My older brother had a similar experience with Paleo. He's been skinny for most of his life, but when he quit smoking he put on a considerable amount of weight. He lived with the weight for quite awhile, but when he finally went on Paleo the weight flew off of him. He's around his old weight now, and very happy with the diet. I might have to finally break down and get on the bandwagon.
I quit my job recently so I haven't been as active. I continued to eat typical fast food and processed frozen foods. I started rapidly gaining weight. Then I cut out all processed foods, rice, and bread. Now, without working out or exercising I've started to lose weight. It's actually a cheap diet once you figure out the foods you like to eat each day.
