8:10 this duo team exchange has to be one of the funniest things I've ever seen in a fighting game. I just loved how morrigan is hitting wolverine and ryu is down there chucking fireballs at strider!
The fact that you give props instead of excuses when you lose is what makes this channel great.

That's the thing about being a Good Player! They definitely know and recognize their faults and adapt from it as quick.
Justin was mad aggressive the both times he fought this guy. The guys very patient and knows how to react when needed. Plus his Morrigan is very quick and forces Justin's Strider to waste meter. Very smart.

he's good at the Morrigan air dash. most people try to ground dash to sneak a low light kick but he comes in over the top and wrecks that comfortable crouch gaud. pretty smooth. he's also making space for himself when you crowd him with Strider.
That was amazing! Your own skill is impressive, which makes it that much more frightening to watch someone do that. Your admiration and respect for your opponent are awesome, too, as is your good cheer. Top notch!
Alan played one of the most honest patient ground games I've ever seen and did it with mid tiers

If this guy actually legit block + shoryuken on that small window without macro, his shoryuken input is indeed godlike.... just imagining how fast u should do that in reaction to actually work is quite insane.

There was this morrigan player teamed with chunli that was my rival back in 1997 to 2001 playing in the arcade with this game back in high school. He was so good with the flying dash and crossup and the grab that he would use 1 token and play for hours and no one could beat him. Until I came along hehe using cheap tricks like infinite attacks of chunli and gambit that when we fought, it was a waiting game because literally 1 wrong move can cause you the game. I became bored of this tactics and just played fairly which he appreciated but I use ryu's double super tatsumaki to end fights quickly. Other people became good as well over the years, it was really a very fun time.

He is capable of playing a defensive ground game in a game like MvC and be succesful, he's totally good. I used to practice the same game before but ultra quick characters and Strider abuse were too much for me and my keyboard, I would like to try today.

Morrigan is my favorite and I use it with stryder. I don’t like wolverine he lack in a lot of areas. I also use sanguief and dhalsim.
1 year later and this video still gives me nostalgia chicken skin on my arms! stuff like this gives me good feels and brings back memories of fighting games glory in the arcades back in the day!❤

not impossible but probably is the best ryu on mvc.
Neither character has overpowered stuff or easy to implement win conditions in this game, so they are considered low tier because of this. You have to have immaculate neutral and/or be considerably better than your opponent to do well with either character or this team as a whole, because the gimmicks are just not there.
This player does have excellent neutral, understands the game engine quite well (punish on low block stun moves, jab roll punish, unblockable duo team situations, etc) and clearly demonstrates match-up experience and understanding of what typically to expect from his opponents. Couple that with the knowledge that pretty much every character in this game has very high damage potential and it's not too surprising to see low tier heroes thriving in mvc1. In a lot of ways it's easier to achieve this in mvc1 than in most other games in the Marvel vs series.
How is Morrigan and Ryu low tier? I really never understood that. Is Ryu considered low tier is UMVC3? Cause I use him as my anchor and stay with the comebacks. I always felt Morrigan has a great skill set in every game she is in. Just wondering.
I think Ryu is relatively strong MvC1 in particular, though I don’t know Morrigan’s tier placing. It could be that because she can’t do the projectile game she has in UMvC3, people think she lacks identity? Unsure.
Seeing the defense alan has doing light(?) soul fist into jump back air-dash down is really nutty, though.
Yeah, idgi either. Morrigan has crazy mobility and great attacks/combos/supers, and Ryu is just, well...Ryu.
Someone please explain 3:25 - blocking is so weird in this game. I’ve played this game since release and it’s one of the things I’ve overlooked because you just assume there’s going to be blockstun.
Might be keyboard/hitbox player? Pressing block simultaneously inputting dragonpunch like cancelling into a move
