In the book, the town was literally infected with hate which either was responsible for or created by It. It's worth a read, pretty great story Also he scares them to increase fear, which is what he feeds on
@kdusel1991 Excusme sir. Do you have Prince Albert in a can? You do? Well you better let the poor guy out! Excusme mam is your refrigerator running? It is? Well you better catch it before it gets away!
So I just had to point this out. With the first movie Nostalgia Critic points out that Mike starts calling the old crew after the 6th kid is killed. Question! Why did it take 6 kids to figure out Pennywise is back?
Well, kids get murdered by demons and eaten all the time! If you're in New Jersey.... (the reason "It" wasn't set in NJ is that it would make the story TOO CLOSE TO REALITY!!!) D:
In Mike's defense, just because a kid or two goes missing or dies wouldn't necessarily indicate Pennywise was back; him and the cop talk about how it could "be a rash of runaways, kids get itchy feet". While that is wrong in context, the cop has a point. Kids go missing all the time, even in a small town, so raising the alarm without actual proof (remember that Pennywise left that photo of Georgie behind at the latest scene to show Mike he had returned) wouldn't do anything but dredge up bad memories for his friends and would make Mike feel bad for it. Also it's most likely that Mike never saw all of the bodies, he's a librarian not a cop, so even with the body count, Mike wouldn't have been able to determine WHAT killed the kids until the little girl at the start of the movie. It could also be that Mike didn't want to believe Pennywise had returned at first, logically after the first couple kids go missing or turn up dead he should have suspected as such; but Mike probably was in some level of denial. Would you want to confront an eldritch demon that takes the form of your fears, can warp reality like a child playing with an etch-a-sketch, and has proven tough enough to survive getting his head cracked open like an egg?
On the subbject of bev getting around, in the origonal story by steven king they had to run a train on her to banish it. AND THEY DID IT TO HER WHEN SHE WAS A KID TO POWER UP! it was basically banish him with the power of love. SO yea shes been through the hole group.
It was thanks to your reviews of these movies that it got me and not only into the films but in the Stephen King and I want to thank you for that and wish you a happy mother's Day ❤️
Your Tim Curry impression is on point. Would you consider doing Transylvanian Transvestite dressed as Pennywise? Maybe recreate any music video from songs featured in the new movie while dressed as Dr. Frankenfurter?
The original has its flaws and limitations, but I still think it was well done in the end. Tim Curry was incredible. Funny, and terrifying in equal measure. The way he was able to flick a switch and become the monster was amazing. Secondly, the music was amazing. The calliope was an inspired choice. It truly added an haunting atmosphere. Admittedly, I have not seen the remake, but for 1990 tv, It was very good.
The first half of the mini series is very good, the second half lost its focus. Chapter 1 was the Transformers of horror flicks. Interestingly nobody cashed in on that formula. Chapter 2 again was not very good, but not as bad as the second one from the mini series.
You can really tell the difference between old and new nostalgia critic videos. I would to see more reviews like the old ones one day. Also, there is another film for NC to do for Stephen King time: 1983’s The Dead Zone starring Christopher Walken and Martin Sheen
I remember going to the live viewing of the IT pt1 remake with my wife at Hollywood Blvd. My wife and son went to IT pt2 live viewing. It's such a fun time.

Pennywise doesn’t immediately eat them because fear makes them taste better to him. Also the plot demands they live until Part 2 where Stan and Eddie die.
Dude I loved Tim curry as it didn't like the new one and can i say for a 7 yr old who watched this back in 98 I loved this movie I didn't get scared I just watched till I fell asleep. The spaceballs monolog was perfect. In the names of evolution the movie lots and lots of napam to the spider
