Love this video! Gilbert AZ here, been working on turning part of my yard into a garden, for now I have a few things in pots and I'm trying carrots! Appreciate all the helpful details!
I take my time planting each carrot seed in its place so I don’t do thinning, I feel like thinning is just wasting seeds. Everyone is different and does what works for them. Great video, thanks
I'm with you there... I hate thinning anything and I'm not good at it. Some ppl like the guy in "Lazy Dog Farm" say carrots will push themselves up so they grow seeds in a band and don't thin them at all.
Excellent Video! I garden in Chandler AZ not far from you and I would like to offer that it is very simple to made home seed tape with Kid's glue (water soluble) and tp. It makes planting a snap. I usually grow Shin Kuroda carrots for their taste and heat tolerance. Btw, your garden is to die for ♥
This was a great year for carrots in our container garden. Although a little more expensive, we do like the ease of pelleted seeds. After planting it’s just water and wait to pull out the perfect ready to eat carrot. Just amazing. Thanks!
Thank you for this! I have some carrots growing. I just restarted my garden last Tuesday and am using the garden grids like you. My carrots have already started sprouting! I'm so excited. Trying to follow the square foot gardening technique, I did place my carrots 16 per square. Looks like you do. I think as long as they have enough space, the squares can definitely handle more.
Wow fabulous extra long carrots! I’ll be looking for that variety this fall! I always learn something new, so thankful for that! Now I know why some of my carrots 🥕 were hairy 😂 thanks for the tips Angela! 🧡
I use to live in Tempe AZ best garden I ever had. Neighbors said, you can't grow a garden in AZ its too hot. I planted my garden Nov 1st. I planted garlic under palm tree for shade Sept 1st it was almost as large at a tennis ball. Napa cabbage was 18 lbs wow. Corn will no pollinate humidity is too low so I pull tassels put them in a 5 gallon bucket to collect the pollen. Add water and a little dish soap stir will the spray pollen water it on corn silks. Everything grows good in AZ with the correct fertilizer. Melons, sweet potatoes, Pontiac potatoes love hot weather i planted them May 1st had 28 melons on 1 plant, 1 sweet potato plant grew 25 lbs of potatoes. Beans, okra, cabbage, lettuce, tomatoes, onions they all grow good in AZ. About 10 people told me to water my grass early morning for 1 hours or you won't have grass. I know mother nature waters in the evening and after dark and plants do all there growing in the dark so I set irrigation timer to water the yard 10 minutes at 9:30 pm every night. 2 years later neighbors what to know why I have the best yard in town and they never see me water the grass. I told them I water for 10 minutes after dark they called me a Lier. LOL.
I recently moved ugh! I bought 2 raised bed 1 for carrots and 1 for strawberries I will plant everything else in ground this year? But I don't have a watering plan other than the city water? We are installing a rain catchment system but that takes times? what will happen to my vegetables unwavering them with city water? I love your channel ... thank you xo I'm in zone 6a
I know it's late, but I just got motivated and threw some seeds down. If they sprout, will definitely be thinning since they are too small to mess with. Is late April too late for carrots in AZ?
Hello! i noticed a website on your raised garden bed mistakes videa a month ago and in the first mistake, a clip caught my eye of a planning things and would like to know what this is cause in going to be making a big garden in my backyard with my mom. Please, anyone respond, I'm eager. Thanks.

How? Pelleted seeds?
@@alsolark3029 no, regular seeds, regular planting by hand.

@@Lastochkad I don’t like having to thin my seeds. I try to space them out as best as possible.
I like how your videos are so informative. I am a gardener in Santa Rosa and I have found someone who knows more about my garden. Thank you!
I just planted my carrots 3 weeks ago i hoping that germinate ok!

Great tips.
Thank you.
Thinning is so sad.
Nah it's just part of the carrot tax everytime you go in the garden
I stink at thinning out too. I just hate having to pull/kill a plant. 🙂

Found you via Epic Gardens. WOW! So much good information here. Glad I found you 🙂
Welcome! Happy to have you!
This is going to be perfect for me. My carrots are doing terrible. I need to try again! Do carrots do well in grow bags? I am in Chandler.
You can grow them in grow bags, keep an eye on the watering if you do.
I just found your channel. I am in Mesa also. Thank you for you videos. I will be watching them all. Just getting into gardening here
I would love a video on what freeze dryer you use and tips for freeze frying garden fruits and veggies.
I use the medium freeze dryer from Harvest Right: affiliates.harvestright.com/1238-1-1-4.html here's a video ruclips.net/video/KyEwvfTuMac/видео.html
Thank you so much for this very informative video. 😄🥕I am really finding it helpful the way you are covering one plant species at a time. 🌻🦋
My carrots were great this yr! 🙏🤞for my tomatoes this yr.
Great advice. Thank you!
I haven't been successful with growing carrots... 😥 It's interesting that you use burlap, I should try this. Thanks for this video!
Good luck!
Well done. Thanks.
My carrots in my containers were a big fail. I'm in 8b.They didn't form well and were bitter. Oh well. I will give it another go.
What can we plant now from seed in zone 9b?

I use the Medium Freeze Dryer with the Premier Pump from Harvest Right: affiliates.harvestright.com/1238.html

Hopefully you'll get a quick crop before it gets too hot.
Do you have a video on just where to start?
Yes! ruclips.net/video/V2eoq0SqBFg/видео.html
