    FINALLY someone who does an inside/out method! i was wondering if it shouldn't be done bc of thee added bulk of the seam. but looking at yours it doesn't appear to have any. i've mde the the other way, but they seem so unfinifshed nd i just don't like how they look. if i had a surger or maybe a more expensive ewing machine where i could do a satin stitch it would appeal to me more. but this is perfect. for those interested keep in mind that if you cut the corners off up to the seam line and take something like chopsticks or a pen and poke out your corners you will get a more crisp corner. i'll be making mine with a microfiber on one side and a terry cloth on the other.

    Love this! I made a tonne of these from an old T-shirt. I left my edges raw though, I didn’t turn mine inside out to hide the stitching because I like how they look with the contrast zigzag stitch showing.

    very elaborate beginning to end (hope "elaborate" it's the right term) - I now know what to do with grandma's beautiful old towels that are too thin for using them as regular bath towels :) the idea of collecting thd wipes in a little cotton bag and right away washing it with its content is amazing :)

    I crochet those out of cotton yarn. I also make wash cloths, dish cloths, place mats, pot holders etc. I keep a bag with yarn and hook in my car for when I have to wait anywhere I can make a few. My friends and family love to get them as gifts.

    love that you make these! We make family cloth ( a family of women) for use instead of toilet tissue, and only for pee,lol. These have been washed about 275 times and still look great. Flannelette works great. Saves alot of paper. Also make our own F.h.p.s.

    I use reusable wipes too. I also keep them in a glass on the counter and a bag handy to wash! The comparison ends there however. I actually went on Etsy to a shop and supported a small business. I used someone who was eco friendly and packaging conscious. I will sew some next time but with no appropriate material and my machine in storage(readying for a move) I decided that was my next best choice. As always, just love your videos and also your instagram. You have such a calming presence. Would love to visit and have a cup of tea! Live in the USA, not likely that would ever happen but watching your videos is the next best thing!😊

    I need to finish the supermarket ones first, then I'm definately doing this. I don't usually wear make up and when I do I usually just wash it off with water and soap, but I do use rose water often, as a treat to my skin after a day of work, so I'll be very happy to use some natural cloths! ☺

    I replaced my cotton balls with organic 100% cotton fleece and filled them with a bit of cotton batting. Did ti about 6 moths ago and they are still going strong. So economical. I even used 100% cotton thread to finish them. They are about 2" squared. They are fantastic for my face toner. Making these types of things is so great!

    Hi Niamh, another fab video!
    I have a small request - I’ve seen online people using conkers as laundry detergent. Please could you do a video on it with your views and if you’ve tried it out before? I’m really quite intrigued! If it works this means I basically will never have to spend money on detergent again as conkers are everywhere!

    • @FairylandCottage
      @FairylandCottage  6 лет назад +1

      Thanks! I have heard about the conkers. They are used in a similar way to soap nuts. I have heard they are not as good though and don't create as much suds.
      I went out to collect this year but I was too late and the squirrels had got them all! if you dm me on insta I can find you a recipe of how to do it though...
