Came here to say something for anyone thinking about buying this car, look at different dealerships around your area even if the drive is a hour or more, a dealership near my house wanted 26.5k for a S with a 21k msrp so a markup of 5k. But another dealer had the SV for 23.4K msrp and sold it as such. I am now driving an hour next month to receive the sv which was 3k less and is also a trim higher.
Yeah these guys at most dealerships are crooks. There should honestly be a federal law against dealership markups. Anything they "say" they added themselves to give them reason for markup should be completely optional at the discretion of the buyer. Also, supply and demand should not be a reason to charge extra for a vehicle when having a vehicle is detrimental for everyone's daily life. I love Capitalism, but I also believe in what is right, and these dealerships are just trying to make as much bank as possible with zero regard of fucking over the customer. It's disgusting.

Would've considered that - but wanted cruise control which is n/a on the S. Edit: Didn't know they were or forgetting another reason didn't consider Sentra. Wanted a hatchback, maybe. Yes, test-drove a '17 Note hatchback, iirc could only get cruise w/ a cvt-only trim.
I have a 22 with the sr premium package, the sport tuned suspension on the 18 inch proformance wheels really helps. Just changed tires to Michelin sport all season four’s night and day about the stock tires. I have drove around corners fast in the Sentra never feel a lack of grip
I would agree that the car has amazing style as does the Altima. Some of the best looking sedans on the market. I'm afraid of the Jatco. Maybe I'm wrong but it seems as it they have a history of not being reliable compared to Toyota or Honda CVTS. I just bought my first car with one. So I'm concerned about it altogether. Regardless of the manufacturer. Good luck. I hope you have many years of trouble free motoring.
Just ordered this vehicle myself. I am looking forward to driving it especially after doing a demo with one last week. I'll be going for the SV(E). It's not premium like the model you have but I'm excited to drive my 2022. Thank you for the honest review. Cancel your order unless you got a manual transmission. If yours has the CVT transmission hit the cancel button! and run to the nearest Toyota or Honda dealer. Pay a bit more upfront and thank me later:P
Lengthy post so read at your own time: I have had my Sentra 2022 for about 8 months now and haven't had any issues with the transmission. It takes a little time to get used to the gear changing. But it feels like a slight jerk only when I am down gearing from 2 to 1. That is the only gripe I would have about the car. If you already have owned a stick shift in the past. Then this won't phase you or if you have ever been in a vehicle that stick shifts. Besides that, I keep my Sentra in great shape and like I mentioned haven't had any serious issues. Nothing noticeable to make me angry. I will note that the only issue I came across was the interior screen/panel went temporarily black but still functioned one winter. The day it happened there was a harsh flash ice freeze. This effected the sensors of the vehicle and due to that it glitches the screen to black. But still functional in the background despite a visually black screen. I was debating on bringing the car in. But I waited it out. Once the car warmed up enough and the sensors were not frozen over. The main interior screen/panel returned to normal. Prior to purchasing my vehicle the dealership tried to scare me into buying coverage for electronics because a woman apparently had a 4 - 6k fix for a broken screen. Honestly, don't let that scare you. There are online guides on how to reset the screen if there is issues. I haven't had to reset the screen using the button configuration yet. So don't let any of this scare you. All technology in a vehicle is like this. Now one thing I will mention is that for people buying a 2022 Sentra. The changes from SV to SR isn't that drastic. Besides the Auto to stick shift and interior stitching. You can easily outfit your car with LED daytime running lights, fog lights etc... Depends on where you live as well they may have different options available. Just keep in mind the dealership will give you options and you can weigh the pros and cons for what you want. I like being able to do D.I.Y. content on my vehicle like toe kick lighting/underglow, LED running lights, and other custom changes to my vehicle. So it's very possible to upgrade your own vehicle without having to spend the dealership prices. So just keep in mind, the things you can and can't do when buying a vehicle. If you're like me, you can make your vehicle like an SR through D.I.Y alone at a lower price point potentially. Besides that, the Sentra 2022 is a great vehicle and shouldn't receive the internet person backlash that I have seen out in the wild. If I do come across a serious issue I'll address later. Nissan has done a very good job with this vehicle and just needs some small improvements for future designs and patch updates. I hope from a buyer that this perspective helps and if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask
@@RoboGamer1HD If I were you and decided to keep it better have that CVT serviced very 30k miles if you want it to last 200k, but it is no guarantee. It is possible they got the fixed now, but they for years had constant transmission failures and many happened early on like 40k miles and many people replaced multiple transmissions. Nissan should have dropped the CVT by now. I got a 1985 Nissan 720 4x4 that has lasted 40 years. They were a good company before the Renault merger. Nissan needs to do what Mazda did and get back on their own IMO. Hope you do not run into issues down the road, but I personally would not risk it.
Have they done away with the CVT yet? If not I would not even consider buying one and if you made the mistake of buying a Nissan no matter the model if it has a CVT you need to trade it in now and save yourself 5-6 grand before you pay it off!

Not sure why people are still going on about it. it IS true that they should get more frequent fluid changes though. in a regular transmisison you have a clutchpack. in a CVT the fluid IS the clutchpack so it cannot be neglected.
The car is just too small.. Every bump in the road is a monstrous pot hole.... I'm a reformed sentra buyer... I moved up to the altima so much more comfortable.. At seventy five miles an hour the sentra struggles
@Dan_The_Juice_Man last week I got the SR two tone orange and black. Coming from a Challenger it definitely is slower but not to the point I feel unsafe passing on the highway. The styling is much more attractive than any of the other compacts and the color just pops!
@@cgmiddle They are not fine you can google it. Hundreds of people had to replace them and in some cases more than once. Problem was Nissan telling customers they were sealed transmission with lifetime fluid. CVT requires more services than a regular automatic. Every 25-30k miles it should have a new filter and fluid change. The steel belts create tons of metal flakes that is not removed damage them over time. Quit being a Fanboy and lieing for Nissan. I got 2 family members that got screwed buying Nissan rogues. Both traded them off before 70k and one of them had to pay the 5k for a new CVT before she could trade it. Nissan is not the Nissan of the 80's and early 90's. Renault ruined them.

Does anyone know if the sr model has a stiffer suspension than s and sv models or it just has the 18” wheels upgrade and the suspension is same in all 3 models?
Nissan has improved their cvt in recent years such that if you change the CVT fluid every 15,000 miles (about once a year), you shouldn't have any problems.

Dont strecth it past 40,000 miles. in a regular transmisison you have a clutchpack that slowly wears out. in a CVT the fluid IS the clutchpack so it cannot be neglected. On the plus side you never have the problem of worn out clutchpacks.
People I get it you gravitate to this car because its cheap and there is not many alternatives. Here is the deal and I mean it. I hate to see people put into serious financial hardship over a purchase they thought was going to be good for them. Most people buying these cars will not be able to afford to pay for a transmission after warranty. You may have to pay a little more up front to get a Toyota Corolla or Honda Civic, but in the long run you will thank me. Most people finance for 6-7 years now to get payments they can afford. Most vehicles will go out of warranty before you get done paying for them often giving you a huge repair bill a long with your payments. Cars of today are much more complicated to meet strict emission and economy standards so they have expensive technology in them that is still very new. Toyota and Honda will be your best bet at getting a reliable car. Yes they are not immune, but they are still the best and have the fewest problems. They have higher resale and trade in values at the end as well so you always win with them. I can honestly tell you that if you cannot afford what is out there now then go find a good bullet proof grandma car like a 200-2004 Buick LaSabre with the 3800 V-6 engine only or a 2002-2010 Mercury Grand Marquise/Crown Vic/Lincoln Town Car with the 4.6l V-8 engine. You can find them cheap and often with very low miles. Both of those engines are bullet proof almost and have terrific reliability and cheap to fix if they break down. Nissan Quality may have improved its too early to tell, but judging on what has gone on for the last 15 years with Nissan I would be very leary of them and Kia. Goodluck!
Sentras are very reliable cars. CVTs last as long as normal transmissions now especially if u do the fluid changes (they are more sensitive to worn out fluids). Sentras are great cars especially for the money.

You cannot even find many rebuilt engines for them because they are that poor. 2023 is too early to even review, but going on their History I would run from the brand if it were me!

I saw a 2023 sentra sr for $19 msrp I assume I'll be paying 24 or 23 should I do it?

6 Speed Manual is sweet in my 2020 Sentra S only way to go.... has a super smooth quiet ride and gets amazing gas mileage, love my Sentra.

I have ptsd from my 2015 altima trans went out at 80k. The Nissan cvt has me spooked. They need to match Kia warranty to 100k then I’d consider it.

Thank you for a very informative review. My conclusion: a reasonable car for reasonable people willing to take care of the CVT.
Reviews of new cars are fine but reviews of a car 4-5 yrs old are more helpful frankly.
there's a ton of owner reviews from 2020. They all agree with this video. It's been a good, reliable car.

So far so good Gas milage is getting better. IT depends on the dealership 1 dealer wanted 3k over msrp but I ended up paying MSRP for this
