I couldn't figure out how that vase was oval while you were turning it. Then realized it was an optical hallucination on my part and the top was just canted. I do lathe work too so I really shoulda known immediately, also you showed the angle sanding. I was lost in awe I suppose. Also, our Bella is looking more and more like your puppy everyday. Except more muddy and matted.
Have you considered making the rings and doing the glue up but selling it at that point for those of us with a lathe but not the tools or time to put the rings together? We could then turn them ourselves! 😊
Have you ever looked at other's segmented vases and wondered how in the world did the randomness or the stacking become off just enough to be distracting? Yours doesn't have that characteristic which makes the vase very nice.
