When Clapton left in 1966 to form "Cream," with Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker, the band found a young guitarist/songwriter named Peter Green. Green, Fleetwood, and McVie left the Blues Breakers in 1967 to form a new band that Green felt should be named after its rhythm section, "Fleetwood Mac." The rest, as they say, is history. Also, "Go Your Own Way" is one of the most scathing breakup songs in popular music. If you watch Nicks closely in this video, you can see that she's not happy that she has to perform this song, and having to listen to her ex sing about her "shacking up."
