QSC is one of the three major amplifier brands with Crown and Lab Gruppen. QSC is a specialist in amplifiers and we audio technical service providers do not expect this brand for anything else. Everyone has their own job, these brands that want to do everything like Yamaha are hellish. Regarding QSC, the brand has never manufactured a single loudspeaker and like other assemblers, does not say who manufactures its loudspeakers, it is incredible.
Hi Bryan it’s me Mike great video I actually have a Pastor buddy in Temecula that I’m gonna show these to for his congregation it’s a brand new church just got launched out
GOD bless you for the right education.. My name is Jimmy,, I'm a Tanzanian from East Africa.. I preach the gospel in rural and urban areas, but my challenge is the lack of instruments for preaching the gospel. Excuse me Sir,may you help me to owning instruments of the gospel.... GOD BLESS YOU HARVEST MINISTRIES PRODUCTION DEPARTMENT ALL THE TIME.
That looks like a great rig except for the top speaker pointing at that upward angle. If you could tilt them over it seems like better coverage, not loosing the top coverage up in the air. Otherwise, QSC is great gear and that rig would do a great job in many different situations.
I wondered about that, too. Seems the speaker mounting hole should be such that the bottom one points down and the other one straight ahead. Although, the angle in the video would be good for a pa on a football field pointing up at the bleachers. Or a theater. But as demonstrated, not good for flat ground or level floor.
It’s actually a line array speaker system which means normally theses monitors hang from the ceiling or a truss system. Normally it’s a stack of 5 speakers but he’s only using 2 in this video. Using line arrays allow you to point the speakers in different directions. For example; the top speaker would point at the 3rd level of an arena, gym or church and from there you can adjust the direction of the others.
Thank you for sharing. You got me interested with that hand crank rod K&M 21340. The spec says max load of 77lbs. Two KLA12s weigh 110 lbs. have you have any issues with the crank gear failing due to overweight? Thanks in advance
We've had no issues. We were using them outside and a large outdoor tent (around 600 people) collapsed from wind on top of the speakers. Besides some scuffes the crank up stands survived but the plate in the top of one of the subs did break in half. This speaker was hit directly by a 30' pole. The rating of the pole is less than the speaker weight but the rating is the same for stand alone stands and those are obviously more unstable the higher you go.
Love the video and will be using the same setup for our church plant coming this year, Dec. 2! What cabling did you have to purchase for this setup exactly? You mentioned a few in the video, but could you hook me up with the specs on the cabling? Thanks!
I've seen a lot of questions about price. This was for a portable church set up in a stadium style movie theater. We purchased through Spectrum Audio. Anywhere like Full Compass or Sweetwater would be a good place to find them but we are just a church not a retailer. If you have any operation or set up type questions feel free to ask but We aren't on the page all the time. Thanks Distance Rod is K&M 21340-000-55
That's £4000 of loudspeaker perched on a £100 wind up rated to 50KG max, with exactly 50KG top load. I'm rather thinking that they look very, very unstable - before you raised them, let alone at the top with wind, and the cables. You are 'just' in the spec window, and a bit of wind load and that's more load than those tubes are designed for. One, I'd be happy with, but two?
it looks like the top cabinet is angling up over the congregations head. Is there a way to make the lower cabinet angle down a little bit and the top one to go straight out?
For this system we do run aux fed subs. What we were showing was the set up for the top boxes so the volunteers and staff were familiar with the rigging and standard set up. The power is linked for the whole stack though, so we have one cable feeding the speakers on this side. We use the cables that have power and two xlrs together. 1 for sub 1 for main and at the stage box we have the sub signal digitally split so the set up time is reduced.
Glad to see a lot of people are enjoying this video. It was set up as a quick way to train some volunteers at location that we have. I would love to know if there are any other videos that would be helpful too you. Please comment below. BTW, the speakers are being used in a theater with stadium seating for all those commenting on the angle.
Tanuvasa Family there is one cup that rotates to change the angle. If you take a look at the manual it shows some images of this set up. The system here is used in a theater with stadium seating which is why it is angled higher than usual.
There's a rotating cup in the bottom of each speaker to angle them down if needed. A majority of set us will be at the down angle so we leave all of ours set to angle so we don't have to figure out which one goes up first. Back when we made the video it was in a movie theater so we left it at 0°>
The KLAs are $1,750 each. So that's $7,000. Then an additional $1,400 each for the KW181. So...that's a cool $9,800 at retail. 😳 Could probably get it for maybe $1,000 - 1,500 less though. That's a very good speaker system though. You can get a very good QSC speaker system for less than half that. Not as good as the KLAs, but still very good. The QSC K12.2 speakers are roughly $800 each and put out 2,000 watts each. Then pair them with two KW181, KS118, or KS212c subs for $1,400 - $1,600, and you have a really good speaker setup for $4,600 (retail) or so, that will still blow the doors off of most speaker systems.
For power qsc recommends no more than 5 on a 15 a circuit. The speakers are 2.01 Amps at 120v. You shouldn't go over 70% of the outlets rating. Audio can be daisy chained through quite a few more speakers before loss of volume(of quality XLRs are used.
Linda Milandzi yes, they have ability to be rigged. You can have a Mac of 2 pole mount and 5 flown. You can also rig them with a sub. QSC has some info on their site about the proper approach for each configuration.
The system was used in a stadium movie theater so t they weren't aimed down. That's why we did it that way for the instruction video for our volunteers.
Yes. There's a roasting cup so you can adjust the angle between 0° (straight, like in the video where we were covering stadium seating at a movie theater) or 6° down.
For some reason the speakers look like they're leaning back but in the stock photo it looks like both speakers tilt downward. I thought maybe there were 2 holes one that points down and one regular
Project: U Media there's one point that rotates to get the angle you need. There is a place in the manual that depicts that. The system is used in a theater with stadium seating. Thus the higher than usual angle.

Just a couple of things.. Good video, but next time wear a mic :) When taking the rig apart, do the cables first (after crank down) Then unlock and pull apart.. Safety first. I would think that on a small system like this you wouldn't even need the poles.. You mentioned that the public is far enough away so I'd be inclined to put a mat on the sub and just stack 'em up. Less obtrusive, no?
No, the audience was fairly close. To get equal coverage the top needed to be over their heads. Shocked at how many views this video has received it was more of an overview for our team. Thanks for the comment though.
If only they had something like the wideline series that are powered ,because the KLA's are too fat looking and not as slick as the widelines or like the DB t8's

Very nice PA!
Those speakers will set off car alarms 😂😂😂
cool 👍 so simple .. love it
Omg just slam that speaker really hard on the tripod stand XD
Very nice. How much are the 2 speakers and 1 sub and wires? TIA.
There is a pole tilt mounting on bottom of the KLA to provide a slight downward tilt. He didn't use it in the video
There was a reason in our set up for that.
I am in Nairobi Kenya, and I need these speakers, how can I get them.
A local TV station has them and they are the best speakers I've ever heard.
Why is the top speaker pointing to the sky? Thanks for sharing

well i needed to know how much that set goes for that's inclusive of the sub.
Dickson Freyz about 6000 to 8000$ it dispends where you buy it
Good stuff... Thank you.
IMO the moving plastic parts to lock speakers should be metal.
I need a whole music system for the same. How can I order
it looks like the top cabinet is angling up over the congregations head. Is there a way to make the lower cabinet angle down a little bit and the top one to go straight out?
Yes they have a tilt of 6° if that's what the venue calls for. This one called for the way it's set up.
where u get that rotate pole I would want one that can fit on bass
each speaker is 1700. sub is 1000
wow.perfect match.nice speakers...
Do you not run the subs on a separate Sub Aux? If you run the kick, floor tom, and bass on a Sub Aux, you get better separation.
For this system we do run aux fed subs. What we were showing was the set up for the top boxes so the volunteers and staff were familiar with the rigging and standard set up. The power is linked for the whole stack though, so we have one cable feeding the speakers on this side.

Thanks for the tip. Have you tried center subs? You will get less cancellation on your lower frequencies in the center.
@@tuenguyen2433 yes that would be preferable but not practical in this set up.

They have poles to tilt down the bottom cabinet if needed. This was just the set up for the location these were used.

Where are the extension speaker crank stands sold? The link doesn’t not really lead to a US distributor
I believe K&M 21340. It's in the text of the description also.

I cringed at 0:56! But good advice. Two people should carry.
Why is it that the photos make the speaker look like it's tilted down but when you actually set it up the speaker looks like its leaning backwards
