Beautiful Build.I wish I had your Shop . I just acquired a M1101. I would happily pay for your patterns for the BOB base plates and materials list. FYI. I love BAJA. Never raced it. Have ridden much on Dirtbikes.
Hi Dave, I really liked the way you did the rack. I actually just won a bid today, and will go out to Yermo, CA in the next couple of weeks to pick it up. Also, congrats on your Vegas to Reno win. I raced class II, and class V In the late 70's to mid 80's. I wondered if you might sell me some of the brackets like you made for BOB? I have a really nice Millermatic 251, but I suck at welding - so I'll have a buddy come over to weld it up once I get it all tacked together. Thank you for your consideration. Pat Brown Mesa, AZ
Love what yall did with BOB. I am picking up my M1102 tomorrow and am wanting to design my rig in Solidworks, would you have a cad file of the M1102 that you could share so I don't have to reinvent the wheel? I'm not asking for the BOB cad as mine will be different but just the base M1102 cad file. Thanks for the inspiration!
I Love what you guys have done. I recently purchased the exact same trailer that you guys have is this something that you would sell plans and a list of materials for so I can expedite building one?
Love the build! I am in the process of building a rack for my m1101. Any issues mounting the rack's support brackets into the threaded holes in the bed rails? I am wondeing how much weight they can hold when the rooftop tent and all my gear is pulling against them like a sail cruising down the highway? Thanks in advance!
I have solid works too and am trying to get better at using it. The nice thing about Fusion 360 is the CAM part of it working with the Langmuir Systems tables, but I have considered a switch to sheetcam and SolidWorks.
I use epoxymaster.com. It works as well as anything can. The only time it chips is if I drop something heavy that hits it with a sharp corner. Besides my lift, it was the best mod in my garage. Cleans easy and keeps the shop bright.
Probably about $250-300. When we picked up the steel we paid $500, but it was for two projects and there is about 30% in short pieces left over that I will use on other projects.
I’m looking from some help m a similar project. In my situation im a veteran who has some mobility issues first I have a 2020ji 2dr Jeep and im thinking of starting out with a harbor freight trailer so al I need to do to get started is registering the trailer mounting the roof top tent with a roof rack on the tent or jeepfrthe gear that doesn’t fit in the Jeep good news it’s just me and the dog. Fits right upgrade after the base and test will be to add a Owen lift rack to carry yjeitems that either don’t fit or I want to keep on the trailer.imthinkingarounf1000 pounds max. I have always been hesitant to give instruction on something that I do not feel like I am a “professional” at. I do have a few videos coming up for the race truck and I can add a “here is what I do” segment on welding. Will let you know when I make it.
@@ntdracing if you ever change your mind, perhaps just fabbing the brackets that bolt to the corners of the trailer, let me know, love to pay you for them!!

Good stuff. Keep it coming.
Thanks...just starting the edit for the roof top tent install. It is big.
didnt expect french fry corndog recommendations :)
Total game changer.
Sweet video !
Thanks
Please till us more about the vinegar bath.

That's awesome. I want to do this to my M1102
Thanks.
@@ntdracing What Linear Actuators did you guys use for this ?
That is an awesome mod 👍🏼 been wanting a to build a trailer for the longest as well!
It is amazing what you get for the price on the M1102s.
@@ntdracing you guys take any volunteers to help in the pits??? haha 😂

Very cool. Gov Planet is like going to Disney land for adults. You can send me a PM through our website. Thanks for watching. Dave
Parts list? Design files? Need this in my life.

is there any shake to it being that it is only supported by the actuators?
Do you or will sell plans for this? I have the exact same trailer.
How did you get all 4 actuators to go up and down at the same time. If you used a controller, what make and model.

Family of 5 sleeps up there. No problems so far.
The modeling software I use is SOLIDWORKS and I’d say it’s similar to fusion 360 which I have also used but prefer solidworks.

This is great wondered if it is all aluminium?
Mostly 14 GA mild steel.
Cheers @@ntdracing did you ever consider building an aluminium frame? Was it cost or strength or both that made you go the steel route?
Do you guys have your digital files for this rack available? Looking to build one of my own. Thanks
Dave,
What is your flooring system? It looks great! How does it stand up to your fabrication work?
Thanks, Scott

Awesome, do you have any info on the linear actuators you used?
Thanks. The link is in the video description and at www.NTDRacing.com. Click on store. Near bottom of page.
Man you got a lot of tip sticking out on that electrode...
Any idea what the bolt size is for bolting into the rivnuts on trailer?
Thanks

Any rough estimate on material costs (just metal)? Just got a M1102 a couple of months ago myself and starting to look at rack designs.

This is exactly what I want to build
Any possibility of getting the rack built for my 1102? Contact. Looked on the website but didn’t see a contact email or phone#.

Do you have any tips for TIG welding roll cage tubing? Also do you have a link to the actuators used on the build? Cheers

Are the brackets Stainless?
No…Just rattle can over hot rolled plate. Works great and easy to touch up.
Shut up & take my money!! I would absolutely pay for this rack setup! Any interest in duplicating that :) ??
Wish I had the time. All of my time has been going into getting the truck ready for the next races.
@@ntdracing man your rack design is, hands down, the cleanest I have EVER seen!!
