Great set of videos you've made for the Jeep WKs Sam. I've got a 05 limited 5.7 also & I've had all of the issues you've had to address & some additional ones as well.
@R Smith, thanks for your comments. When you get all the issues corrected, the 05 Jeep 5.7 is a great vehicle. I have no problems now, it is perfect and I love it. I have 117,000 miles. Hope all can follow some of my correction procedures and get theirs perfect also.
Watch my video and listen to how I position the drive shaft with bolts on bottom, use an extension pipe on the end of your 1/2” drive ratchet to loosen the bolts. I also lock the drive shaft by putting trans in park.
@james Bailey, no don't know. If you check on Amazon, you will find the whole driveshaft is not that much, less than $200 last time I checked. It comes with both Ujoints and the connecting shaft all assembled ready to install. The only way to go.
I have the Full Time 4 X 4 Quadra II drive. I have two drive shafts, one for the front drive axle and one for the rear drive axle. Everyone has the same clunking noise coming from the front drive shaft and axle isolation damper bushings. Mainly the rear. Usually, both need to be changed to correct the problem. Drive shaft u joint binds and the isolation bushing is missing. This is what causes the clunking sound. I have serveral video that cover the progression of my finding of the problem. video of the acual bouncing of the front axle. Looking at all my Clunking noise video. You will be amazed that this problem was found by me videoing underneath the Jeep and catching the problem.
@Mike Bernatchez, my Jeep is in 4 wheel drive all the time. It is all wheel drive. I feel I could remove the front drive shaft and will drive fine. There will be no power applied to the front wheels and performance would not be at the full level. I don’t think you should have to be in 4x4 to drive your car. 4x4 would not be good to drive on the highway, it is only for dirt with less traction. Good luck, drive shaft are not more than $200. Go to my Amazon channel, Amazon.com/shop/samowens I show one I give review.
@@samowens44 thanks for the reply. I have to remove the coupler plate in front of the front driveshaft. If you have a video on how to remove it I could use the help. I took the front nut off but it's in a very awkward position to get a puller in. All the best
@@rural_old_dude I have the 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.7 L Limited 4x4 I do not have the plate you talk of. I can not help with any other model. Sorry, good luck.
@LeAnna Longerbeam Tyler, yes you should be able to drive it, but you will not have 4 wheel drive operation. The back wheels will do all the power. This will give time to repair when time is right.

@harry Galbreath, your comment is my reward, so glad you found it helpful.

The bolt is stuck no matter how much strength I put in the bolt will not turn plus the drive shaft keep moving

Everything I read it said I could drive with the front driveshaft, I can but only if I put it into 4x4 and then I can't go very fast.

Could u still drive it with front drive shaft out

Not recommended with all wheel drive vehicles
No, they will not drive with front prop shaft removed unlike the XJ.
@@richardrichard5409 this is correct. My driveshaft failed over the weekend. It will not drive.
Can I still drive without the front driveshaft
I think so, but do not know for sure.
