Yes I've seen some dreadful ones which put me off it when it was first advertised years ago. But like anything, they improve over time. When you look at the work of regular tattoo artists these days, it's amazing compared to the tattoos of yesteryear.
At the 11th minute of the video, the certifications. I noticed one of them is from Scalp Culture, which is a SMP company in the UK, they even have branches abroad too.
@@MattBlackUK just had my second session yesterday and since I’ve got home, I pretty much hate the hairline that they’ve put on, it just doesn’t look good at all. Panicking now about what to do…
Sorry to hear that mate. I was very clear about what I wanted with my artist and showed her lots of examples. Did you do plenty of research on the artist? Ideally they need to aim for something that fits the shape of your head and your age, and ensure they stagger the hairline so it doesn't look like a straight line.
Had mine done by Don Dottaz in Sheffield. Like yours it made a massive difference. To say I am over the moon with the results is an understatement, the guy is a total perfectionist!
@@MattBlackUK I regret my hair transplants. It was fine 30 years ago, and I went to Bosley near Hollywood, one of the best places in the country about 9 hours away. Hi Matt, it looks really good on you, thanks for sharing. Thinking about this myself but worried it won't look natural so seeing your experience and how you look gives me a bit of confidence.
Yes I was extremely nervous, and even after the first session I was still nervous of the end result. It really started to come together on the second one and I was very pleased by the third 🙂
Thanks. It fades within a couple of months which helped it blend in even more. So I'm pleased with the way it turned out. I'll probably do another video after 1 year to check in and show everyone what it looks like at that point.
I went bald at 30 and now 47 and still have not accepted it, I can hardly look in the mirror as my head shape is like a coconut. I wear hats most of the time even indoors. I actually envy guys with hair that don't look after it. I am now looking into this to regain my confidence.
Sorry to hear that. People don't realise the effects it has on people, especially in the actual thinning/receding process. It's very stressful for most. It took me quite a lot of time to focus on other things and not worry about it. Having SMP has definitely helped. I hope you find the right solution that helps you too.
I'm sorry to hear about how your hair loss affects you. If you live near Wakefield & would like to come for a free consultation, then I could tell you how Smp could help you if you decided to have it. Kind regards Jo
Hey Matt...great video and ive never come across SMP before, i must say im so impressed, it looks really good, a huge difference it has made. All the best mate...Mark

I'm tired of wearing hats but that's the only worry that's stopping me having it done. By the way it looks fabulous
Hi, your SMP artist will colour match to your exisitng hair. I've had a top up this year, 3 years after my first SMP treatment. It fades down within 3-5 years on average and then you have a top up to freshen it up and adjust the colour if necessary as time goes on. Here's my top up video from this summer ruclips.net/video/RCx_OeQPOFo/видео.htmlsi=FLcRKtF4DGvUUCMY
Looks great, way better than mine which looked like I had hair implants that failed to grow. :) Had it lasered off. Does it still hold after this time?
Sorry to hear you didn't receive good results. Yes it's still going strong, I'm guessing I may consider a top up in the next year or two but for now I'm still happy with the results and current condition. If you are unhappy I would definitely think about having it removed and redone by a better artist. I hope you get the results you're looking for 🤞
It still looks great Matt. I have relocated to Wakefield and opened a clinic where I just do Scalp Micropigmentation and Hair Replacement Systems. I can't upload a picture of it in here but it's really nice in a lovely building. Let me know if you need a wee touch up and you can come through. Jo
The average in the north of England is around £1500-£3500 depending on how many sessions you need and your location. I didn't go to a large company. It's a studio run by one artist so it cost me £1200 for 3 sessions. Try anti shine moisturiser. I use the Loreal Men Expert Pure & Matte anti shine moisturiser, and it's excellent. Smells amazing too.
You looked great before your treatment as well. But after ... wow. Looking extremely clean and badass. I like it bro. Do you like shaving with a razor ?
Thank you so much 😊🙏 Yes I used a razor quite alot before the treatment, I still use it every now and then if I can be bothered but the skull shaver makes life easy and less messy 😊
Yes, I'd rather be straight up and honest about my experience and opinion of it. I'll be doing a 3 year review video this summer, before I plan to go for my first top up, and it's on my list to try and demonstrate different lighting situations so people can see the differences. I'll probably film it in my recording studio as there are no windows and various lighting options in there.
It behaved like a regular tattoo and the intense black faded down a little within 6 months. Which I prefer as it looked more natural, I am due a top up soon and will post a video when I have it done 👍🙂
Thank you. Looks perfectly fine in daylight even on sunny days. Looks really really good in ambient lighting. If I were to be really picky it looks it's worst under spotlight or really bright clinical overhead lighting but still visible. I'd go for it, made me feel much better to be honest. Still don't regret it ☺️
I shave my head and mine looks like this and the top of mine grows but I know I want this look and my hair has been thinning but would be silly to have it done now when the top of my head still grows with hair?
Hi, yes you can still have it done and it just adds to the density. I have areas that grow thinner hair on top and it actually helps the SMP look better.
I don't think I really had any issues with the process to be honest. I was naturally anxious when I booked it, and my worries of it looking bad didn't go away until I saw the results after session two, then I started to feel ok again and excited about the third session. But I imagine most people probably feel that way.
Nice.I recon it would be more natural if you dye your eyebrows and beard with lighter color to match your head. Can hair transplant still be done after smp?
The real hair that is shaved on the sides and back of my head is my natural colour and the SMP and has been chosen by the SMP artist to match that. So that is how I would naturally look if I shaved my head without hair loss problems, so colouring my beard and eyebrows wouldn't look natural in my opinion. Hair transplants can also be completed after SMP.
You look great, homie. For real. We've got some similar features including how the hair loss looked, and you've given me a lot of confidence to book a consultation. Thank you so much for sharing your journey. One question I have is, have you ever considered a traditional head tattoo? I'm wondering if I could still get something tatted after the SMP is all complete. Whatcha think?
Thank you 🙏 - I did actually consider head tattoos as I have always liked what Travis Barker had done. I wouldn't object to it, but I'm happy with my SMP at the moment. I've almost finished both arms for sleeves, and have plans for some more on my chest and looking at inner ear tattoos. Who knows what I'll consider next 😅
I think if it's done by a bad artist it will be noticeable. Also, to people who have done their research for themselves for quite a while. I seem to be able to spot SMP and hair transplants a mile off after looking at them online so much. If you have a good artist, it's almost undetectable. However, I've not really kept mine a secret. All my friends and family know I've had it done because of this video and they were all very complimentary about it and fascinated at first. Now they don't even look at it. It's as if I never had it done, it's just part of how I look now.
I why it should even be a secret that a you made SMP? Isnt it totally normal that someone would like to do it. I have thinking to do it but i would not have any problem to tell its SMP
Your video is brilliant makes me more comfortable to get it done. Your price you paid is so much cheaper than the big companies. I have had a quote for £2700 but this is to also cover a transplant scar. He is well known in the SMP world though. But the work you had done looks amazing so I am now left with the dilemma of using you’re artist 🥴
Thanks Jay. I really wished someone had made a video before I had it done so I could feel more at ease, that's why I thought I'd make it to help all the other people in my position. That's still a reasonable price for an established artist ☺️
Hi Jacob. It's a semi permanent ink, so it will eventually fade over time and require a 1 session top up. But this could be due any time within 3-5 years. Regular tattoo ink spreads and migrates, so would not be suitable for SMP as eventually it would make all my head look like I'm wearing a helmet, so that's why they use the semi permanent ink as it fades away before that can happen. I decided to go for it because I wanted that shape to my face again and I'm still happy with my results. I'll be doing a 1 year update this summer 🙂
That's true. I had a crappy tattoo removed from my right arm from when I was 18 and followed trends. It's been covered over now. I imagine it would be easy to get rid of the SMP. I'm not sure if it would be comfortable though on the head haha
No just the top where hair loss has occurred. So it's blended in with any existing hair. It fades over time (a number of years got some), and then can be topped up with a different pigment if there are any changes to your existing hair colour.
I did a 1 year update video and I've just posted a 2 year update today 🙂👍 Year 1 update ruclips.net/video/D6EYncJ7dug/видео.html&si=qgPxOriYMbl8zvqS Year 2 update ruclips.net/video/vCF4aXTuO2U/видео.html&si=E_iJXy8r6r3xMG7K

Why don't you just use a Mach 3 Razor and shave to the skin?

Looks good
Thank you 😊
Thank you for making a video in bad lighting. That is the only thing I hate about smp. It looks so different in every light.
Looks mint, can’t wait to get mine.
Thank you 😊 hope you have a good experience too!
How many years without colour's change
It behaved like a regular tattoo and the intense black faded down a little within 6 months. Which I prefer as it looked more natural, I am due a top up soon and will post a video when I have it done 👍🙂
Looks good man, well done 👍👍 How does it look in daylight? Thinking of going for it.
Looks great mate, may i know how it worth? Cheers
Hi, thank you 😊🙏 it was £1200 for 3 sessions. Prices vary in different areas and companies I believe, some places will charge 2/3 thousand.
What didn’t you like about the whole process or what would you have changed?
I don't think I really had any issues with the process to be honest. I was naturally anxious when I booked it, and my worries of it looking bad didn't go away until I saw the results after session two, then I started to feel ok again and excited about the third session. But I imagine most people probably feel that way.
Yo al contrario me afeito a diario para que no se note nada de pelo
Hi, I would say it depends on how fast your hair grows so the situation may differ for each individual 🙂
How often do you shave it
Usually anything between 1-3 days but you could probably do it every 2-4 days to be honest 😊
It looks great bro
Thank you 🙏
Looks great, thanks for the video!
Thank you 😊 no problem
Looks good mate
Thank you 😊
@@MattBlackUK I had mine done 3 weeks ago finally im walking outside without a hat..🤗
Yes I find myself wearing a hat alot less, unless it's winter mornings in England 😆
Looks great. Well done. Well worth the cost. 👌
Thank you 😊🙏
Man I'm 43 and lucky to have a full head of hair but I'm addicted to this. Looks amazing🤘 handsome dude
Glad you are enjoying the content 😊
Looking very good 👍
I've been on the fence for 2 years now keep going back and fourth, my fear is if its noticeable and will people be able to tell.
Hey Matt! Just curious…knowing that this decision is permanent, did that concern you at all? What made you decide to go for it? Thanks!
I'll be doing a 1 year update this summer 🙂
you can have it laser tattoo removal for a couple hundred bucks if you don't like it.
That's true. I had a crappy tattoo removed from my right arm from when I was 18 and followed trends. It's been covered over now. I imagine it would be easy to get rid of the SMP. I'm not sure if it would be comfortable though on the head haha
@@MattBlackUK one pass and its gone. you will look messed up for a while haha
looks great mate how much did it set you back if you dont mind me asking ?
£1200 for 3 sessions. It varies on the area you live in and how much SMP you need to combat your individual situation 😊
Looks great
Wow very nice bro❤❤❤
Thank you 🙏
Do you have the sides and back done as well
No just the top where hair loss has occurred. So it's blended in with any existing hair. It fades over time (a number of years got some), and then can be topped up with a different pigment if there are any changes to your existing hair colour.
This is just Amazing, you look great
Thank you 😊🙏
Any regrets after a year? It looks nice
I did a 1 year update video and I've just posted a 2 year update today 🙂👍
