Fancy looking into the Deep Rock Galactic board game, seeing a review for the game and it's a former work colleague reviewing it. Didn't even know you had a YT channel!😀
I would be interested in getting this if it was cheaper. I don't mind spending bigger amounts of money on something I am guaranteed to play, but Ameritrash coops aren't usually my cup of tea. This one however stands out and sounds fantastic. I would definitely jump at the chance to play it if one comes up, or if they release a cheaper standee/meeple version or something
I too love this game. I played rhe board game before I played the video game and loved the board game so much I wound up playing the video game now. Such a great game and agree its a remarably good board game version of the video game. Great review and video!
Woo-hoo! I've never played the video game and I'm not interested in owning this (would definitely play it) but I'm just really happy that a beloved IP was made into a game that you thoroughly enjoy. This seems comparable to my feelings about Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Change is Constant and TMNT: City Fall. My #1 game all-time because it's a beloved IP (one of my favourite comic books) turned into a solid game - a true passion project and labour of love that comes through in the gameplay, story, and production. Really happy that this one pulled through and sounds like a similar success! We are living an age where it is possible to have amazing games based on beloved IP's that aren't just cash grabs. Awesome review, as usual!
Hey! I really liked your review and confirm all the things you said in it! MAkes me wonder if you are going to cover the upcoming expansion packs too? As they have quite a deep price tag for it, makes me wonder if they are worth it or not
Whether they get a full video remains to be seen but I'll certainly comment on them in some manner. Problem is the publisher hasn't contacted me at all for any kind of collaboration even after meeting them at Essen.
The biggest thing holding me back it that whenever I play a video-game themed board game, about 1/2 way through I just keep thinking that I'd rather be playing the video game. Ive tried Fallout & horizon in board game form. I know I'd like this one more than the other two, but still unsure. Great that so many people love it though! I'd rather try this than zombicide i think
Couldn’t agree more! I’ve never played the video game and I love the board game. I primarily play solo with multiple dwarves and it’s very manageable. It’s just plain and simple fun.
Wow. I told my son months ago that they were making this game into a board game. 10!? Wow. Now I'm going to link this video to him so he can see why you give this a 10.
I had to turn down getting this game twice on crowdfunding.. just hard to justify the price and the amount of space it'd eat on the shelf. Really glad to see people enjoying it however.
@@TheBrokenMeeple Haha.. well to be fair.. you likely funded it for your birthday. Either way it does look fantastic. FOMO is hitting me hard with this one. Granted I have such a massive shelf of shame.. that I think I'll manage.
Granted that I've only played this once, but if you're looking for an "easy to grasp" co-op/solo board game, this might very well be it. Not a huge fan of role for outcome games, but in this case it makes total sense. The surprising hit, and really, really unfortunate miss, in my opinion only adds to the fun when playing co-op. Thanks for the great review, and I do hope they do a second kickstarter soon.
Normally I agree with your reviews but on this one you’re totally off… Yes, the miniatures and production are awesome but the game play is average at best. It seems the fan boy got the better of you here. I’d rate this as a 7/10 at best but then I never played the video game. Maybe just one for the fans of the video game only. (normally a 10/10 from you would be an auto buy for me but I’ll pass on this one. But hey, it’s only a game and preferences are subjective)
I had plenty of players love the game despite never knowing what Deep Rock Galactic. Even in full critic mode, the only main downside of the game is the FAQ side of things which due to the rules been very easy in general, isn't as big a hurdle as in other more complex affairs.
Rock and Stone everyone! Thank you for the 10 start review! 😃 We really enjoy seeing people in the comment section enjoying the game at home
Thanks for the comment! :D Feel free to get in touch if you want to do anything regarding the upcoming expansions! :D
This has become my favorite dungeon crawler lately! The mechanics and theme are so well married together. I can’t wait for the expansions.

For about 8 years now!
Amazing review, wife and I are going to go through your top 100 list! Seems we have similar tastes!
Awesome! Thank you!

Eventually there will be a retail release with non-minis.

And the shelf space as well!
Oh this is light years better than anything under the Zombicide name.

THIS ONE IS FOR CARL!
FOR CARL!!
ROCK AND STONE!
TO THE BONE@
Played it once, enjoyed it. Didn't feel the need to own it, but in terms of dungeon-crawling shooters it felt like it was one of the best.
That’s a huge box!
With the miniatures for sure!

The price is high, no doubt. It's basically my personal birthday present! . . . . the expansions are my personal Xmas present! :P
@@TheBrokenMeeple Happy birthday man. Mine is in a couple weeks.
@@TheAmazingYeti oh my birthday was back in April. This was last year's present 🤣

Despite it's FAQ issues, it's still an easy game to pick up!

I’ll give it another chance, maybe it’ll grow on me… Given the good reviews I just expected more from it.
