Great video. I have a question regarding the SM-2 missiles since I've been having trouble using them for anything. Do you use them for missile interception? That's the only use I can imagine they're meant for in-game. I mean they don't work as anti-ship missiles ('though they can be intercepted the same way), they don't seem to work as anti-aircraft missile either (Although I could be using them the wrong way), they're definitely not ASW. So the only thing I can imagine them being useful for would be to intercept enemy anti-ship missiles. Am I correct in this assumption? Or is there something I'm missing? Anyways good video. I'm subscribing to learn more about how to use this mod properly. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for watching Panzerfire. Valid questions and you are not the first to ask. Its very hard to explain the mechanics through text so maybe a video will be better. You are correct they are for anti missile purpose only. They are super fast and only intercept right at the point where you set it. So you cant just fire with a short range because it will fall into the water. Firing two in quick succession cause a chain of missiles going after each other. So making sure you have different points of activation. You need to estimate where your SAM missile will meet the incoming enemy missiles. The general rule that I find works is half way to two thirds to what fired at you has a high chance of interception. I hope this makes sense. Remember that US/Nato Missiles are slow and Granits are fast so adjust accordingly. I could always make a video explaining the mechanics? Anyway good to have you on board!
@@_OpFor Thank you for the reply. Looks like I'm gonna have to practice that a bit before I can master missile interception. But I will certainly try to do what you suggested. Thanks. :D
SM-2 is only for AA. They claim they can use them for AShM but they have no warhead and are kinetic, so it would be really weak and not do any real damage.
All the sm series are really designed to be integrated with aegis the sm i believe was an updated terrier or tartar... but they ended up being used on a lot of other craft. Antiship is purely secondary for the entire series.
@@patton610 One thing to note, that there are now two versions, a SM-ER (RIM-67) which is mainly AA and used on all the 1970s and 80s cruisers (Belknaps/Leahy through Ticonderoga & Burke), and a SM-MR (RIM-66) which are shorter range, but more effective AsuW versions. Arleigh Burkes have now discontinued using Harpoons in favor of only the RIM-66. This is probably because most opponents of the US have small ships, planes or subs as their naval units -- only the Chinese might have capital ships, and they are mostly going to be fought with carrier aircraft and attack subs. The US surface force needs to provide SAM cover and kill subs more than surface, since the Soviet Fleet is mostly gone.
So in the next US campaign that's you do because I know you doing one already with the US cruiser can you do one with the arlybett class DDG and add some of the mods that add in friendly surface ships
I don't make this mods that I showcase BTW. There are big teams behind both Dotmod and EpicMod. Unfortunately in cold waters there will likely be no chance of having friendly ships, we will need to wait for Killerfish's new game Sea Power
Hey bro, con you give me the link for epic mod? I’ve installed it but it’s very different from yours, it hasn’t the HUD, Russian voices and some ships. Thanks
I suggest Moving Criss Criss movement and Firing UGM fire Curve shot then followed by Straight narrow Track To beat the CIWS. Russian CIWS is too strong in Epic mod Try Dotmod for Arleigh Burke and Ticonderoga ship.
HEY CJ i mean... OP whassup mane some plobems man? You are some days without lunch Videos and i Challenge you to sink a Ship. Ramming he using a sub make it a shorts or a small Video (Edit) i maked that in Atlantic fleet
Hey guys. Hope you have a good weekend!

I'm guessing that is from the missile that was "shot down."
As expected from captain op, keep up the good work o7
Also is this sign that aircraft going to be added in future?
@@tomoemalahayati2862 I hope so! Thanks for watching Ethan!
how to fire missiles instantly? Usually I have to press it repeatedly and it takes quite a long time 🤔
really cool intro! are you planning on playing sea power when it comes out?
1:13 is that ace combat music I hear

Quick question how do you fire the main guns?
Enter does it. Just make sure you click on what you want to target on the map

ticondoroga class is it available and can it be used?
sorry my english is bad
I think its in the process of being added. Thanks for watching!
It is in the game, but the model is the same as the Belknap, only it appears as Artificial Intelligence and cannot be played at the moment.

Lol imagine taking on the Russian Navy with a NATO ship, it would be a massacre of that NATO ship. Russia is ahead like 40 years in AShM tech.
Lol
And an old NATO ship
