If people had asked that of God before the shooting, would it have made a difference? These Children should be protected at all costs, but not by a deity that that doesn't do anything, even after people literally get murdered, and the people ask for protection for the survivors. That is a disgrace to the children and adults that were murdered, as well as the survivors. Where was the protection when it was needed? Isn't god all powerful? Omniscient? I think there needs to be change in the school system. There needs to be a way to prevent school shootings by addressing mental health. Not a lot of schools notice students who are suffering from mental illness. By treating students and having a good support system can make the difference. Also to get involved with the student's life outside of school. Of course, there will some that might slip thru the cracks but majority of them can get help and be better instead of resorting to violence.
