Fight dirty - When you play from Player Two side - Mortal Kombat 2

MK2 is the only fighting game that I know of where it makes a big difference whether you play from Player 1 or Player 2 side.
If you play from player two side starting from the 3rd opponent you can easily trick to opponent to just walk backwards, and do a projectile move/expose themselves...
After almost 30 years I still dont get it why its in there, or how it got there.. is it a feature or a bug? I'd love to hear the answer from Boon one day.

The SNES version had this to some extent. If you spam Baraka’s Blade Spark, your opponent will keep jumping backwards even when cornered. At least I’ve encountered this on lower difficulties.
