It didn't blow up!

I finally got around to testing this Miller welder which is clearly marked 460 volts single phase. That didn't make sense.... No way the previous owner would have 460 volts single phase in his home... but... who knows. The fan was clearly marked 240 volts and connected right to the mains. So... I tested it out and the open circuit voltage was spot on. And.... today it seems to weld just fine!

I have no formal welding instruction, but I could stick weld fairly well back in the day. Nice welding Wayno

good job and video last time a welded with stick was cast iron with hi nichol rods a long time ago. with a old sears 230 amp ac only. take care, be safe and well.

I'll bet if you picked up a stick welder within 15 minutes you would be back in the saddle!

I still have my Lincoln 225A buzz box. When I bought it in 1972, it was AC only. Because of this, 7018 is a problem. I still have a partial box of Fleetweld 57 (no longer available) but I was trained on it.
