    My mother family made this at Christmas every year.They used mostly raisins and cinnamon and some ground nuts.They would make it like in a bread loaf.Very old recipe from a long time ago.

    What's the reason for brushing on melted butter on the rolled out sheet?

      So that the filling sticks. Ever made cinnamon rolls where the filling falls out? That’s what happens if you don’t butter it.

    How long do you leave the dough to rest the first time?

      Usually for between 45 minutes to an hour.
