On Nov. 7, just 2 days after crash 133, the early morning crash, another boxtruck hits the canopener, backs out and drives off. Then the driver steers his busted truck downtown and hits a 12-foot-clearance bridge on Chapel Hill St. as well! Yes - the same truck hits two different low-clearance bridges within minutes!

This guy has to be a pro. First of all look how much airtime he got with minimal speed. That don't happen without skills. Then two bridges with one truck? Get this guy a sponsor..
I am going to guess the truck had an automatic transmission and the driver "floored it" what he felt the truck slow down.

His mistake was not thinking like a machinist. He should have gone for the 12 foot bridge first to remove a little material then used 11 foot 8 on the second pass.
Too large a depth of cut is a beginner's mistake.

@@harveywallbanger3123 actually, the warning thing everyone crashes into is a different post / structure that is completely separate from the bridge and that is designed to withstand such impacts. the actual bridge wasn't damaged, and i'm sure he at least noticed that... right?

Nah, dude's a hit-and-run scumbag who probably has a criminal record and can't pay for the damage he's done. A normal person would be calling their lawyer after a wreck like that.

@@thomasneal9291 Yes, they do. They also have a will, which they get approved by their lawyer and deposited at the law office. You don't have to hire somebody expensive, and it saves your family a lot of time, pain and money when you croak.
Obviously the second bridge did not appreciate getting leftovers.

From an impact perspective only, it's not the most impressive we've seen. However, two in a day deserves some *serious* points... Tough call. Perhaps if we had more data points to work with... Holidays are just warming up. Maybe I'll we'll get the excavator we've always wanted...

For me the sign does not come across as a good enough warning. STOP this means you! Or there should be some sort of computer connection that keeps the light red until the over-height truck turns.
@@metatechnologist I was specifically talking about the actual 12 foot and 11 foot 8 signs. Every driver should know their height, not rely on a flashing sign to tell them.

@WSD333 who ever it was had no fucks to give that day. If you notice on the 11-8, he tried to power through again a second time before backing up. My vote is on a disgruntled driver.

I drove through there the other day. There are plenty of warning signs and flashing lights. It amazes me how anyone could miss them.

@@BWcapture The result to the truck is pretty much the same, buuut, the driver also ran into a bridge, and then proceeded to run into another bridge. So he fucked up twice.

They need spikes that come up from the road when the safety beam is hit. Shredding all the tyres and ensuring that the truck can THEN fit under the remainder of the bridge without having to back up.

November is shaping up to be awesome! Two crashes in two days!! I love the wheelie on this one. The driver was supremely confident his 12' 8" truck was going to make it, flashing lights and all! Nothing brightens my day like the sad, slow, beeping back-up of a newly minted open-air box truck. I really love that the slogan on that truck is "Whatever it takes", clearly the driver took that to heart!

I'm a trucker and I don't have one ounce of sympathy for these morons. There are warning signs several blocks away of the low clearance bridge ahead and signs flashing in their faces right there at the bridge. There are also stickers inside those trucks staring right in the driver's face indicating the height of the truck. The only thing with a steering wheel these boneheads should be driving is a ride-on lawnmower. And even that's iffy.
Laughter is like good medicine and these clips keep me in stitches. Keep 'em coming!
