    Hello my friend. I want to egrave acrylic to create cookie stamps. IS this machine good for egraving without lines inside and clear result or after egraving the are lines inside the holes? thank you :)

    • @NEWTechCreative
      @NEWTechCreative  Месяц назад

      Great question. There are some aspects that can influence clarity in finishes for engraving and yes you can get reasonably clear surface finishes with the correct line interval and multi passes at different directions etc. there is also post processing options to further smooth surfaces. I’ll attempt to have a play for you and show results sometime today.

    hey! is it true it comes with a calibrator that is tuned for 3mm materials? I plan on basically only cutting that so that would be really useful

    • @chungnun4948
      @chungnun4948 16 дней назад

      also, what power did you use for the 3mm clear acrylic?

    • @NEWTechCreative
      @NEWTechCreative  15 дней назад

      Thanks for your comment! The distance calibration can vary from machine to machine. It’s best to do the ramp test to check. There were some additional materials that the machine came with, however unsure if they were for measuring focal point. I believe I ran the acrylic at 9mm/sec at 85% power… I’ll have to check actual settings.

    Hello can you help me? The manual of my K40+ is poorly written and lacks of clarity, which made the initial assembly and calibration frustrating. It took significantly longer than expected to get the machine up and running due to the unclear instructions. Thanks.

    si It's possible to cut 5mm acrylic. i wont to use 5mm, but will be using perspex as i know this is a best quality acrylic to laser cut. would it not be better to have the water chiller to? im in the uk so not hot here but seems like your in Oz my cousin?

    • @NEWTechCreative

      Yeah the the machine runs just fine using water, however I have noticed that there is a water chiller available too! Not sure how much more useful it would be but might make a difference through summer!! Yeah summer gets pretty steamy here is Oz!

    Hi, thanks for your video. I’m currently looking into getting a small CO2 laser machine to start making my own acrylic jewelry with 3mm thickness. I’ve seen other review videos of this machine, and it seemed like the edges of the acrylic weren’t very clean and looked a bit melted. However, in your video, the results seem pretty good. Do you think this machine does a good job in terms of the edge quality when cutting acrylic? I’ve heard that some people prefer to cut in multiple passes to prevent melting, but I’m not sure if the edges come out clean and smooth that way. Thanks for your response!

    • @NEWTechCreative
      @NEWTechCreative  Месяц назад +4

      Thanks for your comment! After using the machine for more time I realized that the small ‘blow outs’ were caused by the honey comb bed under the material and if I raised the acrylic material away from bed with some scrap pieces of acrylic, all the small ‘blow outs’ disappeared and had a great finish.

    I’m a little confused I have never had a laser before but I want to get one and not sure which to get I am new to all of this what’s the difference in omtech co2 k40 + and a diode laser ? and I thought it only needed a air purifier what else does it need?

    • @NEWTechCreative
      @NEWTechCreative  3 месяца назад +1

      Great question! The main difference from the perspective of laser technology is that CO2 lasers can cut a greater range of materials. Diode lasers unfortunately cannot cut clear materials and limits what you can create with your machine. As long as you mount your air hose outdoors, you won’t need a purifier. It was only the water need to purchase additionally to cool the CO2 tube.

      How many passes do you wanna take? It’ll get through basically anything with the right lens and settings, but I’d guess 3-4mm would be a good “normal” thickness for a 40w machine.

    That acrylic case looks so cool! Didn't know you could get a C02 laser in this price range. Do you find the bed size limiting?

    • @NEWTechCreative
      @NEWTechCreative  4 месяца назад

      Great question! The bed size is perfect for A4 sized material and can purchase acrylic in this size, however I would always appreciate to have a larger working area! The size is reflected in price and their next version up does do 500x300 I believe but at a higher price.

    • @NEWTechCreative
      @NEWTechCreative  4 месяца назад

      @dustinrex4585 Yes this includes shipping! If you use at the suggested max of 75% power, it should last around 1100hrs… for engraving I usually run at 20-50% so I recon it would last me many years if I used ever day!
