Two points Frankie; The markup on emtbs by the industry historically was massive, (sale price - production price), the pushback by consumer is reverberating in the shape of somewhat reduced old stock. We must not go back to the madness of >$5k bike as great value - it isn’t. The YT affiliates are partly to blame and us consumers for taking out loans to purchase much hyped products. You say these prices may not last. This is a common ploy, the industry is in doldrums, carefully jettisoning dated stock - this will continue well in to 2024 by most predictions. The buying price point and timing of purchase will remain very individual. Will we go back to 8k mid level emtbs in 2025………? Depends on how the value is defined by consumers……time to form an independent worldwide emtb community - to force the runaway train……..
I 100% agree with you on over priced emtbs. I have given much thought about how to proceed in making content. It seems the sale prices at this moment are prices that are what I call “true price” or MSRP pre-covid. I do believe prices could improve more. But it’s still up to the manufacturer/ brand to set the MSRP. Moving forward I’m going to be as truthful as possible and give my grade and estimate on where the true MSRP lies. Brands will likely dislike what I’m doing but I’m going to try to keep it honest for the viewers. Thank you for the comment! I’ve already recorded a few price and spec analysis episodes to try and tackle the high MSRP. I hope I can change some minds

Would like a review on that Decoy as well as on the Moterra LT, a bit heavy though
I’ve been eyeing the Cannondale Moterra 3 at REI as the sale price at $3,999 seems like a great bargain. Plus I really only need a capable bike to take my son with me on the trails. I am torn however because the Carbon Moterra you listed here looks killer and also has a great sale price as well! I think a thorough review of the Moterra 3 in the silver color (which I can’t find) would help me make a decision between the 2. Not to mention I can’t find any real world weight numbers!
Good review Frankie, Would you have a bike you could call a winner from them all? I’m after an e enduro, poppy/fun and very capable downhill. Bit like the decoy 😎
It’s tough to pin point a best since these bikes are all a bit different in nature.. but enduro + poppy I would go with either Decoy or the ARI Timp peak
Franky need your opinion... im looking for a emtb around 5K. Canyon spectral on and torque on cf8 are on special at the moment.... around 4700$ would you go for it ?... which one ? if not have you better option for me enduro/trail bike thx man
Both are great! And good prices too!. But for around 5k I would go for the Strive on underdog. I personally take the bosch motor over the shimano ep801. Bosch just has a really nice assist that shimano lacks.
@@frankiesemtb ok thx ... only thing strive is not has good deal has 2 others rebate wise.... only 300$ sale instead of 1200$ on torque .... what about the YT Decoy core ? again here is the battery 450 compare to canyon 720 to 900. So many bike out there it s hard to choose one
The intense tazer Mx pro alloy didn’t make your list? How would it compare to the yt decoy? The Mx pro alloy has the ohlins, bigger battery and ep801 now. Hard for me to choose which one to go with since I have an intense dealer close.
What I wanted to express was inventory on some of these won’t last. I had a few more extra e-bikes lined up for the video and by the time i started to record the bikes were already sold. I think deals will continue through 24/25. We will probably see another additional 10%-15% towards end of this year to early 25
I picked up the Bulls AM4 for $3600. I have yet to see any other bike at the $6k range or less with Shimano XTR, much less the spec the Bulls has. This bike for the same or less money as a FS analog bike is great!
How are you finding it? Im looking for my first ebike. Currently have a 2020 giant trance 3 29er. Iv seen your bike come up in many reviews with good results.
@@jarnokerswill highly recommend it, however i don’t have experience with other e-bikes to be able to compare. the fox 36 fork seems to not soak up chatter/washboard type bumps very well, so i may replace it with an ultra plush fork, whatever that might be. i also got 100mm stem to keep me seated on climbs. will be getting deity 80mm riser bars soon which i hope does not affect climbing much. everything else is awesome. the 24 and 25 year models are pretty much identical. i have 2024.
@MusicStillRules cheers for the reply. I was the bike I picked when I first started looking. But now iv been looking for a couple weeks, im a bit overwhelmed with the amount of choice. @@frankiesemtbis the non-sl 27.5 kenevo being replaced? Specialized removed it and I'm not sure if they're just discontinuing a 180mm alloy 27.5 emtb for a levo.
Frankie, I know this a big ask, but can you provide some options that are for beginners that don't have a big budget? Ones that I am considering are the Heybike Hero, the Cyberbike Mullet and the Aventon Ramblas. Are there others in that budget range that are also not HUGE fat-tire ebikes that aren't really meant for trails? I am not looking for black diamond riding (will avoid drops like my life depends on it... well, actually it kinda does!), but more nice flowy trail riding but also able to get up and down hills.
@@frankiesemtb I looked at their website again today. They put the decoy 29 all mountain back up, and the xxl is 503. The spec for the price is insane. Zeb and Vivid ultimate, Hayes brakes and gx transmission. For under $10k cad.
I had a motorcycle that I crashed a couple years ago, so I'm not allowed to do that anymore. I was thinking that maybe I'll try mountain biking. My motorcycle cost $10,000 (CBR600RR), but it went from 0-100MPH in 8 seconds. $6K for these things... I was thinking more $1K.... maybe a different hobby...

Hey Frankie, just curious if you are familiar with husqvarna emtb's? I recently picked up a MC5 for $4300. Im loving this bike.
I saw these bikes at sea otter but unfortunately they didn’t have any to test ride. But those bikes are pretty rad!
