That's true. For me personally, my hair was much easier to manage after I got it cut. It practically detangles itself and I spend less time washing it and styling. But I do miss my length sometimes.

I'm not even at her length and can't imagine cutting my hair off especially when the goal is length retention. Glad you have not attached yourself to your hair as much as it sounds liberating and free but at the same time we have to honour how someone else feels about their own hair. Hope one day I can feel detached from my hair but for now, I want 5o griwmy hair as long as I possible can and maybe then I can see cutting it as like my nails. I completely agree. I was sexually assulted the past year and the stress of my life falling apart really made my hair fall off and it was really damaged. Everytime I looked at my hair it was like a painful manifestation of my inner stress & turmoil. I cut it for the new year and felt so light and free! No more pain, time to start the path to healing. I just did this 4 days ago. I had to cut 6 inches off my hair after damage from a keratin treatment. Big chop #4 for me. Suffice to say I won't be putting anything on my hair unless it's shampoo, conditioner, oil and gel 🙄
It’s still looks good, you are a beautiful person so your beauty naturally compliments your hair no matter how u wear it. What’s funny is I just cut all mine off too. It was super long and I started clipping and before I knew it, my hair was the same length as yours is now. Like u I’m trying to convince myself it’s just hair it’ll grow back. I've thouvht the same thing. Ever since I went natural ive never applied color to my hair. I've been to scared tbh, thats why I just use color wax instead
That's how I feel about relaxers. Your hair won't be 100% healthy after getting one. But there are things you can do to keep it from breaking off so you are still able to grow it. The same with using heat.

I know exactly what you’re going through Jess, I had to cut several inches of my after the Dominican salon secretly put chemicals in my hair. After a year of treatment and protective styling I cut a total of 5 inches. I did everything to get it back, but the key is to cut it off. Be carful going to those Dominicans, they don’t like our hair. I’m proud of you Jess, keep up the good work

Yes! I can't fit all my hair in a ponytail and I'm used to doing buns. But I know with time it will grow back. My edges needed a break from those styles anyway lol.

Tanesha Reed Kinard yup. When I transitioned from permed to natural I had to keep “trimming” really cutting my hair off every few months and I hated it but my natural virgin hair is the longest it’s ever been in 25 years so it was worth it
I am so happy to see I’m not alone with this. I’ve been cutting the front parts of my hair because it was looking not so great. So I’ve been thinking of doing a mini chop. People will look crazy but I love it best when my hair is healthy and not scraggly looking. You’re a true inspiration. We are in this healthy hair journey together.
As that I did both, grew out and did a big chop after a large set back... I respect you sis. I know the shock will come in in a few days so just remember you have a plan and in the best position for growth. Plus it will grow back in a year with your practices so no worries!

I know exactly what you’re going through Jess, I had to cut several inches of my after the Dominican salon secretly put chemicals in my hair. After a year of treatment and protective styling I cut a total of 5 inches. I did everything to get it back, but the key is to cut it off. Be carful going to those Dominicans, they don’t like our hair. I’m proud of you Jess, keep up the good work

I actually love that you did the big chop. I had to cut my sides and back for heat damage. I totally understand why you didnt want to cut it either. I couldn't see myself cutting mines again but its growing so fast. You are one of the few youtubers that I watch that takes pride in there natural hair and had relaxed it. I really love this video.

Yes! I can't fit all my hair in a ponytail and I'm used to doing buns. But I know with time it will grow back. My edges needed a break from those styles anyway lol.

Sometimes you get tired of those dry colored ends or general damage I damage my hair throughout the year and do major cuts in the summer. It will grow back healthy as ever unless your me 😂

I am so happy to see I’m not alone with this. I’ve been cutting the front parts of my hair because it was looking not so great. So I’ve been thinking of doing a mini chop. People will look crazy but I love it best when my hair is healthy and not scraggly looking. You’re a true inspiration. We are in this healthy hair journey together.
As that I did both, grew out and did a big chop after a large set back... I respect you sis. I know the shock will come in in a few days so just remember you have a plan and in the best position for growth. Plus it will grow back in a year with your practices so no worries!
