    AVOID these Expensive Campervan Insurance Pitfalls 😡
    Many ask which is the best insurance for my campervan? Find the cheapest insurance policy for their camper van and file to documents away. You NEED to read the documents carefully, to ensure you know how to comply.
    There are many insurance companies and brokers, with some being campervan and motorhome specialist brokers. Speak to them and obtain the BEST policy, not necessarily the CHEAPEST
    You have spent thousands of pounds on your camper, you want to protect it the best you can.
    DISCLAIMER: the only advise i am providing is to check your policy documentation carefully.ensure you understand the terms, conditions and you are compliant

    Thank you for highlighting lots of protection problems. Advice as to where one should start, what companies might be worth looking at would be great.

    Unfortunately you will only find out how good your policy is when you make a claim,insurers will always try to not to pay or will give reduced amount claimed to recover loss

    'servicable' fire extenguisher just means 'working' - not that it can be serviced like a commercial one

    So why is it not the insurance agents job to read the policy ...are they all LIARS!! ...yes here in the USA insurance agents LIE to customers all the time The agents should know every policy inside and out

    • @StaycationLifestyle
      @StaycationLifestyle  2 месяца назад

      ‘Agents’ are often not involved. Many people buy their insurance on the Internet and don’t speak to an ‘agent’. They want it “cheaper”
      Because they buy it online, they are not being advised and have to read the policies themselves.
      Additionally when ‘agents’ are involved they can only rely on the information they are given by the policyholder and again some want it “cheaper” so may omit to provide the full facts.
      The ‘agents’ have to provide the details to the policyholders and they do, problem is some ignore it

    Can you recommend an insurer that you’ve used in the past for a campervan?

    Very useful video & excellent advice as hardly anyone reads the T&C’s like the small print in documents thoroughly & get caught out IF claiming. These underwriters are extremely good at writing terms to get out of paying what they should be expected to!

      Thank you. It’s just being aware. It doesn’t take long to read and obtain and understanding of what you need to do

      Silly comment re underwriters. On what basis are you setting your expectations if you couldn't even be bothered to read the Ts&Cs of the LEGAL CONTRACT you're entering into?

  • @_bav
    @_bav Год назад +2

    Serviceable does not mean "is able to be serviced". It means "adequately performs the function for which it was designed" - i.e. can be put into service.

    • @StaycationLifestyle
      @StaycationLifestyle  Год назад +1

      By that logic, does that mean the “service free” ones can’t be put into service?

    • @_bav
      @_bav Год назад

      @@StaycationLifestyle Yup, deffo.
      EDIT: Apologies, mis-read your question. No, "service free" means "does not require regular maintenance", which is entirely different to "is not serviceable".

    Could I ask some advice? - I have stopped using my work van for work (Renault Traffic), and have started a DIY conversion, so far I have fitted side window in the sliding door, a bed in the back, and a diesel heater. I have also removed the bulkhead. Should I now insure this as a Campervan?

    • @StaycationLifestyle
      @StaycationLifestyle  7 месяцев назад +1

      Absolutely yes, you will need to advise them. Any modifications need to be notified to your insurer. Be aware that your current insurer may not like it and you might have to find an alternative insurer, but at least you will know you are covered

      @@StaycationLifestyle thank you, your advice is exactly right, I called my insurer today who decided they wanted to pull the policy based on the changes so I went to a well known broker (AF) who have set me up the correct policy, several hundreds of pounds cheaper than the original 'normal policy I had'. Thanks for your reply, much appreciated.

      @@HikerGirl-ct3nd hey, no problem, I paid £490.14 for fully comp insurance including breakdown cover. This was for a Renault Trafic 2021 plate. I had 9 years no claims to use against the price. This policy covers me for 8,000 miles per year. I hope this helps.

    I've never had any expectation that insurance would ever pay me anything. I mean me, 'meeee'? Haha why would they do that. Hate insurance, or rather hate how out of proportion it all is. Actually all these things in life could be good. I imagine they once were but then companies just let greed overtake and that's the direction everything is going in. It is getting to be less and less people can afford to, errrrrrr, live? So many imaginary problems we invent for our lives. We're overcomplicating living and it's coming at an ever increasing cost.
