Nice video about role of Chromosomal abnormalities in causing miscarriages. I would like to add few more things here. Chromosomal abnormalities are responsible for about 50 % cases of recurrent miscarriages. Althouh with advancing maternal age the role of chromosomal abnormalities in casing miscarriages tend to decrease. In second trimester it causes miscarriages in about one third of the cases while in third trimester it is respinsbile for about 5 5 cases of miscarriages. Among all chromosomal abnormalities the Turner Syndrome is the most common single abnormality found in patints with recurrent miscarraiges.
My wife karyo report shows 46xx,t(7;12)(q32;q13) balanced translocation . She already had 3 miscarriages, does these miscarriages happen due to these translocation? If so please suggest how to get a healthy baby?
Hello Sir, I have balanced translocation between chromosome 16 and 17. I am been to fertility specialist, but I am not getting clarity what are my chances of having successful pregnancy or having baby with defects and normal baby. Please reply.
Recently we (Husband and wife) tested the Karyotyping test and found an anomaly of Husband's report. " Duplicate in long arm of one chromosome 9 is detected. 46, XY, dup(9), (q11-q12). Is there anything to wrong? Is there any solution ? Is there any treatment to gain a healthy child? I'm eagerly waiting for feedback.
@RSA Institute - English Channel Sir, In recent past we went for IVF. B grade embryos are used. but failed. when we went for genetic test for my wife 46,XX,1qh+ is shown. Is it anything to worry ? can you pls guide?
If an embryo being freezed in the process of ivf and transferred and was pregnant but miss carried. Do this straw have same chromosomal abnormalities if the previous one was. Please reply. My daughter is facing a traumatic situations. The product is on investigation and waiting for the report
This does not necesarrily mean the egg has some abnormalities, it is more likely that the internal environment of the mother might have some problems, for example she may have some condition with her reproductive system that was undiagnosed, which affected the pregnancy causing a miscarriage. The egg could have some abnormalities, but it is definitely not the sole factor in this situation. Hope this helps!

46,X,inv(Y)(p11;q13) Interpretation : There is presence of a pericentric inversion in chromosome Y, involving the regions p11 & q13. This heteromorphism is considered to be a polymorphic variant.
