I took my son and daughter to see Nick during this tour. I told them about his son. I told them how his music affects me. I wanted them to experience him. In the fall of 2019, a couple weeks before Ghosteen was released, my daughter passed away unexpectedly. His music, comfort and anguish speaks to me. I hope the Ghosteen shows can reach us all soon. Love in 2021 ❤️
I had the same experience in Copenhagen this fall. In a way he was guiding us through his sorrow - loss - during the show and in the end he was really thankful for sharing. "The echo comes back empty...."
What an absolutely gorgeous performance. The atmosphere is overwhelming, but in a good way. What makes it especially great, in my opinion, is the use of a xylophone in lieu of the piano that is used on the studio version of the song; it works so much better. The way the guy hits each note is absolutely magical. There's something very evocative about it that triggers feelings of beauty, nostalgia, eternity, melancholy, happiness, and other things that I can't quite describe, which makes the experience of listening to this all the more special. I would love to hear a studio remake of it with the xylophone. Anyways, this was a breathtaking performance delivered by a great artist (or artists). And you, the person who uploaded this, really managed to capture some magic here, especially because the quality of both the audio and video is so superb. Thanks a bunch for recording and uploading this!
Thanks… you’re very welcome! The whole night was mesmerising. I never been to such a big venue and the night felt so intimate… it really was something special.
