Hi Rich, A wonderful video, thanks. On your advice I just uncrated my Blick 999 Model 2 press…..super excited. A question from this video…what stone are you using for an inking surface ? Is that marble ? I have been using glass, but I am always interested in other ideas. Thanks, Jesse
Thanks and congratulations on your new press, Jesse. In the video, the two inking surfaces are a small repurposed sheet of glass mounted on wood, and a large repurposed mirror.
@@boardingallrows ….got it, thanks for the quick reply….the press gets it’s first use this weekend……another question…….what size sheet of the 1/4 inch MDF did you use with that press. I just trimmed a sheet to 18 x 26…… but I think that might be too long…….my largest paper will be 16x20
@@jessekramer3777 - for that Blick press I was using a 18.25" x 28" sheet of MDF. You will want the board to exceed the the size of the paper on all sides. I might print with your board as is first and then trim later if you still want.
@@boardingallrows I have another question about my 999. My question is top roller adjustment technique. My practice so far is to leave the top roller elevated with no contact with even the blanket between uses…..this is “roller relaxed mode” I am using linoleum runners when I print. Do I need to adjust incrementally when I lower the top roller into printing position……with maybe one or two full turns of the screws, alternating side by side……. or can I just crank down one side into my predetermined setting then fully move the other side ?
Excellent! No muss no fuss just clean fun! 👍👍😘
Such a cool mix of patterns and colors, love it :)
That is very kind - thank you!
