no its stupid. the car is slow, the reaction of the wing is SLOW... imagine if your steering cycled like that. i promise in all out driving it will be wonky.
@@g__wizz it's even tiling in the wrong direction. The concept is good, it's like the Pagani Huayra's, which worked, but it tilts in the opposite direction, which won't do any good.
ill give you that one. well it was made especially for rallying, so it could be designed with aero in mind. the other cars just have "bolt on" wings and air canals, which makes them look like insane frankenstein machines

I've been waiting for years for someone to do this with active aero for cornering, it makes so much sense at high speed. If you can turn an airplane with it why wouldn't it help turn a car. I believe ford experimented with this a long time ago but it was banned from racing. Imho this should be the next level in racing aerodynamics and I'd love to see more of this in LMP en F1.
when I saw it i literallysaid to myself: dude... why is he driving with a broken wing???😂 but then I heard it from a person next to me and I was like... WHUT??!!?! 😂
Lol, great to see... I'm an advocate of active-aero devices. This example is a bit clumsy though, it will be interesting to see how it gets developed and refined. A number of other cars already have active aero, independent of left and right turns, playing with different techniques.
Although a vantage like that can be deceiving as far as speed goes, they were going a lot faster than it looked. It is a novel idea though I'm curious how much advantage it affords considering the extra weight of the support equipment.
at high speed this wing will probably be at 1 degree , so the resistance will be minimum and it will change only if you tap the brakes or turn so yeah , not gonna happen !!!!
It just hasn't been developed enough to be worthwhile yet. Imagine 10-20 years from now, an F1 style car with fully articulating aero surfaces, it would be an absolute monster. Obviously we'll never see that kind of insanity in road cars, but the ability to actively manage aero forces (in all 3 axis) would be a breakthrough in stability & control. I feel that the main roadblock would be making the cars visually appealing once we have the technology.
+Jonah Beale Active aero was developed by F1 teams over 30 years ago and then banned by the FIA for F1 as the poorer teams couldn't afford to compete. In modern F1 even passively self-adjusting aero is banned - wings are required to not flex above a certain amount

would it make more sense to have the wing split in the middle and use drag to pull the car around the turn like an airplanes rear plane wings as opposed to tilting. i fail to see how tilting it is helping, it has the same angle all the way across other than being tilted so wouldn't the drag still be evenly applied? not to mention the driver isn't going nearly fast enough for it to be making a difference.

We really needed to see this comment ?
They were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they never stopped to ask if they should.
why not though? helps cornering
it's a great idea I could see a future version of the Valkyrie with this tech
That only really applies to moral/ethical dilemmas. This is engineering. Let's see what happens!!!
it cant, not being that slow. its wonky technology. wings them selves are wonky a product of bad aero to begin with.
g zimmermann Bad aero? Almost every racing body uses a wing. A fan setup is really the only way to reduce drag and maintain down force but it costs power.
Pagani , Buggati , Lamborghini , Lexus : We have wing that go up and down !!
Zenvo : *mine can go up , down left and right* :)
But can you do this!!!
you forgot to mention the very first car who introduced the first adjustable wing and its none other than the old Porsche Carrera .
Pagans doesn’t have a active wing they have aero flaps that go up and down depending on your turning and breaking.
Just like the wonkavator!
Lamborghini has ala, not moving wings except for the centenario
This is when Lightning McQueen from Cars 3 cant keep up with the new generation of racers.
Sadly enough, that works.. He gets an upgrade and BAM! Crazy Zenvo.
Jason 5.0 I am speed.
Some cars have aero brake, this has aero steering.
Huayra too but it looks alot better (but probably not quite as effective as zenvos)

The best super car manufacturers are looking for ground effects, and small manufacturers replace them with rocking wings

active aerow at those speeds will make very little difference compared to the weight of such kit

@@enlightenedidiot9552 and at much higher speeds you will require the actuators to work at a much faster rate than shown in this video.

First time I saw this in another clip, I thought the wing was broken. Lol
It looks amazing. Zenvo had created something new...

All the way to the Finnish line.
Correct me... Wouldn't that help induce or encourage over steer? Programming it to reaact the opposite way will result in under steering instead.

nope. All super/hyper cars would have one if it did.

Is that wing really practical on a road car?
The zenvo spoiler looks ridicules.
John Schotz it's a wing and not a spoiler
*Ridiculous
Nik Falcon this 'wing' is a spoiler. It curves the wind so a spoiler and still looking absolute ridiculous.
That not what spoiler is meant to do. A spoiler is meant to 'spoil' the airflow over the car to reduce downforce and is usually no taller than a few centimetres . A wing is usually made taller than the car's body and is used to increase downforce.
John Schotz so does your English.

The real question is, does that active Aero direct air towards or away from the fire which will inevitably erupt?
whats up with the spoiler lol, is it collecting wind to generate power or what
This is pretty genius aerodynamic work. Another step to Dodge SRT Tomahawk.
