Amazing! I can’t get over all the math and details some of you woodworkers do to make such beautiful pieces. It’s a joy and so inspiring. Thanks for sharing your talent.
Great looking piece. I bought all your plans and worked my way to 60 segments per ring. 72 segments is next but I am light years away from 288. Thanks for sharing your craft and inspiring us.
Un travail de dingo , je n'ose pas vous demandez combien coute un truc comme ça . toujours félicitation pour votre patience de dingo et le travail accomplis.
Wow, Tom. That is a very impressive vase you have made, you must be very dedicated and persistent to be able to make this. What kind of program do you use for your designs ?
Tom, Great to see a new video from you. It was almost a year. What finish did you apply? Looking forward to your classes this fall at Marc Adams School of Woodworking.
@@TomLohman It's certainly an amazing patience. I like the idea of making these vases. Yesterday I made my first vase out of 384 segments, and I loved it. But there is no precision at all. The segments between the rings do not fit together. Maybe I will make a similar gluing device too. I think your work should pay off handsomely. How are the sales of the finished products? In general, do they buy them? Or are they made for yourself?
If you changed for a screw clamp to a lever clamp, you could probably save half a second each clamp application. After a quick calculation, that'd save you about 1.5 hours total holy crap how are you able to do projects like these? :D
This was the first and maybe the only time I’ve done this clamping, could only do it for 41 rows, the feature ring because was close to a cylinder. I have lever clamps but they just don’t have the same pressure.
I think you forgot one crucial, if not the most important step in this tutorial: how to develop the patience and determination of a turtle doing a marathon. Perhaps you're a 10th generation Japanese craftsman reincarnated? What is the diagnosis for the opposite of ADHD? Is it called Lohman's syndrome?

Thanks for posting this ... a pleasure to see your work as it progressed!
Fantastic work. The pieces you make are incredible.
Fantastic Tom! Nothing short of spectacular actually.
Great video as well,
Gary
Good to see you again, Tom. 👍 Very nice piece.
Absolutely gorgeous! that is something special.
Fantastic Tom, beautiful piece of work. Not even close to your level yet. Hope to get closer in the future. You are the master segmenter.
Wow I love it. I wish I had the talent to do that.
Jeez, what dedication! Beautiful!
Really enjoyed the video. What a great piece of art. Kudos to you.

Absolute madness.

Thanks, I use Segment PRO.
@@TomLohman Thanks Tom, I'll go check out woodturner pro sometime
Tom,
Great to see a new video from you. It was almost a year.

I use wipe on polyurethane, see this fall!
Wow, wow, wow. It’s stunning. A piece of art. How long did it take you?
Thanks, it took around 500 hours to make.
The work is very cool. Unattainable for me.
Who buys vases like this? And for what price?
I make the gluing jigs, 14” jig is $800, and the 24” is $1,000.
I don’t know who would buy this piece. I put 500 hours into it, and at $20/hr comes to $10,000.

@@fft6476 I don’t sell many vessels, I keep most of along with donations to charities.
Tom looks like that glue up fixture is beefed up quite a bit from previous versions. Nice job.....but I still think your crazy 🙃🙃
Incredible piece. What did you do for the bottom?
I made a bottom using my laser.

You are amazing amazing
How did you come up with that jig you use?
Designed it using VCarve, made the parts with my CNC and then put it together. Made more than 80 jigs now for other people.

Maravilhoso!
Hope someone gave you five or six figures for that! Museum Piece for sure.
