Very nice review as always! I would have to agree with you on everything that you said. The short and hard to position steam wand joke was delightful. 😂 I do wonder when the next update of the Legato/Apex might be, since these are two different Chinese OEMs who manufacture the grinders and coffee machines. We shall see. Anyway, great to see a new video of yours! Tom
Hey Tom thanks so much! Both your Apex videos we're great -- lot's of info. As for updates it feels like they should be pretty quick. The whole DF way of doing things has proven very successful so I'm assuming others will use it as a blueprint of sorts. But that's just speculation. Let's see what happens. :)
I bought this machine, it's stupid simple to add an OPV (which i did and set it to 10 bars) and i also wrapped it black and it's easy to replace the knob as well (i hand turned a black walnut knob which matches the DF64 now, with the added matte black wrap they look really nice next to each other)
Your sense of humor is on point man, really adds to your videos in a good way and I find myself laughing like all the time. And its great to see so much work put into each video, I feel like I'm learning something every time I click on one of your videos.
Fantastic video. I will stick to the Flair for the moment. And will keep waiting for the Meticulous. Hopefully it will see the light of day some time before the decade is out. Lol!
Very nice review. I actually just bought an old Gaggia Classic for $200 but this MiiCoffee machine has been on my watch list. I like the ability to mod but I’m not sure I’ll ever take the time to do it. Haha!
@@kg-Whatthehelliseventhat Hey! Thanks for your message. It's honestly been fantastic. Only thing that could be better is a OPV for when I'm dialing in new beans and start on the wrong grind setting. I would definitely recommend the machine! Especially for the price (I paid ~450USD)
@@kg-Whatthehelliseventhat The Turin Legato V2 is available for pre order at $75 off - due in early October. It has 2 PIDs now and an OPV. I ordered one.
I have heard good stuff about this machine, glad to see it really is pretty good! If I was looking for an entry level machine this certainly would be a top contender
I bought the turin modle doesn't have the brand on it .. I absolutely love mine ...it's pulls 9 bars all day but you need proper grind size. No gripes at all
Always great videos!! I keep watching machines' reviews but I probably will never change my small flair neo my eureka Filtro and the nanofoamer...105+150+60 € and so little place on the counter
In Australia, I've priced this machine as being within $100 of a Breville Dual Boiler (when on sale). I think the BDB is the better machine on most measure - proven performance, local warranty support and just a better feature set.
I would love to see what they can come up with by doubling the budget, say coming in at just inder $1000, better steam wand/portafilter and a separate pump so it can pull shots and steam simultaneously and increase the hight of cup space so larger cups and scales can be used.
Great video! Bought a new machine from Aliexpress recently from Hibrew Coffee, the H10B. I would love to see what a experienced reviewer sais about it ! There is almost nothing about it or the bigger version (H10A) on RUclips unfortunately.
Bambino is better as a true novice machine. The legato takes some thought and precision to get the most out of, but the extra effort is definitely worth it. (I upgraded from a bambino non-plus to a turin legato. the auto-steam function of the plus makes it even more of a novice machine.)
I bought a casabrews 5700 pro about a month ago and sort of wish I knew about this one. The casabrews does OK, but lacking in some areas as it pertains to brewing. The dual boiler looks nice.
For me, when a product comes from china , health parameters coming first. Is this a good stainless steel material ( are metals in the proper combination ?)
as long as you have consistent control over your variables and puck prep, you can achieve a flat bar shot at whatever pressure you desire. takes a bit more work, sure, but like aramse said, it's more of an annoyance than a dealbreaker. I have this machine (thankfully I got the legato without the off centered white label branding), and I love it.
Yeah, neutral design is very much welcome, especially at this proce. A kitchen with appliances that all try really hard to have a unique design and scream "look at me" is tiring and just looks messy. If I was working as an industrial designer at a kitchen appliance manufacturer, I would try and start a partnership with some other competitors to develop some sort of design standard that each brand could use to create some products specifically for this standard. The standard would be a set of principles: vertical edge filet sizes, height, depth, etc. A bit like a Bluetooth standard, but for design. Your comments on design are sharp 👍
Agreed. Sadly, the few cons Aramse mentioned were serious enough to cause me to wait or pursue a different brand/model if they can’t address these soon.
4:53... weights about as much as a dose of coffee and is more fragile than the male ego"... liked and subbed. Nice machine, I would worry about how long the 'electronics' lasts. The GCP 'dimmer mod' allows for similar pressure ramp-up/down.
Unfortunately not available in Europe, even if it is used as a base for Kafmasino. It would beat most of the machines up to 1 k€ or even slightly more. But when thinking about efficiency, nothing can beat thermoblock (Ascaso, Decent).
There's a company in Europe Turing these machines into something like a budget decent, looks awesome. Around 1000€ and you get full profile programming and a display
14:14 Using a $365 filter on a $500 espresso machine 😁 Maybe it’s ‘just’ the $85 basket. (Weber calls their outrageously expensive portafilter a ‘unifilter’)

Hi!
I’am only 12s into the video and you’ve already made me laugh out loud, literally! 😂
Thanks!
This is becoming my favorite coffee channel. Perfect balance of information, humor and entertainment. We should hang out.
I am stoked I found it!!! Great channel ☕️👍🏽
i love your sense of humor.
Yes, his straight face while making jokes (is he joking though?😁) is priceless! That and imo very informational videos makes it a joy to watch.

I’d like this approach to reviews for any product that I buy
Great review. Thanks.

How would it compare to the Breville/Sage Bambino Plus?
An amazing video as always .
Was there a voltage issue in this for India? They've released a V2 and it might be a good deal but they have it only 110V currently.
I can help but to want one! Great video ❤️☕️👍🏽
How would you compare this to the Breville Bambino Plus?

this is one of the $300 Gemilai CRM 3007G rebardge with MiiCoffee stamp on it. Good machine but you can import it yoursevlves to save some money

The dual boiler looks nice.
This really seems like a perfect starter machine 🤔
Apex vs. Profitec Go, thoughts? Use case is 2-5 milk drinks per day.
I thought that miicoffee fixed the preifusion thing with a circuit board swap. Besides that, Great Review!
Is it available for purchase in India? If so for how much and from whom?
Your parents think you're a disappointment? Why don't you make them a cup of coffee to help them realise how mistaken they are!
It looks like a worse Lelit Grace. Naked metal machines like these are a treat to vinyl wrap if you ever get bored of the car engine look
For me, when a product comes from china , health parameters coming first.

I’ve gotten to where I really enjoy 6 bar extractions. Really going to need them to add an OPV on a future iteration.

I’ll be interested to see how the next gen model of this machine compares. Right now, it seems there are too many negative quirks.
Agreed. Sadly, the few cons Aramse mentioned were serious enough to cause me to wait or pursue a different brand/model if they can’t address these soon.
The upcoming Turin Legato V2 has an OPV and 2 PIDs. Same price.
How about if compared to breville bambino?
3:06 my first thought seeing this machine was that the logo makes it look cheap, now I have to be mad that it’s not centered too.
Hey @aramse Any updates on SOFI?
Is this Gemilai?
Was wondering if as you mentioned in 14:51 anyone has designed a paddle or small knob for the "flow control" screw. Would be happy to buy, 3d print.
Thx waiting for v2 (opv and fix of pi)
I'd love to see this up against a Lelit Anna with the PID to see which wins!
So basically we're almost there. Just add bluetooth / wifi, volumetric and pressure control and we have near perfect machine for 600 USD.

I'll stick to my Rancilio Sylvia. It's clearly the blueprint for this cheap knock off. Like the video, BTW. 👍
Look like my Profitec go !
A bit of acetone will remove that logo nicely 😉

I think you might have meant (in regard to purchasing the Apex…) “ Before you pull the TRIGGER?” Just thinking.
Yup with respect to the apex.

Haha it’s just the basket but 90% of the testing was done with a regular VST basket.
I think they should try to forgot price/cost and re-build this machine properly. I am willing to pay $200~ more for the facelift.
homie get that plant a pot 😭
Speaking of design 😂 I am a little bothered by the lines holding your neon logo
Haha I hate them too but they're a bit of a pain to remove in post
QC is terrible, they need to fix it
I’d rather pay for quality and this machine doesn’t have it.
GOD DAMN IT !!!! - IT IS 500 .- DOLLARS !!!! - FULL YEAR SALARY IN 50 COUNTRIES !!!! - JUNK , JUNK , JUNK !!!! LOOKS AWFUL !!!!
