basically another Supreme, the other brand my classmates wore.
I thought this was just a random thing on some shirts. It’s always funny when brands or things like this blow up. A celebrity will wear them and then everyone wants to be part of that niche group of ppl. Being a nerd or geek or anti social is trendy now. Liking anime is trendy. I hate things like this. The masses will follow anything. Wear and buy what you like. Be who you are and learn what makes you happy. I feel like pretending will always just cause stress and unhappiness in some way. It started as a way for real anti social people to wear something that spoke to them, but then turned into a forever 21 brand by Kanye that sells overpriced shoes and shirts with holes in them lol sounds about right.
It's trendy, but they will still look down at the og fans. That is what I noticed. People will ask you what anime you watch but if you say anything that isn't mainstream they look at you like you are scum. Same with video games.
5:37 that depends entirely on which Gildan blank you’re using. They make great blanks actually. The Softstyle blank is the cheap one and I’ve made the same mistake with those.
I remember seeing people wearing these shirts and wanting to buy one. Although this is when I was unaware that some fashion items have drops and stuff so I was confuse why I couldn’t just find a way to buy it. Once I kind of figured out how it worked, I remember not having enough money to buy one of their items but maybe I lucked out not getting one
Actually popular people being anti social makes a lot of sense. In order to get to the top of the food chain, you probably have to have some anti social traits.
There was a point in time when being anti social was considered uncool, i think they get hate when "popular" people wear them and mainstream them ironically the best way to sell merch is have it blow up, high school mentality lol
In psychology anti social doesn’t mean introvert it is actually the clinical term for narcissists, sociopaths, and psychopaths. It’s so weird that we see people wearing something that says they’re in that club
I’ve seen the hoodies before but I didn’t know it was an actual brand. I also see the logo/phrase on A LOT of Japanese cars in the car community, usually paired with broken hearts and such.
Pisses me off how people think antisocial means "shy" or "socially anxious" it actually refers to antisocial personality disorder, AKA psychopathy/ having extremely low/no empathy.
This was a pretty fun watch, didn't expect it on my feed but here we are! Being honest, I remember seeing this brand in high school and I thought it was a club at my school. 😅 This video was a real eye opener, informative as well!
I hate this brand because people wanna seem like reclusive loners while also being preppy and popular. It's just another way to fit in now, which goes against the whole concept of anti-social. Everyone says they're depressed, everyone says they have anxiety. It's not cool, it's just a trend to be sad. Almost like people are saying "I'm cool and strong because I keep going when it's hard to." And "You don't have it as hard as I do" it's not obvious that this is the point, but it's clear to me. I really dislike the people wearing this brand.
there's a skateshop in Vancouver Canada called antisocial skateshop that's owned by former girl pro Rick McCrank, and had been making pretty iconic t shirts that read "antisocial skateboard shop" years before assc. This Neek guy may have bit their name a bit and I think that's where some of the hate is coming from.
I placed one large order and decided to never order from them again, their product is made to order, it takes 4-6 months to receive the product, they use cheap Gildan shirts that cost $2.50 in bulk, you are literally paying $40 to get a print on a T-Shirt, you get more value, better quality and faster shipping when ordering from China, I’m still surprised to this day on how big they got with such bad management.
i absolutely love assc; i agree that they don't necessarily put out a good message, but from a person who suffers from significant mental health challenges no products make me feel happier than wearing these products in public and getting weird looks from passerbyes
*I saw the shirt on ROBLOX, someone wore it they were a slender like yrs back, only time i saw this otherwise was on youtube where a slowed+reverb channel had the pfp of that brand. Didnt know it was a company..*
if i was neek i would have hired a brand manager THE SECOND kanye wore the hoodie. you need professional support to run a business growing as fast as assc did.
I personally love simple t shirt designs with a small logo in the front and a big logo/image in the back, when I discovered the brand I genuinely liked the design and past weekend (July 16) I made my first purchase, bought 3 t shirts. Perhaps I'm the one to blame for not doing my due research but after seeing this video and reading the comments about bad customer service, long shipping times and basically having a chance of not even receiving the order, now I'm worried! I'm from Mexico so taking into consideration it is international shipping it also makes me think shipping times will be longer and more chance of not even getting my order. What a bummer, again as I mentioned I really liked the simple t shirt designs but oh well I guess now I'll be playing the waiting game and hope for the best. Thanks for the insightful video and best of luck to everyone out there that ordered!
I ordered too. Weird tho. People on here come with horror stories of the brand. People on Insta say they've improved a little over the years. Idk, I just hope I get my bag, sweater, and shirt. Been over a month I think so we'll see what happens :/
@@5megamind I received mine surprisingly! It took around 3 months timing but my order arrived, but I can't sat the same for my sister. She placed an order with me in July 16 and hasn't received hers, also ASSC is not responding my emails regarding the order. It's now obvious that their customer service is trash and they definitely ignore orders that are most likely lost (in this case my sister's). Even tho I got my order it makes me mad my sister hasn't, and dealing with them is basically non existent at this point, they just ignore my emails. Overall it's a gamble with their service if you will or not receive your order, and the customer care is trash. If you really want their products be ready to lose money as you might never receive the order.
Love stories like this because it shows that even if your product is desirable people will trash you for having terrible service. Vote with your wallet people
To put it bluntly aside from the poor quality service I think what has happened to this brand to make it so hated is what happens to alot of fashion trends in the past which is when you have something that a small group of people who are outcasts follow and then as time goes on it becomes more and more popular and alot of the same people who treated the outcasts badly and even made fun of them for wearing the clothing that they wore, start to later on dress exactly the same way as dressing that way has become hip which if that is the case in this situation you can't really blame people for not liking it anymore.
I’m a college student. Over the past year I’ve seen a significant amount less of these hoodies, and more “text me when you get home” hoodies in a similar font.
Wait... the "Anti Social Social Club" logo was designed in 2016??? Maybe my memory is all screwed up, 🤔 but I remember seeing that same logo as far back as 2005 at punk shows 🤔???
"ASSC caters to those on the fringes of society" Just 12 seconds in and I can tell you the answer to the question posed in the title, and it's this: People hate ASSC because it's just another Hypebeast brand now. Doesn't matter what it was or meant to be, once Hypebeasts latch on your brand is just another lame Hypebeast brand. Probably funny hearing this from the guy with a supreme shirt and Nike dunks in his PFP but it's true, learned it from first hand experience
I like the phase when I first saw it cause i thought, "That incorrect." But at the time I saw it i was deeply depressed and friendless. So in a way it made since. I have autism and very powerful social anxiety to the point it's hard to mask. So when I saw the very people I grew up being called a freak by wearing it i was like. "Oh it's a them thing. The Ironic depression thing" so i never look any further into it. Except for a cool vaporwave wallpaper i had on my phone with the phrase on it.
Lol I just get fucking chinese versions for 10 bucks on taobao and their customer service sounds better than the actual source LOL. I like wearing the hoodies solely because boomers and similar aged folks come up to me at bars, restaurants, or airports and are like "Man that's a pretty cool shirt, where do I get one?". Idk, it's a strangely cool experience.
@@modernbusinesschannel I'd have to agree with you, it's weirdly comforting though in some areas (i.e. the example that I just mentioned) and can be a weird way of bridging the gap between different camps of consumers/people. I've really considered ordering a bunch of the cheap $10 ones in various sizes, before I got on a vacation, and just see how many I can give out to people who want them but you wouldn't expect them to know the brand or enjoy it. It'd be a fun social experiment and probably get me some "Oh this is fuckin' cool man" responses and some photos taken with me. Also thanks for responding, I know you get a lot of comments at the time being so it means a lot you took time out of your day to reply. Thanks, and keep up the good work! Enjoying the channel.
I had a friend who would jokingly call our lunch group in middle school in the 2000s the "Anti Social Club" so everytime I see that clothing brand it reminds me of them . The man missed out on some big money had he branded that back then.
Much like Supreme, it started out as a joke that makes fun of Streetwear and designer clothes brands because of how overpriced it all is. Then, again like Supreme, they became the very thing they hated and made fun of, they became the Mainstream.
I'm just now learning about this "brand" His name he goes by and the just the reason behind the brand is laughable. The fact customers are pissed off because of customer service to the point they are buying bootleg versions of it else where... Meaning he probably doesn't have a copy right or anything. Sounds like a totally professional company honestly... Definitely not a money grab scam
So, this is some forum lurker who got insanely lucky and made an overpriced brand that somehow serves the "fringe parts of society" but also is worn by major celebrities? This is just Supreme but without the irony.

They had a preorder way of making these products where they waited until the drop was over then proceeded to create the product while the site says “sold out”. That is why they took so long to ship out because they didn’t even have the product made most of the time.
You’re right! Somehow I neglected to mention that. Thank you so much
I think this is part of a cash flow issue, where they have to wait to receive all the money before moving ahead. Rather than just a typical drop shipping approach.
It’s anti social as psychopaths narcissist……
Agree from my experience (25 year old from Sydney australia)
Exactly! It's all rich Chinese kids with Balanciaga sneakers and Corvettes.

I also hate internet introverts lmao
Hating a nebulous generalization of people that basically applies to most people at some point in time is what unapproachable judgemental internet introverts do lol
I committed genocide and hate crime against those internet introverts too
the people who wear this bullshit are not introverts. maybe you should learn what it means to be introverted. introversion is not a personality disorder. this world needs less of the extroverted arrogant assholes who think that everybody needs to conform to their personality type.
I would think that the whole thing is a joke. "Anti Social Social Club"? Why would you wanna be in a social club if you're not social?
I always viewed that brand as the epitome of "I'm 14 and this is deep"
It doesn't appeal to antisocial people at all. It's a hype beast brand worn by influencers and the sort to come off as more interesting wearing a niche/recognisable brand. They even advertise it with dudes hanging out with hot girls.
What a brand...
It’s anti social as psychopaths narcissist……
I'm not into street wear or anything and honestly I thought anti social social club is just a phrase pretentious teenagers used to seem quirky then it became overused. I didn't know it was a brand until now lol
95% of people that buy anti social social club wears are actually extroverts from my personal meetings.
what did you expect?
And I would have thought receiving the sweatshirt was punishment enough.
“Self enjoyment toy” that’s one way to avoid RUclips flagging the video 😂
I spent like 10 minutes figuring out how to include that, but have the video still monetized and reach an audience haha
ASSC isn't my style, it's so bland and expensive, not to mention it screams "Emotionally damaged with money"
I'm gonna be honest here, I didn't even know this was a brand at first. I thought it was like a reference to a sitcom bit or something because anti social social club literally abbreviates to ass club
imagine needing a brand to relate to
Assc and neek's earlier fashion taste and the fact that it was popular at the time got me feeling a typa way.
Your right my brother I was popular and somewhat leaned into the sad boy thing but deep down I knew I was relatively well off
This brand sounds some cliche shite you'd find at Hot Topic for Kid's from Middle Class Suburbia would wear to appear edgy/unique.
lmao I thought I was the only one, as a preteen, I thought it gave off the same vibes as that "normal people scare me" shirt or whatever it was that floated around in Hot Topic in the 2010's
@@worstusernameintheworld9871 honestly, as someone who loves Normal People Scare Me merch and hates ASSC - i can see the connection now lmao.

The "anti-social social club" shirts gave me the same vibe as the girls who came to school in cookie monster pajama pants.
Been waiting for this episode. I feel like they could have been so much better. They slapped their logo on everything but didn’t change much. I feel like if they had more designs and maybe collared a bit more, and ofc shipped orders quicker, it could have had a lost more positive reputation
literally how hard can it be? You could just setup an etzy or similar store and you don't even need to do anything but just create designs
I agree. At least Supreme is usually good quality haha
why u getting 2015 hypebeast stuff. there are loads of better brands that give u your moneys worth.

“Creativity is subjective”
Effort isn’t subjective 🤨
i didn't know it was a brand once I saw them, but i remember exactly when it got popular.
That’s insane

Junior H of all people brought me here, I attended his concert recently and when I went to the merch bar to buy some merch I saw that he had a collab with Anti Social Social Club and I thought to myself “damn i haven’t heard from this brand in years”
Customer: "So.. where's my hoodie"
Neek: everyone hates me
ASSC and it's logo always said "I'm a twelve year old boy in a grown man's body" to me. Like what kind of adult would actually belive that the name means anything unless they're still stuck in their feelings and attending good Charlotte concerts.
Calling Neek a fashion designer is a stretch.
Once I kind of figured out how it worked, I remember not having enough money to buy one of their items but maybe I lucked out not getting one
just didn't understand when popular kids or non antisocial looking people displayed "ANTISOCIAL" just seemed cringe
Actually popular people being anti social makes a lot of sense. In order to get to the top of the food chain, you probably have to have some anti social traits.
@@12012channelexplain
There was a point in time when being anti social was considered uncool, i think they get hate when "popular" people wear them and mainstream them ironically the best way to sell merch is have it blow up, high school mentality lol
In psychology anti social doesn’t mean introvert it is actually the clinical term for narcissists, sociopaths, and psychopaths.
It’s so weird that we see people wearing something that says they’re in that club
being anti-social is not the same as having an anti-social personality disorder (and having ASPD is not the same as having NPD like you suggested)

Pisses me off how people think antisocial means "shy" or "socially anxious" it actually refers to antisocial personality disorder, AKA psychopathy/ having extremely low/no empathy.
It doesn’t necessarily mean the disorder, that’s just being nitpicky. Shy and socially anxious aren’t the same thing either
This was a pretty fun watch, didn't expect it on my feed but here we are! Being honest, I remember seeing this brand in high school and I thought it was a club at my school. 😅 This video was a real eye opener, informative as well!

@@modernbusinesschannel You’re very welcome! Keep up the wonderful work! :)
i just love that brand for their designs at their t-shirts, hoodies and their creativity.
As an outcast in my school who barley talks to anyone I had thought of getting these hoddies once but didn't because I thought it might seem cringey
there's a skateshop in Vancouver Canada called antisocial skateshop that's owned by former girl pro Rick McCrank, and had been making pretty iconic t shirts that read "antisocial skateboard shop" years before assc. This Neek guy may have bit their name a bit and I think that's where some of the hate is coming from.
The “locally hated” and “sad boi” of clothing brands
This has always appeared to me as a brand for rich kids who hate their parents even though the kids pay for everything.
Basically trustfund hipsters
I placed one large order and decided to never order from them again, their product is made to order, it takes 4-6 months to receive the product, they use cheap Gildan shirts that cost $2.50 in bulk, you are literally paying $40 to get a print on a T-Shirt, you get more value, better quality and faster shipping when ordering from China, I’m still surprised to this day on how big they got with such bad management.
I’ve never ever seen the loner and introverted kids wear this stuff, it was always the popular kids.
... "became the most infamous street brand of all time" - I learned, whilst hearing about it for the very first time.
i absolutely love assc; i agree that they don't necessarily put out a good message, but from a person who suffers from significant mental health challenges no products make me feel happier than wearing these products in public and getting weird looks from passerbyes
I had an ASSC pin and had no idea it was a whole brand, I just thought it was a phrase or something.
Have you got your order?
I think the fact the brand is hated makes the brand more aligned with it's customers. I'm sold.

Appreciate you! Hope the algorithm really blesses me this second half of the year. Going for 100k by 2023
I saw people with this shirt on campus my freshman year of college in 2016 and I legitimately thought it was a club on campus.
Banger video as always, have a good one

They can't keep getting away with this!
"ASSC caters to those on the fringes of society"
Just 12 seconds in and I can tell you the answer to the question posed in the title, and it's this:
People hate ASSC because it's just another Hypebeast brand now. Doesn't matter what it was or meant to be, once Hypebeasts latch on your brand is just another lame Hypebeast brand. Probably funny hearing this from the guy with a supreme shirt and Nike dunks in his PFP but it's true, learned it from first hand experience
Fun fact: people who are lonely or asocial don’t usually go around wearing teeshirts that point to them being lonely or asocial
Great video man , proper made
I like the phase when I first saw it cause i thought, "That incorrect." But at the time I saw it i was deeply depressed and friendless.
How are people who wait months for orders they may not receive “hate”? Logistical nightmares plagued these brands tho
im an introvert and hate this brand
The fact my first Tshirt design sold more than his is really inspiring lmao
i didn't even know they were still "poppin'" cuz where i'm at, this brand has seemingly died out lmao
Interesting. I find the relationship people share with streetwear items super interesting. The modern day consumer phenomenon is something else haha
