- TMNT Shredder's Revenge is finally out! This is a brand new beat 'em up developed by Tribute Games, which was heavily inspired by Konami's classic arcade games, and the early 90s era of the series. I grew up on this stuff, so it's nostalgic seeing all of the references to the cartoon, movies, and games. They packed so much into it, that they ended up with a run time of nearly 2 hours, making this one of the longest beat 'em ups I've ever played. That'll be somewhat polarizing, but I don't mind the length, personally.
Gnarly is the name for this game's hard mode. The normal difficulty is very easy to clear, and while Gnarly seemingly had very minor adjustments, it's quite a bit more difficult. From what I can tell they basically make you take twice as much damage, and bosses have twice as much health. I think some enemies also move faster or can be more aggressive, but I'm not really sure tbh. Still, you get 1UPs every 200 points, so you've got a lot of breathing room for mistakes.
Rafael is really strong. Both of his running attacks do two points of damage and lead directly into a combo. His dragon punch has a good hitbox on it too. The only thing I don't like about him is that his dropkick sends the enemy flying back. It does two points of damage, but I think every other character can follow up their evade attack with a combo, so the knockback on Raf's isn't as useful. Other than that, he's great.
Anyway, it's a great game and I'll be playing it a lot more. If you're a fan of the classic turtles, you have to play this. It was made for you!

I love that each character feels different and has advantages over the others. Where Ralph lacks in range he makes up in strength and being able to move. Mike lacks strength but can hit multiple times very quickly. Don is slow but has range and a killer special. Leo is balanced all around. You can feel it when you switch characters. April, Splinter, and Casey are great additions. This game is awesome!

Raphael’s namesake is Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino, who was born in 1483 and died in 1520. Raffaello Sanzio was a painter and architect of the High Renaissance. His work is admired for its clarity of form, ease of composition, and visual achievement of the Neoplatonic era. He was enormously hardworking, running a huge workshop. Despite living a short life, he left a vast body of work. His career came in three phases and three styles. His father was a court painter to a ruler of the highly storied town of Urbino. He died when he was at the height of his career in 1520.
That there's a Wu Tang Clan song in this phenomenal Turtles game with Ghostface being the Shredder is making me so happy as a 90s kid.

Raphael has been my personal favorite since the original arcade game (yes I've been a gamer that long) he's definitely one of the best in shredder's revenge in my opinion. Good to see someone breeze through it with him, and someone who's even more dedicated than I am lol

The cars passing by in lvl 3 look like the old school batmobile. I just bought this game but have not yet had time to play it. I can't wait to see what they do for DLC as well. Congrats on this video by the way. Very dope

Gnarly arcade is awesome after you really learn a few characters. I played with my 7 year old son on 'chill' story mode just the 2 of us and it is perfect. He's learning new moves by watching me execute moves and talking/ coaching. If you want to play a hard version 'gnarly arcade is legit. The lives count with no continues and the pizza 10 count is a perfect game mechanic to add strategy to know where and when to die/knocked out especially during a boss fight to not setup a would be rescuer to be taken out as well. The easier modes are the best and least frustrating way to learn the boss patterns for a serious Arcade mode 'Gnarly run! This game is awesome!
Enter the Shredder. This game is gonna get the game of the year, nice run through.

i like it when runs are not flawless no damage runs. Makes it more real and looks like how a normal playthrough goes
I've yet to see a no damage run on gnarly but there are no death runs.

@@tigerfestivals5137 Most levels in Streets of rage 4 are terrible tbh. The dodge mechanic in TMNT makes the game so much more fluid and fun to play.

Is Rap op? The lack of range doesn't seem to matter that much considering how good he seems at closing the gap. You're very good at this game.
Raph's reach might be the shortest, but he can hit much harder than the other turtles.
He's pretty weak imo, short reach and no infinite loop
@@Aggrofool As shown in this gameplay, a player will need to close the gap between Raph and his enemies as quickly as possible before taking them down.
He is the worst character but he packs a punch. So does splinter and Casey, but they have more range.
EDIT: nvm the pros and TAS players say Raph is the best.
@@krazyzyko Of course, Raph has a higher attack power... In most other incarnations, Raph is the most aggressive of the turtles, and he often channels his anger into his attacks.

In 3:56 you can hit object that can finish enemies and hear the turtles saying anything.. but don’t know why did the game remove their sayings. You can still hear when your character is April.
while TMNT 1987 is pretty iconic, 2003 series is the one I've grown up with, it's really damn good as well
also has the baddest, meanest, most menacing Shredder for sure
I made it to episode 11 on Gnarly. I'm not done with this game until I can beat Arcade Gnarly.

Figures your first death of the run would be to a black-clad Foot Soldier. My sympathies, I *hate* fighting those guys, especially on short reach characters like Raph.
Their jumping sai toss counterattack is a pain in the neck; they don't always use it, but they can easily spam it, and as a result it's very hard to predict and dodge unless you handle them gingerly. That becomes a problem when they start attacking in packs or getting mixed into other hordes of Foot, especially white swordsmen, blue shielders, turquoise naginata-wielders, burgundy axemen, and their light-pink kunai-tossing cousins. Basically anything that can cover them with guard, knockback, super armor, or has an attack similar to their own. If I know black-clad Foot are coming, I either try to catch them as they jump in and juggle them, or have a Super Attack prepared to just stomp them on contact.
I'd say they're the most dangerous Foot Soldiers outside of Survival mode, and they're probably trading face-punches with gray Rock Soldiers and Mouserdroids for most dangerous normal enemy outside Survival mode, period.
Now That's what I call a turtles team up!

Seeing as you have done this with all the characters I'm curious what characters you thought were best.

casey. He has seven stars total which is extra to his range , while he also has two stars in everything else. Making him not only above average, but have as much range as don. This is really op for combos and even recovery.
@@user-cy4zq3hz3p In practice he has less range than don. His startup attack is either a jab (neutral) or a medium range kick (forward+attack). Both of Don's starting attacks hit super far.
@@ZombieRommel Which is what makes Don one of my favorite characters in the game. He has the range game and is able to hit enemies and bosses from a further distance to play it safe. Heck (regular)Shredder can have a hard time getting to him because of his range.

Okay, one thing bothers me about this game. At the end of Stage 12, Krang transports you to Dimension X, where the ruined Technodrome is. Level 14 makes it very clear that you're not on Earth. But for the final boss fight, you're clearly back in New York. When did you travel back out of Dimension X?
The game has an overworld, the move from Dimension X back to Earth was likely shown there.
The overworld however is exclusive to the game's story mode. This video was done in arcade mode, where the overworld is scrapped to maintain the arcade experience. As a result, the transition from Dimension X to New York isn't as seamless.
They got Raph doing shoryukens now?
There are other Street Fighter references in this game too like Mikey doing E Honda's headbutt move animation for one of his dash attacks or April having the same combo animation as Karin's in Alpha 3 and Chun-Li's anti-air attack

I would love to play it but I don’t have Nintendo online and don’t feel paying extra for it at the moment, is it still fun playing solo? Also, is it possible to play with a computer A.I. controlling other characters?
I love playing solo, but there are extra co-op only features, like being able to revive teammates and special tandem attacks. You can't play with AI controlled allies either, unfortunately.
Now we need a new Double Dragon or Bad Dudes.
And Final Fight and Golden Axe.

The key to getting good at any game is analyzing enemy patterns, knowing when you should and when you shouldn't attack, in order to outlast them.

What makes Arcade mode different? Just having to do it in one go?
Yes, but there's more differences: No health and super meter upgrades so you start with default health which is lower than story mode and only 1 super meter instead of using 3 like story so that means no radical mode either. You also have to earn extra lives every 200 points. Lives and continues are limited and if you lose your last life on your last continue it's game over and have to restart from the beginning of the game.
Would exist a senran kagura game with this mechanical or similar to this
